The good: — THEFOOD. My husband and I eat breakfast at Cracker Barrel at least once a month. We looooove their breakfast. it just tastes so homemade, if that makes any sense. We get the Country Boy and the blueberry pancakes. Their biscuits with apple butter are just about the best thing in the world. I also love their grits and regular hashbrowns(not the casserole). — The price. Cheaper than Ihop and they give you LOTS of food. The rest: The service is no-nonsense and no frills. The servers are very direct and efficient, no small talk here and hardly any smiles. The wait can get really bad on the weekends, but they have that cute little country store you can look around while you wait.

First visit to Cracker Barrel ever. I’m sad I hadn’t made it in sooner! I think I’ll be tempted to eat there every Sunday now because the home style chicken was stellar. It’s easily the best fried chicken I have ever had. The service was great too. Our server Daniel was prompt during our visit and not too pushy when we said we needed some time to over look the menu. I think we also met the General Manager on our visit but I didn’t catch his name. We had the not so pleasant experience to hear a complaint go on behind us where a woman had order the home style chicken but did not know it would be breaded and fried. Daniel listened intently to her request for a different item and quickly went to the kitchen to start her new order. The manager also dealt with her with kindness and inquired if anything was wrong. They both handled the complaint well even though it was clearly her fault and replaced her meal no questions asked and without requesting that she pay for the replacement. That’s very generous and hospitable of them. We will be in again for sure! If you haven’t had Cracker Barrel or are trying to decide if you should go to this one or not I say go for it! It’s delicious!

Okay I’ll make this one short. It occurred to me that I had never eaten at a Cracker Barrel even though I had seen them literally all around the United States. All I can say is canned food at its finest. Nothing good, nothing great, everything just very bland an ordinary. I was there for lunch and for the life of me can’t figure out how they have so many restaurants all over the place. For the life of me can’t even remember what I had lol. Usually if I feel the restaurant was having a bad day I’ll give them a second chance but not this one. On a side note service was exceptional too bad their talents but wasted I’m below average food.

Ive had so many terrible experiences. they used to be really good. after many visits of incorrect orders. slow or rude service. i knew we shouldnt go back. but we did. last straw was waiting 55min for food in a restaurant that WASNTFULL! several empty tables in our section alone. finally had to demand our food be brought out. the luke warm temp led me to believe it had been cooked and ready. my fathers chicken was dried out and so was my mothers fish. my nephews order was the wrong side. my 5yr old and myself were given paper cups of fruit that had obviously be reused from a previous day and wasnt«fresh». my strawberries were blue and blueberries were just white fuzz balls(gag). the manager and server werent too concerned. um u served me and my child both cups of bad food.spoiled. moldy to the extreme. you often have poor quality food??? i feel like they take better care of the store side than the restaurant. not a fan since childhood. shame

Used to be my favorite breakfast place. Last couple years they have progressively gone down hill. Slow service. Bad food quality. I was served raw breakfast sausage that smelled rotten. Not worth the wait for a table.

I am not sure why this location is rated 3 stars. The breakfast here is amazing! The pancake and French toast are by far the best in town. Sirloin is also very good. Staff and waitress are very friendly and attentive.

Terrible service for mediocre food. Told it’s a 20 minute wait to be seated; It took 40. After being seated, it took another 10 minutes just to be acknowledged and have beverage order taken. Manager was apologetic, got a 2nd waiter to help. Have the feeling our waiter is new. Long standing plaints of Cracker Barrels, countrywide: — Use larger facilities and give folks a few inches more elbow room; and — Likewise in the store, either reduce the number of sales racks, or increase the size of the facility. It’s pick-pocket haven, in there.

I came here at dinner time and a got a delicious breakfast. There aren’t many Cracker Barrels around me. I have to drive 2 towns over to come here.

Went in today to pick up a meal and they had sold it to someone else. They had to fix me a new one of course. Only took about 5 min(impressive considering had I dined in I would’ve waited 20 min)

Great food and service! The food was up to the quality that is expected. It was extremely busy, but the service was still quick and friendly.

My husband and I went for breakfast one weekday morning. The hostess was so friendly to us that we were made to feel as though we were welcomed to the home of old friends. The waiter assigned to the table continued that homestyle treatment with warm and friendly service. Of course the food was good. Definitely will be returning soon.

Breakfasts have usually been tasty. Lunches and dinners are ok, if pedestrian. Service is hit-or-miss.

This place has been hit or miss. The food is usually pretty good however the staff is less than stellar. It is almost impossible to get a table during the weekends so my wife and I tend to try during the week. The employees are hit or miss sometimes we get very helpful, polite, and positive servers. Then other times they do not know the menu, do not know the product, do not listen to your order and screws them up, and then get an attitude when you call them out on the mistake to fix it. Its really a hit or miss what your will get when you go. We can take it or leave it.

