Apparently the leading partner made some office changes & kept the people who can work when a crush is happening. Now you make a request over the phone it gets done. The doctors here are top flight & all take the time to understand what aliment you are experiencing. We followed Dr Langbein when he left Stonybrook Medical & he has always delivered 1st class level of service. Thank you staff & doctors

Let me start by saying that the doctors in this practice are really great. If it weren’t for them I wouldn’t have remained a patient for decades. That said the office staff is the worst. Having worked in doctors offices myself over the years I have an idea of what the job entails, so things like waiting weeks for referrals(because apparently they have one person in the office capable of doing this & she only works like one day a week for a 2 hour window or some other nonsense reason they can’t do the referral in a timely manner), having tremendous difficulty getting a prescription called in(often without any success), not being able to schedule an appt while you are sick(3 week wait to see a doctor when you have pneumonia!!!), or the inability to straighten out billing errors that they made(like billing insurances you haven’t had for years despite presenting a new & valid insurance card at each visit), HIPPA violations(this really happened to me when the daughter of someone in their office made a post online about the nature of my visit, done more out of stupidity I am sure than an intent to be malicious, but I was pissed just the same since it shouldn’t happen). Even though I loathe any time that I have to interact with the office staff be it over the phone or in person I remained a patient because I like the doctors & didn’t want to find a new PCP. When it was time to change insurances this year I did what I always do. RESEARCH. I went online & checked out the policies available to me & selected one because on the insurance company’s website AND Woodbourne Family Practice’s website my doctor is listed as a network provider. As it turns out they are not in network with the new insurance & I was made aware by the insurance company that their website is out of date. Well apparently so is the Woodbourne Family Practice website because they still list that insurance as one they accept(in fact it is the very first one on the list). I was told by my insurance company that if the office submitted authorization(a simple step that takes a moment & can be done via the website, phone, or fax) I can continue to be seen there. I called the office & was advised by «Sue» on the phone that they do not/will not do that. I asked her what insurances they currently accept so I can select a new plan that they do take. She said she did not know & that I would have to find that out for myself(which I thought I did the first time but apparently no one updates their websites on such information). I am instead devoting my time to finally breaking down & finding a new PCP instead doing Sue’s job & figuring out what insurances they accept. What a shame. Such good doctors, such a terrible office.

My primary care is here. He is awesome but so are his associates who I have seen when he was booked and I needed an appointment asap.
