I should bite the bullet and admit that my family and I have eaten here enough for us to be considered half-regulars. And for a good reason, too. The dine — in service is excellent and the food is consistent in quality. We had the lunch special(Mon-Wed, I think?) And, as I’ve stated before, there is no real difference in portion size between the full entrée and the lunch. The server was attentive and the breads and garlic knots were excellent, as usual. I tried the tortellini in bacon carbonara sauce. It was very creamy and cheesy. The dressing on my salad was a bit heavy-handed, but no big negatives in terms of food. It’s not a very traditional, true Italian cuisine. It’s Italian — American fare and that’s okay because the food is good and the price is fair.

Was there with the wife last week. Ordered the personal pizza, half pepperoni, half meatball. Six slices, thin crust, big enough for two really. But, I ate it all anyway. Friends that were with us had other entrees and they were all nice portions. Looking forward to going back.

After a weekend of being stuck indoors cause of a blizzard(Thanks, Jonas), taking a bite of Calda’s pizza filled with me the happiness of a thousand rays of Florida sunshine. My housemate and I braved the barely plowed streets of our neighborhood to get there and it was well worth it! The slices were huge-probably the size of 2 normal slices– and a steal at a little over $ 3 each. The pizza was thin but with crunch like in true NY fashion. I chose the buffalo chicken and the ziti. The buffalo chicken bites themselves had crunch, like they were fried, and oh so good. My only complaint is that the chicken to pizza ratio was smaller than I’d like(more chicken= better pizza.) The ziti was really flavorful– the ricotta and pasta combo on pizza was excellent. The chicken parm is also a hit but sold out by the time we arrived– that will be my slice next time!

It’s the little things that make Calda absolutely great: –Garlic knots with bread to start — brilliant –Delicious flavor profiles with your entrée — brilliant. –Affordable prices — brilliant. –Great service — brilliant. Calda is a must-go to restaurant.

Very good pizza. They keep the flavor and texture consistent. Unlike some of the competition in the area. The dining area is very inviting and clean. The staff is always very friendly. One time I was waiting for a pie with one of my kids and they gave us a couple of free garlic knots to hold us over. Can’t say a bad thing about this place.

Decent Pie. Tried a Sicilian Pie and I thought it to be too Doughy. The best Sicilian Pie is when the bottom has a very thin layer of crunch and the middle has a nice fluff to it. This pie was a bit heavy in my opinion. The sauce was sweet and tasty and the hospitality was great. I may try the Neapolitan Pie next time around, but truthfully I doubt I would ever go back.

Two words– ZUCCHINISPAGHETTI … Delicious! Noodles made with zucchini topped with marinara and grilled chicken — highly recommend asking them to top it with some ricotta cheese– so good! Pizza-wise we’ve tried the garden salad slice, balsamico chicken slice, spinach and artichoke slice — all SOO good! And we spotted a table with a fresh buffalo chicken pie from afar and it looked amazing, definitely trying that one next. We’ve also had their ‘ultimate rice balls’ and the name describes them perfectly. Two rice balls topped with vodka sauce and mozzarella… Tastes as amazing as it sounds. We always start our meal with their garden salad and of course the garlic knots and bread they bring to the table. Love that they bring over a little bit of sauce with the breads too. And while the garlic knots are awesome, idk how but their regular bread is even better.

When was the last time you bit into a Sicilian slice of pizza and, among the chewy cheese and sweet sauce, you found a big flavorful piece of basil? The pizza is excellent here and I ordered my usual chicken bacon ranch, to get something with yummy toppings and a nice Sicilian corner, my ultimate favorite. The topped slice was loaded with fresh ingredients as well; nice big slices of fresh tomato. I’ve eaten at this café restaurant at least a half-dozen times. Their food never disappoints and the service is wonderful. If you go there, see if Tom can take care of you. Hard to find a better server than Tommy. Salads, pasta, and anything Parmigiana, all good if you have room after their tasty warm garlic knots and fresh Italian bread.

