Mmmmm. Quaint, yummy and good home style cooking with large portions and good prices. Love mom and pop places like these! We got the mountain man plate which comes with two eggs any style, grits, sausage, potatoes and a biscuit smothered in gravy. I got the chili with cornbread and added some Frank’s hot sauce. We topped it all off with some monkey bread! Obviously there were leftovers– half of the chili(and they offered me another side of corn bread on the house) and some grits, taters and a sausage– second lunch for later! Definitely stop by if you’re in the area! Love the décor, the homey feel and the friendly service!

I feel so lucky to have found this place on our trip up here from charleston sc. Absolutely wonderful little café with awesome home cooked fresh food. Willing to make you whatever you want for breakfast even if it’s not on the menu! Well worth the trip! We can’t wait to come back!

It is hard to find homemade country cooking anymore. Too many off the wall restaurants in Asheville. This is my favorite place for breakfast and the owner is a sweetheart! You can tell she puts her heart and soul into her business.

I’ve now had two meals here, and I was pretty impressed by both of them! We first had lunch — my husband loved his Turkey Creek Melt, I loved my grilled chicken tenders platter, my mom loved her veggie burger! Their Mac and cheese is delicious and creamy, and their green beans are well-seasoned. Breakfast the next day was pretty good, but their gravy leaves a little bit to be desired on the flavor front, and the biscuits are really made to go with the gravy. Overall I was a happy customer!

Best breakfast I have had in a very long time! I love homemade country cooking! It’s rare to find a restaurant that cooks from scratch now!

Great little country restaurant! Home style food with down home service. Priced right with ample servings. The offer all you can eat on Sunday’s. Worth the drive out of town. Try the daily specials.

Great Turkish food. We tried the Karni Yarik, lahmujin and the dolma. All three of them flawless. The stuffed grape leaves were good, but could have been divine, if they had thrown in a few currants. As far as dessert, get the kazandibi: heavenly. Something between pudding and crème caramel but better than both. Who am I kidding? The only relationship between this place and Turkish food is the name, which comes from 18th century British epicures, who mistakenly thought the big birds brought back to Europe from the American colonies were actually from the country of Turkey. I figure, if they can bastardize the name and make it stick, so can I. Hey, Unilocal categorizes this place as Turkish. Actual review: We came in on a whim, and the place became quickly packed with locals. Not surprising, as the prices are reasonable, and the food is good. The menu is surprisingly varied, as evidenced by my photos of it. I had the BBQ burger with a side of sweet tater fries. The burger was good, with pulled pork and excellently fresh good cole slaw covering the patty. It could have used a bit more BBQ flavor, perhaps more smoke, or sauce, but it was good quality meat, thick and appropriately juicy. Now the sweet potato fries have got to be the BEST I HAVEEVERHAD in my life. Yup. They must have plucked these suckers right out the ground before cooking them to PERFECTION. Worth coming back for, by themselves. Wifey had the regular burger, with the fried okra. Same burger review as mine, except not BBQ. Her okra was really fresh, and perfectly cooked, THAT’s how it’s done. You just can’t get okra this good from Tupelo Honey. Service was very friendly, but the servers were cute teens from the local high school, excited about homecoming and such. Service was pretty slow, owing to their inexperience. The owner’s mom was operating the cash register, and had a little difficulty working the transaction, but hey, that’s part of the charm. This is not the kind of place to hurry through. Unfortunately, there’s not much in the way of authentic Turkish food here, not even Bonomo’s Turkish Taffy. Enjoy the great food, atmosphere, curios, and local color instead.

Nice little family owned, country café. Great spinach salad with Oh so yummy chicken. They really seasoned the chicken well. With a side of sweet potato fries, Yummm!!! My mom had the Caesar Salad with chicken, she liked that too. Thank you for a nice lunch.

Absolutely adorable! Ate there for the first time on Saturday morning, October 12, 2013. We ordered the Mountain breakfast(I think that was the name) and it came with eggs, homestyle fried potatoes, bacon and biscuits and gravy. Everything was tasty, especially the potatoes. They had some kind of seasoning with a little bit of kick on them and they were sooooo good. We will definitely be back! I can’t wait to try one of their home cooked lunches. Just wish they were open for dinner, too! Oh, and the décor is perfect… everything was clean, I didn’t see any dust anywhere!

OK First of all I have never Unilocal before now but I felt like I should with this place, I had went here this morning for the first time since their opening. Well walked in going to have a sit I see a bench that look like it came out of a church seats and then noticed that there is a dresser with cake on top of it. The was had old rusty tin on it. Hard and uncomfortable to sit there and wait for our food. We order french toast. Then we order what we want a few minutes later the waiter had asked if I wanted to change my order to something else that is a $ 1.50 more but I didn’t want that. If I wanted to order that then I would have order it, After the waiter asked my boyfriend if he want to change his order he said OK change it. He had the healthy Hiker(it comes with bacon, eggs, and french toast). So while we was sitting there looking around the place like we do every where we go. We noticed that the heat ducts was nasty with dust and the window panel had a dead bug. My boyfriend had went to the bathroom, he came back said that there was cob web, the paper towels was in the floor, it was nasty! So we get our food, its was cold, French toast is supposed to be sweet and Cinnamon. Well to my surprise I had a mouth full of bread and eggs that had powder sugar on it. If I wanted eggs and bread that is what I would have order. I really don’t like eggs not unless it has cheese and other things with it. Everything was so plain with no seasoning to it. But anyway I would not recommend this place what so ever to any one. This place doesn’t deserve not even a 1 star but no star for me!!!
