Great shop. clean and inviting. No junk. All the proceeds go directly to the handicapped. Can’t beat that.

Best thrift shoppe in the Chicagoland area. Lemont is lucky to have such a wonderful place to shop. Worth the trek from the big city for sure. Light years better than Goodwill due to the quality and care they put into their merchandise. They test, repair, and organize all items in a way that is a rarity in most thrift shops. You definitely want to go here for electronics, books, DVDs, clothes, jewelry, hard goods, just about everything! And they have a lot more furniture in these days too. And all your money goes to a good cause — helping those with disabilities receive services and resources. Thank you Second Chance for all you do!

I had not been in here in quite a few years, since this was the old Helping Hand Thrift Store. It appears the store has changed little in that number of years and that is a good thing to me. This is what a thrift store used to be like, before thrifting became so common. The type of place where they put out old electronic equipment or vintage knick knacks that some would consider antiques. Clothing selections were decent for the price, which was very reasonable in comparison to a Savers or Goodwill.

If you like antique and thrift shopping, this is the place to go. You can find antique shops nearby. The Second Chance thrift shop kinda works like the Goodwills. The organisation is called Garden Center Services, which is helping people with developmental disabilities. They have a lot of decorating items in the front, nice book section and kitchen items. Half of the store is clothing. You can find it in the back. The clothing is pretty good arranged. I always seem to find something that I «need», haha! It s always nice to go to thrift stores to get nice little things that not a lot of people have. :-)
