They were not able to retrieve data from my Mac’s hard drive when it crashed. Luckily a friend of mine told me they aren’t great with Apple products and was able to get 95% of my files from the hard drive. However, they installed a new hard drive for me in record time.

I feel like it’s my civic duty to tell everyone about this place! I found out about Alliance through word of mouth and am now paying it forward.
I took my 2 year old Toshiba laptop in to get looked at in June to The Geek Squad and was thoroughly disgusted at the price they wanted to charge me for a simple diagnosis. So disgusted, I actually bought a new Dell for about $ 200 more than their estimate. I put the old laptop away and didn’t think about it. However, a few people told me about Alliance, vouched for their technical skills and economical pricing so I went into the LeMoyne store with my old laptop when I needed to retrieve some data off of it.
The storefront was bigger than I expected and in addition to technical support, Alliance offers refurbished and new machines (both laptop and desktop), as well as a good array of pc peripherals and parts. Not only did I get a free diagnosis, I got my corrupted hard drive replaced and a full data retrieval of info I thought I had lost forever … all at a very modest price tag.
I contemplated kidnapping Rich Peterson, the tech who not only fixed my laptop but also gave me some great insight to a free anti virus program that is superior to the AVG that I had been using (it’s avira, by the way). He never made me feel like a technological cretin and was very patient and extremely helpful. I read the reviews on the other Alliance location and to be truthful, I think Rich may have been the differentiating factor in my positive review of this place.
That being said, there is usually only 1 tech and 1 floor person working at the same time so, I will caution beforehand … if you are looking for quick turnaround, you may have to pay extra for it. Since my Toshiba is my back up laptop, I had the luxury of time and of course, that eliminated a lot of my stress in getting this laptop fixed.
