Im not a huge fan of their chicken. While the taste and spices are there, i personally think its over fried. I know my friends really like it, but im just now feeling it. I prefer other K fried chicken places. Also, it’s a bit expensive for what you get.

Order ahead or plan for a wait. I was one of three people eating inside the restaurant and it still took 30 minutes to get my food. They have a booming to go business and it was good. In fairness I tried the Bulgogi, which a marinated sliced ribeye, and not the chicken. The Bulgogi tasted great, but not worth a 30 minute wait. The staff was blunt but not rude. They seemed a bit unraveled by the number of callas coming in to place take out. I will give it another try just to taste the highly touted crispy chicken.

Food is good. The service is horrible and pathetic. Especially that old Lady(who is not just rude but just looks down upon you like a racist), who seems like she is always in the worst mood. While this happened on my first visit, I ignored it as it was towards closing time. Feeling sympathetic, I let it slide as it seemed like she had a bad day then. However today again, she seemed like it was a crime that we were there to order food. On asking her about the combo, it felt as if I offended her by asking her to give me her two ‘kidneys’. No courtesy nor any sense of customer service. 30 mins wait time was announced as if the warden was commanding the prisoners. The biggest joke was, after picking up my food when I pointed out that lots of folks complained about her condescending tone on Unilocal, she says she is not like that. l stated this was my last visit here and will try another location. Frankly, I would never set my foot in this particular establishment, even if they give me their food for free. Avoid this loc, as you are better off somewhere else.

I really like the chicken here but there is a 30min wait… You should def. order prior to coming here. and give the lady your phone number when you are picking up the food

I’ve tried so many different places for fried chicken in general and when it comes to Korean Fried Chicken, Bonchon is certainly on the top three of my favorite korean fried chicken place. Pros: Obviously, the chicken wings are so damn crispy you could eat twenty of them since they are somewhat on the smaller size, which is a good thing. I usually get the soy garlic, since the spicy it’s somewhat too spicy for me. But it’s probably just me. Service is consistent, I went here on friday night for chicken wing run, it’s somewhat more of a family oriented establishment. I say that because when we got there, we asked the lady if we’re allowed to bring beer, she said yes. So, like a fool I bought two-six packs right down the road so that I could drink beer and eat chicken wings. It was quiet when I first got there, all the sudden there’s rush of at least three families(with kids, lots of kids) came in. It felt awkard for a second, but I couldn’t stop since the wings and beers were so good. Cons: On a normal day, bringing outside drinks are not allowed. They sell the normal line up of drinks, sodas, juices, water, etc… No booze allowed, so make sure you ask ahead before bringing booze.

Worst customer service! This old Korean lady has no idea and the owner should not have put her behind counter. I always had to ask for chopsticks and napkins. Inconsistency in food quality.

Inconsistent and often times rude service. No consistency with food quality, size of wings and sauce on the wings. Will not be going here again.

Mostly the food quality seemed good and I do not really fault them for the food coming out slow, it is clearly made to order but maybe more kitchen staff would help. My biggest complaint is that the Bulgogi I ordered came very quick and half the meat was cold and dry. Felt like they served some leftovers with some fresh stuff. I told them and they said they would re-heat it but I did not want re-heated old food. I said I would just get some dumplings and they offered 16 dumplings(2 orders) as a compensation, which was still cheaper than what I had paid for but seemed a fair solution. Then they brought only 8 dumplings. Bulgogi is like $ 17 and for this I got 8 dumplings(they were good). Also, when they brought the Bulgogi they put down some rice and said«here, rice, no charge» … it is supposed to come with rice! Just not a well run spot.

Got hooked on Bonchon in NYC and wanted to find a joint in Jersey. What better place to look than one of the Jersey k-towns? Crisp, juicy, tender, tangy, savory, spicy are only some of the adjectives that can begin to describe Korean fried chicken. As someone else mentioned, the pickled radishes are clutch and my(also Asian female) friend and I spent a good hour finishing like 5 wings each because they were so spicy. Street parking. We walked for like 10 minutes in the pouring rain to get here, but so so worth it.

Korean fried chicken is by far the best chicken I have ever tasted and it is extremely addictive and should come with a warning label. Extremely crispy skin with tender juicy chicken on the inside that doesn’t taste greasy at all. They have the option of mild or spicy or you can choose to do half and half. When ordering the spicy make sure you get the pickled radish on the side to help cool your pallet. I recently found out that there is a BonChon location close to where I work so a couple of my coworkers and I decided to go pick some up for lunch. We placed our order and it took about 30 mins to cook and prepare so be aware of the wait. The parking in this area can be a bit tricky but with patience you can find a spot. The location itself is pretty large with many tables to sit and a few TV’s to watch as you wait for your order. The sides that we got(steak fries & sweet potato fries) weren’t that good. I really like the fries from boom boom chicken better but I’m here for chicken not the sides over all. ** be aware that the prices on the website are not the same as in-store for some reason and I told the woman behind the counter about it.

