I am so glad Phở Saigon is here. Every time we go, probably once per month or so, I have one or the other varieties of phở. The soup is delicious and well priced, the service prompt and friendly, and there is never a wait. If you know the area then you know that restaurants seem not to do well at this location. Bring your family, bring your friends, make sure this delicious and unique eatery stay in business. Leonardtown needs more food options like this.

We stopped by to try this place out last night on a Thursday night. We were seated quickly, given a menu and water. The Main Vietnamese menu have several items whited out. There is also a special menu with other popular Asians items like Thai, Korean, and Chinese items to cater to a wider customer base. We ordered 3 appetizers: grilled pork summer rolls(Cuon Bun Thit Nuong), beef stuffed grape leaves(Bo Nuong La Nho), and the lotus tips salad with shrimp and pork(Goi Ngot SenTom Thit). All were excellent, perfectly seasoned, and authentic. The best was the beef in grape leaves with chopped peanuts and scallions oil on top. The taste of this dish is amazing and addictive. I can just order that and go to town with a plain bowl of steamed rice… Next we ordered three different huge meal sized bowl of soups to test the authenticity of the cooking. Special Spicy beef & pork rice noodle soup(bun Bo hue) from the middle region of Vietnam, beef rice noodle soup(Phở) from the north region of Vietnam, special seafood and pork soup with wheat noodle soup(Hu Tieu Mi) southern region of Vietnam. We all loved all three of the soups. Each had different flavor, perfectly seasoned, deep Unami fragrant with all the right spices. It is better than many stores in Northern VA. The chef knows his stuff… We will be back to support this level of

I swore I would never eat here again after my first two terrible experiences. However, two weeks ago I found myself with a craving for delicious phở… seeing that the recent reviews for Phở Saigon were favorable I decided to give it another go. Boy am I glad I did. I’m not sure what’s happened but the food was superb and the service was FAR improved. I enjoyed my meal so much that I went back a week later and had excellent food and pretty darn good service. I am impressed and full ;)

Great spot for a quick dinner. Excellent Phở and vermicelli. Service is also excellent too. Excited to finally have some Vietnamese food in Leonardtown.

Food was great! Though we did hear the DING-DONG of the door chime when we entered(aforementioned by another Unilocaler) and decided to sit away from the entrance. The wait staff was pleasant and food was well priced. Over all, we would definitely go back! Only thing was they should definitely consider putting on some music in the back round instead of just the tv’s and other customer’s conversations.

//NOV 2015// What is going on here? I notice huge difference from my previous visit. The water doesn’t taste like old tap water anymore. Servers became friendly and approachable. Phở tastes a lot better. What can I say? Must go place. in little st Mary’s. //JAN 2105// Who go to vietnamese restaurant for the service? maybe one of the best Vietnamese restaurant in southern Maryland. They charge 20% of automatic gratitude for more than 4 – 5 people. So if you have more than three kids(+ spouse), double check your receipt. Yes they do count kids as well even if they are less than four years old.

Pleasantly surprised to find Vietnamese cuisine in Southern Maryland. Food is as near authentic Vietnamese as you can find. Service was slow, but otherwise a nice place to eat.

This is my favorite restaurant in the tripod county area, it’s in a building that’s seen many passing buisness and I hope this one stays! The food is amazing as well as the service and atmosphere. For the amount of food you get is great for the price and is always flavorful and filling. I come here usually as a first choice on my nights out to eat. There is also a bar with a nice selection. Great place, awesome food!

I started feeling a bit under the weather and really needed a good dose of some vietnamese soup. This was the only place I found in the area on Unilocal,so options were scarce and decided to try it out. My two star rating is based on the following: Egg roll i tried was $ 3.99 for two small pieces… wayyyyy too overpriced for the portion and quality was mediocre. Bonbohue soup was okay but there was barely any meat in there and noodle was over cooked so it tasted like jello, when you bite into it. It was $ 10.99 for the soup. Again, wayyy to over priced. I guess they can set whatever prices they want since it is pretty much a monopoly around this area for vietnamese food. I do not plan to go back anytime soon, but if desperate enough I would order less expensive items so that I do not set my expectations too high.

We were looking for a place for dinner and decided to try this place out. We left with a full stomach which is always good. Food was very good, I had a wide noodle dish which was very similar to a Thai dinner, drunken noodle. Service was okay not super good but good enough. Just wished they had more of a drink selection and fountain refills

If you know Phở it’s pretty awesome, if you don’t your missing out St. Mary’s County get over here and try something new! Don’t be scared because of the location with all the failed businesses that once resided here, rent is probably really cheap. Come give them a try and expand your pallet SOMD.

