Hannaford Supermarkets

The Auburn Hannaford is need of a serious renovation or, better yet, demolition and rebuilding on a new site. This store is a wasteland of fluorescent lights, unpleasant aesthetics, cramped aisles, mediocre selection, and the sketchiest group of customers you will ever find. The grocery values are good. The meats and fish are always fresh. The other really positive thing about this store: the fish counter guy and the produce department staff are really excellent. Otherwise, this is by far the worst Hannaford I’ve ever been in. With outstanding Hannafords in smaller communities like Belfast, Bridgton and Falmouth, this one is a real shocker. They need to bulldoze it and start over in a different location out of the hood.
