Kauffman’s Coffee Tea & Spice Shop

Fantastic selection of coffee, tea and an unique and wonderful selection of herbs and spices. The staff, which is usually the owner, are knowledgeable about the selection, are charming and funny and friendly. My only complaint is I can’t seem to find where the hours are posted, which is why 4 out of 5. I’d give 4.5 if I could. Parking at the gas station next door, along with an ATM as they only take cash.

Fantastic coffee. Kauffman’s is the original coffee shop, selling fantastic beans since before coffee shops were hip. Stop in for a pot of French pressed coffee and take home some beans. This is a true coffee lover’s shop so skip it if you are looking for a coffee flavored milkshake. But if you love coffee this is the spot. Kauffman’s is a Harrisburg Area treasure!

This is where you sit down, turn off your smart phone (Betty has a sign requesting it) and chat with the owner over a French pressed pot of fresh ground coffee. This is a rare treat! I don’t even want you to go, it’s my secret coffee place!

Excellent selection of fine loose leaf tea. Ask about their special blends. The Rooibos is my favorite. Great service, the shopkeeper is very knowledgeable. Wish I had known about this little café sooner! Reminds me of Europe. Note: They only accept cash or check.

My older sister started taking me here when I was a little kid, teaching me how to use a French press and giving me my very first bag of chocolate-​covered espresso beans. Now, as an adult, I come here when I want to choose from the best tea and coffee available. Any questions that I have are answered without any hesitation and I leave with a smile on my face.

Are you kidding me?! My jaw dropped when I saw a bad review of this place. I dont know how this place could get a bad review. The staff is sooo knowledgeable. They have a rule that you cant use the F-​word in the shop («Folgers»). They believe in the best of the best coffee. The coffee is top notch, their loose-​leaf teas are second to none. This place reminds me of a European small shop. Go there once on a Saturday and get a two person European press for $ 2 for any of the top coffees. Sit down and within 5 minutes you feel like you know the people. Its a shop that has been around for 30 years. And yes, the German Shop next to it has great meats and my lord is their bread delicious. Try the Yirgacheffe coffee from Africa, it is incredible. Cant wait until my coffee is out!!!