Always enjoyed the food… however…the delivery guy was so obnoxious. Last week ordered a pie. .came with crushed box, seeping oil & cheese stuck on the inside. I called and let the mgr know and he comped me a free pie. So now, a week later… I order it. an hour. later the delivery guy gets here and says. .heres your free lunch… listen up pal… its not free I paid for it last week. That pie didn’t even look like a pizza. Anyway… these young kids are rude and self entitled.

I live very close to this restaurant but have never walked in here before. Called up and they asked if i was a new customer I said yes. They gave me 2 connollis and a five dollar gift card to use for my next visit. I ordered a regular pie because i want to see first how they are. i didnt want to waste money on something and not like it. Overall the pizza was really good. The cheese was great and the sauce was good. Have gone back twice and hubby got the meatball Parm and said very good.

This place is great! Friendly staff. Complementary butter rolls with your meals even for take out. Food — My favorite is their rigatoni with fungi and gorgonzola salad. My bf and I call it the crack pasta b/c it’s just so good. Plenty of sauce and we both crave for it all the time. Salad is always fresh. It has become our go to pasta spot. Portions are huge and it seems even bigger when you eat in. Highly recommend.

The gorgonzola salad is probably my favorite salad ever. I never thought I’d be that person talking about salad from a pizza place but seriously it’s that good.

Really good pizza, awesome staff. A bit far from me but when I am in the area, I definitely stop by. It is great long island pizza and they have plenty of options to choose from.

Absolutely love coming to Caldas the pizza and garlic knots are out of this world and my usually meal when I spot at one of there restaurants. I just love how fresh and delicious the food is. I also like the penne alla vodka when I want to switch things up they make it so good it’s just mouthwatering and leaves me wanting to order more. if you pass one of these and is thinking I’m hungry make a u-turn because you will not be disappointed.

I’m really glad I found this place. The guy at the counter is friendly with a nice sense of humor. The pizza is fantastic. It’s everything I expect in a great slice; crispy, cheesy, salty, sweet, saucy, and chewy. There was a nice hint of herbs in their sauce without going overboard on the oregano which is right up my alley. The first bite reminded me of a pizzeria I used to go to when I was little that closed down. I had a bit of a flashback moment when I tasted it but in a good way. This place is also open early. I got here before 11am and they were already ready and pulling fresh hot pies out of the oven. I’d like to think my slices came from the first pizza of the day. Pizza by the slice $ 2.50 each. The place is definitely decent looking as well, clean, modern ovens. It’s more than just an average pizza joint. I wouldn’t mind sitting down for a meal here. Judging by their menu I think I will be back soon to try some of their pasta dishes.

Gluten-free pizza and pasta! Wow, the place smelled great when we arrived. Very nice décor for what seems like a pizza joint from the outside. Clean, nicely designed dining area with plenty of seating. Garlic knots(LOADED!) and bread sticks with marinara were dropped immediately(and disappeared as fast) and our server was very friendly and sharp. The menu had a number of innovative dishes besides the long list of standards. Prices were reasonable and worth it. All quality ingredients and prep. The marinara was even delicious(lots of chunks and basil) Fried calamari was freshly battered and crisp/tender and delicious. Broccoli Rabe was amazing. Perfectly cooked, garlicky and sweet/bitter. Gluten-free pizza was prepared in an aluminum pan(for safety) and was very good. Chicken dishes and raviolis were awesome. Big serving of complex salad or pasta for a side. House Chianti was surprisingly nice, too. We would easily return any time for a good value, delicious, home cooked Italian meal.

Walking into Calda’s I was overwhelmed with the smell of fresh basil. Places that usually smell good, taste good and Calda’s did not disappoint. Sampled a grandma slice and an eggplant slice. Flavors were strong with fresh tomatoes, garlic, and basil all made for some of the best pizza I’ve had in months. Crispy crusts were just the right thickness. Nice place located just off Hempstead Turnpike. After eating pizza at a at a few other places I’ve upgraded to the five dinger. Again, best pizza I’ve had in months.
