I was looking for a place to practice while visiting my partner’s family in the Lewiston-Auburn area, and Chill Yoga was one of the first hits to show up in a Google search. I’ve been practicing(mostly hot power Vinyasa) yoga for about 7 months, so I was looking for something relatively challenging. Because of scheduling, I first took the«Beginner Vinyasa Flow» class, which was very basic but enjoyable. Heidi’s instruction and personal attention were fantastic, and it really helped my posture and breathing practice. My second class was«Vinyasa Yoga for Health and Fitness,» which was much more challenging. The class focused on holding various Vinyasa flows, balance, and breathing, and definitely worked the students into a sweat. The studio space is very bright and open, with smooth and clean hardwood floors and a relaxing ambiance. The temperature was around 75 degrees with plenty of air circulation. The classes ranged from 8 to 4 people, but there was always plenty of room for movement. I found Chill Yoga to be an excellent place for my home-away-from-home practice, and I would go back anytime.

Chill Yoga is a fantastic spot for your practice, whether you are a seasoned pro or have never said«om» in your life. I’ve taken classes from several of the instructors and they are all knowledgable and passionate about yoga. Heidi is my favorite instructor — she makes everyone feel so welcomed in the studio and has great Vinyasa flows that she shares. The class sizes are smaller than a lot of the studios in Portland so you get a more personalized experience. Have a challenge with a pose? The instructors will show you modifications on the poses so that you can still get the most out of your practice. This is by far my favorite place to practice yoga!