Don’t expect a typical restaurant. One lady pretty much ran the entire show. When we entered through the door, we had no clue if we were suppose to wait to be served or to order at the counter. Well, no one greeted us or met eyes with us so I walked over to the counter, ordered, and paid. The chicken and the free pickled radishes were absolutely DELICIOUS! I also ordered ddukbokki(spicy rice cakes) but she brought out an order of takoyaki which we didn’t order. She told us she made a mistake but said to try it since it’s good. Feeling bad(I don’t know why), we accepted the takoyaki and told her we still want our ddukbokki. The food was very good, but the 3-star rating was more for billing us for both ddukbokki AND the takoyaki we did not order.

KOREANFRIEDCHICKEN!!! Oh My GOD the best tasting chicken on earth! So unbelievably crispy, juicy, tender, flavorful, spicy, all in one bite. To cool your mouth down, they serve pickled radishes and trust me it helps. Have patience since it does take time. It usually takes 20−30mins before you start enjoying that delicious hunk of chicken. Your mouth will water, at least mine always does. Wish I lived closer because this place is a true gem. They recently expanded there menu and I’m so glad they did since I love me some Japchae. There are tons of seating and a TV to watch while you wait. Service consists of a young lady bringing over your food and cleaning it afterwards since there are no garbage cans out. Have an open wallet, this beauty isn’t cheap but hella worth it! * No delivery

I never really get mad when I order food to go… But when I call ahead of time, knowing that the food takes up to 30 minutes to make, get there, and the lady tells me «there is no pick up order and maybe you called the other location»(Nope, I showed her on my call list that I called this location)… I will definitely be pissed. And I was. I was pissed and hungry and wasted my sweet time for nothing. So my brother and I angrily stormed out, and ordered food elsewhere. So my brother and I are on our way to pick up food somewhere else, and guess who calls? That grumpy, rude lady that said that there were no pick up order. She said that she saw it in the kitchen. Wow. To add insult to injury, the prices on the website are different from what they charged me, and I got nothing but 2 cans of soda for their mistake. We called at 3:40… Got there at 4. Got rejected and went somewhere else to get food… Got a call at 4:30 about our food being ready… Got there at 5 because we had to go all the way back to pick up the wings… And ate(finally) by 5:30. I am never wasting my time here, ever, ever again.

Front lady is so rude. We were asking what was the combo and she slammed the menu in front of us. We did even call ahead of time for a party of 8. When we went in, it seemed like the ac wasn’t working so we had to sweat while eating even though we ordered soy garlic. They should be nice and be very welcoming to their customers so they keep on coming back. So not coming back to this place. Chicken was good tho.

I have been coming here since they opened and the service has gone down. I think they change owners! Chicken was good though! But if you like this chicken you will like«peck peck chicken» in teaneck its not only better but cheaper! Sorry the management needs to be nicer!

This BonChon location is one of a kind. I came for a weeknight dinner and it looked seemingly not so busy. But the orders that came in were mostly phone orders(call-ahead for pick-up). We waited for ~30 minutes for a 10 strips combo, ended up not getting the sour radish though the order-taker said it comes with our order for free. The chicken is still as great as it can get, but maybe we’ll call for pick-up next time

Food: 4.5. Was surprised how good the chicken tasted and the soy garlic sauce made them taste even better. Service-2 Waited several minutes to put our order in, thought the clerk was ignoring us. It got so bad, other people behind me tried cutting the line. We were told we were getting pickled radish on the house, but we never got them. Also was not aware of the long wait times. Do not dine in if youre in a rush. Waited at least 20 minutes for our food. Always call in. Its one of the rare places that the prices include tax, so thats cool but the service has to shape up. Hopefully my next bonchon at a different location will be much better.

Don’t judge a Bön Chon by it’s ugly chairs– I’ll admit, I was really nervous when we walked in. This is mostly a take out Bön Chon, a rare bird. The bathroom has a sign reminding you that toilet brushes are not plungers, so that explains why this location just can’t have nice things. All the questionable décor and plastic utensils aside, it was the same great spicy chicken strips I fiend after. Seriously, the food was still great. Eating it with a plastic fork was oddly harder than with chopsticks but my stomach was still happy. The experience wasn’t the best of Bön Chon but the food was still up to par. If you live nearby– just do take out. If you’ve driven three hours and it’s the only close location(ahem, maybe that’s just me?) you won’t regret going. I’m not docking them a star for the in restaurant experience because it’s meant to be take out, I get that and can respect it.
