This review has been edited: I am editing this review and changing my rating from 2 to 5. Why? Because of the customer service I received after posting this review. I got a call from Neil whose father started the business 30 years ago. He apologized and asked for details. I told him I appreciated the call and would amend my review. He said that was necessary as that is the point of reviews and they messed up. In our conversation, I mentioned that ADT was not scheduled for another week when I am back in town. He asked if he could come over and speak with me about my services. He apologized, discussed my service with me and I chose to renew my agreement with Atronic. They came out today(10⁄13) to get me hooked back up and I had some requests that they accommodated. I appreciate a local company that takes pride in their work and is not too proud to prove themselves again and ask for your business. ___________________________ This review is more about the service than the product. I moved to KC three years ago and the home I bought had Atronic. I contacted them and continued the service. I wanted to do business with them since they are local and not go with someone like ADT. I switched to Google Fiber 9 months ago and got rid of my land line phone. My security system would not work without the land line. I called and there were some expensive wireless hook up charges and in addition, the monthly fee went up $ 10 a month. I asked to have the set-up waived since I was a current customer. They would not do it. I decided to cancel service since I never use it. 9 months later I decide I want to re-activate my service. I call them to arrange it and they no longer charge the set-up fee, but the increased monthly fee. Fine. I am told I will get a call with someone to arrange it. Three weeks later I have not heard from anyone. I call back and am told that a form was emailed to me and they were waiting to get it back… from three weeks ago. I never received it. They sent another and it went into my Junk folder, but I was watching for it this time. In those three weeks, I had a call from ADT and went through a quote process with them. It was a better deal, much better actually, and I said no because I wanted to keep it local. Atronic is now waiting on me to fill out a new form(never mind I was already a customer and they have one on file) and they will get me on a service call list once I return it. ADT offered to have a Service Technician out the next day if I would sign up with them. Hello, ADT! Where have you been all my life? If you want to give your money to a company that wants it, I would suggest looking elsewhere. There are other local options.

We had ADT at our old house because we got a free system by signing up with them etc. They were like $ 34.95/mo or something back then(5 yrs ago) and that was with a 24 mo contract. One time my kid set it off and we didn’t get our PIN entered on time, they called 24 hours later to check on us! We moved into a new house that had a MUCH better system, contacts on all the windows, glass breaks, motions detectors everywhere, carbon monoxide – already installed. The panel said Atronic so I called to get a quote: $ 25 a month and NO contract! ADT wanted a new contract and a bunch of headaches to monitor at our new address. I have also been very happy with the service. I set the alarm off in the middle of the night letting my dog out(so pleasant), they call in like 20 seconds and demand a security password before they let you off the phone. Once, the back door blew open and I came home to a police officer’s card on my counter(good thing I did my dishes!). In 5 year’s time we feel very happy with Atronic and their monitoring plus it’s cheaper with no contracts.