We had been wanting to try Phở Saigon for quite sometime now but thought we would let them work out any kinks first. I have to say we were very impressed. The Phở was delicious. The broth was intoxicating, I couldnt stop eating it! We got the Phở Saigon, Chicken Phở w/egg noodles, as well as the fried spring rolls & fresh spring rolls. Normally I love fresh spring rolls however I didnt really care for the ones here. They had an off taste about them. The cripy rolls however were divine! We ended up ordering another plate they were that good. Portion sizes for the Phở were HUGE. We ended up having lots of leftovers to take home. Service wasnt impressive at all. It could be that we were sat in the back off to the side so we were forgotten. It was a little deceiving pulling up and seeing the glow of a bud light sign but when we asked what beers were available we were told they do not currently have a liquor license. Not a deal breaker but just a heads up for anyone planning on going and enjoying a drink after work like we were… that wont be the case until they can obtain the license.

Finally, a non-chain ethnic restaurant in the area! We were in town for the holidays from Atlanta where we have plentiful Asian food, especially Vietnamese and this place has really great phở. Broth was very tasty. We got a large order for takeout, so did not get the in restaurant experience. We just reheated the broth at home and added all the noodles and beef when we were ready to eat so it was hot. And of course we added Sriracha to make it spicy and added the mint leaves they also give you, torn up into the bowls. The spring rolls were also some of the best we have had with plenty of ground pork in them. The vermicelli bowls were also pretty good, but the phở was the star. The stir fry noodle dishes with rice noodles were probably the least tasty. Flavor was bland on those. Would definitely go back again next time we are in town. We have been to Vietnam before and this food is legit.

Finally, a phở place close to me! :) Compared to the other phở places I have been to, this isn’t exactly the best but definetely not the worst(like the one by the buffet in Waldforf). Their phở is pretty good, but I got the large phở bowl and it had a lot of meat in it(fat brisket and rare meat), which isn’t what I like in my preference. But for a Vietnamese restaurant not an hour away, it’s good. I’d recommend it for those who haven’t tried phở and live close to the location of the restaurant.(I also like their stuffed grape leaves too)

Sad. food is good. Service is terrible. I wish they find servers who can speak english well. I’ve noticed some of the Unilocalers on here posted watermelon smoothies. I thought I give that a try. I drove 15 – 20 minutes down to Leonardtown to find our that… this doesn’t exist. I showed them the pictures through Unilocal and they laughed and said it’s not something they carry. Ok. must have been a limited time offer or something but they did not tell me that. Then I asked them what kind of fruit smoothie they had. He said they only had strawberry and mango. I asked if they were fresh fruits or just powdered. My server said… «I think it’s powdered» I asked if he can go find out because I like to feed my son fresh smoothie. He didn’t bother finding out. he kept on just saying I think it’s powdered and then told me I wouldn’t want to feed my son that because he may get sick from it. What?! Fine… I asked for spring roll and phở which tasted good. Then I see something on the menu that says eggs. No other description next to it. I asked my server how the eggs are cooked because I want to feed my son the eggs. He said«I am not sure how to describe it.» I asked. is it scrambled? No. Is it steamed? He said yes. He basically gave me a bowl of raw egg. I can’t believe that wasn’t easy to describe?! Below is a picture of the egg I received.

The restaurant has only been open for about two weeks and they’re still OBVIOUSLY working out the kinks. Walked in on Friday, 11.14.14 for dinner and the restaurant was packed. We were seated at the only open table in the place and were given menus. About 10 minutes later someone brought us glasses of water and asked if we were ready to place our order. We ordered spring rolls and two bowls of phở. Food was delivered in a timely manner. Spring rolls were ok, nothing impressive but our phở was decent. Kinks: Saw folks waiting at the door for a while before they were greeted. Seems as if the servers are not given sections, it’s a free for all. Long wait for the check and we ended up going up to the counter to pay since the man who brought us our check disappeared. Disorganization across the board. We’ll go again since it’s the only local phở place. Hopefully they’ve worked out the kinks by the time we get back.

Phở is delicious. I recommend P.6 with the steak brought out raw with the soup on the side so that it is not overcooked. Staff needs to work on customer service and communicating with each other. Overall, everyone was very friendly and the food made up for the waiting to be seated as well as on someone to take our order. I am excited that this restaurant has opened near me and will visit often.