Country dining in Texas. It’s been years since I ventured to Cracker Barrel given their reputation of poor service towards minorities. I thought it was time time to give them a try. The location is a little tough to access off the frontage road so GPS helps. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent comfort food. You can forget about you diet for a day to just sit back & enjoy the meal. I ordered the breakfast platter with pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Tasty!

My family and I have been coming to this cracker barrel for years but, for the last couple years it has been disappointing and todays services is the last draw !!! We waited 45 minutes for a table for three when we were told the wait was 15minutes but, thats not the problem the problem was the waiter he seemed like he didn’t care he never came to fill our cup of coffee my husband had to get up ask the host to locate our waiter and she couldn’t find him so she did it her self. we order our food and I ordered the southwest sausage, egg and hash browns. I see that our plates our on the way and everyone is served and I get my plate and there are no hash browns they had placed home fries on my plate :( Our waiter is not to be found again so we have to get up and locate another waiter and tell them what has happened she takes my plate back. I’m disappointed but, I didn’t want to ruin my husbands or my daughters breakfast so, I told them don’t worry about it go ahead and eat my plate so that your food doesn’t get cold my plate will be out shortly. Well, everyone is just about to be done with their plate and here comes my plate… So, yes I got my hash browns but, the over easy eggs were cold I was soooo disappointed. I just said forget about it. The waiter for the first time comes to the table to bring our check and he said«I’m leaving your check here on the table no rush take your time and I said I would like you to know that I was very disappointed in the service as well as the food I explained and He said OH Well, I’m sorry about that would you like me to take your plate and I said yes. THEEND We are done with this place and I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy !!

Sat down, drinks brought 2 minutes later, waiter wanted our order 1 minute after that. He was as bad as it gets. The house salad was good. The baked potato was underdone by 30 minutes. I sent that back, The steak was F grade, worst I have ever had. Update, day after. bathroom duty all day. I am not surprised.

No wait. Got a table immediately. Waited a few minutes and another couple was seated, but no one came to take our drink order or even say hi to us. Another couple was seated, still no drink order. The first couple were greeted and got a drink order in, still no server stopping by our table. Wait a few more minutes, the other couples had their drinks. The manager comes over to ask the people who came in after us if they were ready to order. It had been 15 minutes and still no one had even got our drink order so we left.

Cracker what… cracker shit! The food was awful. The fresh brewed tea was way too sweet. They ran out of mash potatoes… is that even possible? No flavor, food was near cold. Overpriced, you can make food better at home. Don’t waste your money!

This Cracker Barrel is the best we have ever been to. The service was great! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. I could tell that someone is really doing a fabulous job managing this restaurant! We will definitely be eating here when we are in town!

I’ve been to this Cracker Barrel a few times, and I have to say I’m not a fan. The food is always just okay. A lot of it is just plain or not that great. The staff is okay depending on who you get. The prices are decent, you get a good amount of food, though they do sometimes forget to bring some of it out. Also, they’re kind of slow in getting your food out. All in all I’d probably just skip this one.

On cold nights me and my family love eating Cracker Barrel chicken and dumplings. We usually eat in but we just wanted it to go. The thing that I don’t like about calling in is they don’t give you the same amount of food as they do when you eat in. Also I don’t like how sometimes they don’t give you eating utensils. That should be automatic without having to ask and napkins to. We love the female manager here. She is down to earth and when we eat in and she is here the service is 4 stars

I like Cracker Barrel, although I don’t go very often. This visit, the food was fine and the restaurant was clean. However, the clueless manager prompted me to leave this review. I noticed a new item on the menu(at lease new to me) with chicken, green chilies, jack cheese, and pico. I asked the server about it and she said she had not tried it, so she asked the manager to come talk to me. I told the manager that I was concerned about a green chili dish being too bland, and she assured me that the combination of green chilies, jack cheese, and pico was actually quite flavorful. So I ordered it. So far, so good. When the food was delivered, it was actually the manager who brought it to our table. I noticed the pico was missing, so I asked her about it. She said that they were out of pico. Huh? I understand that restaurants occasionally run out of stuff(although well-manged ones don’t do it often), but she just sold me on this entrée based of the flavor combination of the three ingredients. Not only did she not mention it while convincing me to order the dish, but no light bulb went off in her head when the same guy asked about it fifteen minutes later. By the way, the dish was very bland. It may be fine with the pico, but it was boring without it.

Great food. Served in less than 5 minutes. Soon as we sat down our drink order was placed. Typical Cracker Barrel atmosphere. They are crowded and I understand the need to seat people but need to do a better job about cleaning and sweeping the floor. Overall I give it four stars besides they serve turkey products and that makes me happy because I don’t eat pork!

