Fun to stop in and walk through(especially on First Fridays when there’s usually a musician playing), but a lot of the books are overpriced or easily found online. Go for the environment, though — it’s chock full of books and smells like an old library in there! There are plenty of interesting finds, too.

Fenwickbooks is a great, small, locally-owned bookstore that also offers used DVDs, a few CDs, and a large vinyl record collection. The owner is extremely friendly, and also accepts trade-ins. The vast collection of books are used(some are new, though), and are very cheap. The records are underrated — he’s probably the best vinyl dealer in the area, and only deals in the finest vintage stuff(crooners, jazz, classic rock, soundtracks). The store is a former bar, I assume. The counter is indeed a dark wood bar, with a mirror behind the counter. There’s always classical music playing, and there are plenty of chairs and sitting areas to browse through books. The layout of the store is a bit cramped, but that’s on purpose. There’s also a small brick room in the back for Sci-Fi, and a colorful area for the children’s section. You can also order some books online, but where’s the fun in that? Note: Closed on Mondays.
