Woah. What a hole. And…it was closed. This exit in general leaves much to be desired. We got our gas at the Marathon next door and moved along to find our ice cream elsewhere.

Now, I could swear this place used to be out on U.S. 40 where Midway Restaurant is now but that was years ago. It’s obviously much easier for them to get business from outsiders since they’re next to I-70 now. I was surprised at how full the menu board was, and also how many flavours of milk shakes and malts they had. It seemed like a lot of home cooking that grandma would make, plus steak sandwiches that other places might make. I’d really like to try the food in a future visit. It was fairly busy when I arrived. The woman behind the counter was mixing a milk shake, it seemed. How many places actually mix milk shakes now? McDonald’s and most fast food places have automatic mixing in the machines. Most don’t taste anything like what this place can make, and that’s too bad. I got a medium raspberry malt for $ 2.99, which could be pricey. I think it’s in line with Hardee’s/Carl’s Jr. or Rally’s/Checkers, although they don’t offer raspberry. It was very thick and creamy but the raspberry flavour wasn’t convincing. Whatever, good ice cream is tasty. She wasn’t really talkative with me, but that’s been my experience with Lewisburg in general. They don’t seem to like outsiders. Still, she was 100 times more friendly than the waitress at Midway Restaurant.

The ice cream is pretty good, but that’s it. The lady behind the counter didn’t have much to say, she didn’t even crack a smile. This place also has food, but I already had a lunch before I came here, so I don’t know how good the food is. So if you have a craving for ice cream and you’re in the area, this place isn’t so bad. It’ll hit the spot.