Over the last couple of years, I have been meeting a contractor friend for lunch about once a month. He comes down from Denton and I go up from Richardson. This restaurant is about in the middle. Today, I had the Country Salad with a cup of soup. There may have been two ounces of chicken on it. The cup of soup had two cubes of beef in it. I think my friend had his usual chicken dumplings. They have a good menu. They do serve breakfast at all times which is nice. The service has ranged from dismal to good. The portions are not that great. The price is all right. When it is crowded, you generally end up milling around in the store.

So. I told myself that I was going to try to avoid putting this review online. I thought I’d told enough of my friends about it and whatnot… but people keep bringing up Cracker Barrel around me. So it’s gotta go online. I will never return to Cracker Barrel if I can help it. I used to live down the highway from this location, and after the Black Eyed Pea up the road closed, I tried this Cracker Barrel as a replacement for a bit. It was nowhere near the Black Eyed Pea in terms of quality food, decent service, and recommendability. I’d been here a couple of times with groups, at the suggestion of other people. It was barely mediocre. The veggies taste canned, the entrée/meats are decent. Nothing is outstanding. I was told to try the breakfast food, but whenever I was here, I wasn’t in a breakfast mood(it was after school, but before work or for a quick bite, etc). The time that takes the cake, though, is the reason I will never go back, ESPECIALLY to this location. The few times I’d been here before THE time weren’t excellent. Service was mediocre, but slow. Hostess was awkward. Food tasted canned or was only ‘warm’. Seemed slightly over priced. But I was still giving it a chance. I walk in on a weekday afternoon(about 3pm– one of those days when I was between classes at UNT and work in Lewisville), and the place was pretty deserted… About 3 occupied tables in the dining area, none of them full to capacity. So I wait. and wait. and wait… No one’s even coming in to seat me. This should’ve been a clue. However, it clearly wasn’t. I wait another 10 minutes or so when a hostess-type person finally wanders out and seats me. I’m given a menu and left alone. Left alone for what seemed like FOREVER. The other 3 occupied tables were getting decent service. I saw 2 different servers(one man and one woman) who were delivering food, bringing refills, etc… but no one was stopping by my table. Not even to say, «I’ll be right with you.» Not even to bring me a water. I just sat there. I didn’t even open my paperback I’d brought with me to ensure that they knew I wasn’t trying to ignore them/sit here alone without ordering. Nothing. I even saw a manager(let’s face it, they’re easy to pick out) walk the floor a few times, fold some napkins, go through some menus, arrange those damn game things on other tables. Even HE didn’t come over and see what was going on, and he actually watched both servers walk past me more than once. At this point, I was really and truly appalled. Part of me wanted to flag the first server to walk past me again, and the other part wanted to see exactly how long it would take for me to get noticed. About 20 minutes(yes, really) after I was seated, I saw a server come in from outside and head towards the back of house. He was clearly JUST starting his shift, if he’d even clocked in yet. He walked by my table, saw me sitting there, and asked, «Has anyone been with you yet?» I said, «No, I’ve been sitting here for over 20 minutes.» He immediately profusely apologized and took my beverage order(water) and my food order(as obviously I’d had time to figure out what I wanted) and promised to get my food out as quickly as possible. He didn’t even have his apron on yet and he went above and beyond what the other 4 people I saw working there had done(2 servers, 1 hostess, 1 manager). True to his word, my water was out about 15 seconds later, and my food followed as quickly as possible. He was incredibly prompt and attentive and made sure I wanted for nothing. So he was awesome. And I most definitely tipped him accordingly(I think I tipped him about 80%). When I was done with my mediocre meal(it was chicken and dumplings with green beans. The dumplings were alright, but the beans were canned. Nothing extraordinary), I went to the cashier in the Country Store area to pay. I asked to speak to a manager immediately. Turns out, she was one too. I told her what had happened. I was so honestly upset when recounting the 4 different people ignoring me for extended periods of time, I really almost started to cry. I insisted that I wanted to pay for my meal because once my server(whose name I sadly can’t remember!) walked in the door, everything was fine. But it was unacceptable that I had to wait 30 minutes for a person to start their shift before I was helped. She seemed appropriately concerned by what I told her and swore that she would talk to some people. She insisted on comping my meal. and I eventually acquiesced to the free food. But I did tell her that this was my 2nd or 3rd less than awesome experience(this one, of course, taking the cake) at this location and I would make a point to never come back. Over-reaction? Possibly. But I was so completely awestruck at how awful the service was from 4 different people, I just can’t bring myself to go back. The food’s not worth the gamble of the shitty service, anyway…
