HORRIBLE!!! Worse experience ever. It took 1.5 hours for 5 sandwiches. Grilled cheese was so tough you couldn’t bite it and the medium well burger was raw. I don’t know about your Pappy, but my Pappy would have fired the entire kitchen staff tonight and cooked the meals himself! Oh, and it cost $ 40 for this crap!

While looking for a late night meal on a weeknight, your choices are usually limited to diners and bars. Diners around this area aren’t open 24 hours so we settled on Pappy’s Schoolhouse. It’s a small local bar. Bar foo can usually go one of two ways… frozen food that you could have picked up at the supermarket yourself or delicious homemade food. This place falls squarely into the homemade category. All of the food was scratch made. They even smoke their own meat! As soon as I heard this, I had to order a brisket sandwich. I was glad I did! Served on a delicious roll with a side of house made barbeque sauce, I was tempted to another one to go! It’s clearly a local place where everyone knows everyone else, but they made us out-of-towner’s feel welcome too. The waitress actually stopped by our table a few times just to chat. Our dinner took a little longer than expected due to a minor mix up by a new staff member in the kitchen. We didn’t complain since we were in no hurry, but they voluntarily gave us each free dessert to make up for the delay. When do you ever see that type of great customer service anymore?

Went in on a Friday night around 7pm. The climate and people are nice. Ordered the New England clam chowder and was very satisfied. The pizza was mediocre. Overall, nice place to stop in for a bite to eat.

Friendly staff with good prices and the food we ordered was very good. French dip was delicious and taco night-$ 2 great deal. Would definitely come back.

Saturday night karaōke. Place was busy with mostly locals. They have a good beer selection — Flying Fish on tap, Yuengling Black & Tan in bottle. The prices were a bit high for the area though. I felt uncomfortable the entire time I was there, even though it seemed most people were having fun. I wouldn’t go back

Great little local place near Beltzville Lake. Outdoor pet friendly seating. Good beer selection. Homemade 5 Alarm perogies are a must try! Burgers and sandwiches have a great selection of topping options. We had a burger and buffalo cheese steak. My boyfriend couldn’t stop saying how much he enjoyed his cheeseburger. My chicken cheese steak was one of the best I’ve had.
