While I often go to this Hastings, it’s not because they offer good prices or customer service. For good customer service I go to Book People in Moscow. For the best prices I go to

I go to Hastings because when I want something, I want it now, and don’t want to drive or wait. While the staff is usually helpful (when you can find them), checkout usually bogs down. I’ve also experienced poorer than usual service in the video section. For whatever reason, usually when I ask these associates a question, they don’t seem like they really want to help me.

This store is a bit off the beaten trail up in the Orchards. They have a good selection of books, both new and used, as well as used and new CDs. They cost a bit more than what you’d find at Walmart, Kmart or Shopko, but sometimes customer service trumps the additional cost but not today. Today I stood in a line of some 8 – 10 customers while 3 – 4 other staffers ignored the situation. We restocked our stuff and left. Had the line even been moving, we may have waited it out. Hastings lost our $ 20 bucks today.
12/​23/​07 – I always thought it had a good selection of CDs until I tried to find my son’s Christmas CD list here. They have almost no screamo music, a very popular genre rapidly rising in popularity. I had to order them from
