This is a shout out to Carmen who cashiers at the Leominster Shaws. I tried to do a Shaws survey so that I could tell them that she’s a great cashier but apparently there’s a limit to the number of surveys I can fill out and it wouldn’t let me so I decided to Unilocal instead. Anyway, Carmen is very good at her job and I’m sorry I wasn’t able to say that to Shaws directly. Come to think of it, the meat department people are excellent as well. Very helpful.

I’ve been to this Shaw’s several times now and really quite like it — is it a touch more expensive? Meh, I guess. Personally, I’m used to shopping at Whole Foods, so the deals here seem fabulous to me — it’s all about perspective! Anyway, lots of these chain grocery stores can be the same, but this one stands out for six –yes, six — reasons: 1) It always seems clean 2) I can get in and get out relatively quickly 3) The parking lot is easy to navigate(I would know, since I used to drive up here specifically just to turn around when Route 2 was under construction) 4) It’s a bit smaller than other Shaw’s I’m used to in New England, and thus gives it more of a homey, intimate feeling 5) For being so small and not exactly located in a mecca of healthy eating, there are a TON of organic and natural foods, along with plentiful plant-based options as well. This particular location has an impressive selection of Gardein products(featuring things I can’t get back in Maine — my mom has fantastically hooked me up with their crabless cakes and porkless bites so far; can’t wait to try more!). 6) Shaw’s has the best potato salad of any grocery store in the world. It’s a fact. I’ve taste tested most of them, and theirs is good enough to standalone as a meal(with maybe the accompanying Coke Zero… what? Vegetarians can have cheat days, too, y’know!). Definitely my go-to when I’m in the area and need to pick something up!

I like how late this store is open, and it offers a good selection of food, but it is waaay too expensive.

i love shopping here. they have good weekly deals on the products i want. Neuro sleep water, coke, chicken bacon ranch flatbread pizza, reasonably priced seafood and delicious m&m cookies in the bakery. Their cashiers are always super nice and their store is clean and well laid out.

I don’t know much about supermarkets and all, but all I can tell you is that when I shop here, I spend a lot more money than anywhere else. Their own employees tell me that they are very expensive.
