With both my parents coming from Quebec pork pie was a staple in our home. The French love pork pie and make it many different ways. My family always used a little bit of beef mixed in with the pork which gave her a very nice consistency and volume to the pie. Great Job Mailhot! Thanks for giving me a taste of home.

I am familiar with Mailot’s as they make a variety of French Canadian meat products such as creton(pork pâté spread), pork pie(tourtière) as well as salmon pie. I found these items at my local Market Basket and I do purchase them from time to time when I do not feel like making them myself. One comment on the pork pie as it is a very thin pie and not too«meaty». The creton is just the perfect consistency. Just right texture and when cold, you can still spread it on toast.
