The beers are great. The Coup D’etat is over the top. Likewise, the food is excellent and service was very good. Will come back soon. Disregard the negatives. You owe it to yourself.

Great concept. A brewpub with Eastern European food. Service was courtesy and prompt. Food was just like your Polish grandma would make. The beer was over the top. Especially their liquor infused line. Setting is like a European lodge in the Alps. Well worth the trip.

Food is ok we only had the loaded tots which was very filling. The one star is for the terrible attitudes of tje servers. They pass food menus above and between your head when your sitting at the bar. We werr clearly watching a game on the TV and she switched it and when i asked why she claimed«someone asked». When i said we were watching the original game the one«waitress» got a full blown attitude threw the remote control down and yelled ok ok ill switch it back. HORRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE blended with ok beer, Dont waste your time!

Stopped with my dad after grabbing a Christmas tree up the road. Presently surprised. Got the sampler, fried pickles and potato pancakes— got the polish sampler to go. Amazing! And that’s coming from someone who’s mother makes her own pierogies from scratch! Must stop if you’re in the area

This is the real deal. Im not even sure where to start… a polish brew pub in carbon county, my expectation werent that high and that was a mistake. First the beers. I ordered the queens’s guard american pale. Instead of the usually over hopped and unbalanced beer we’ve come to expect from this style i was served a perfectly balanced perfectly wonderful ale. A good malt sweetness is well paired with citrus american hops. Its perfect. In fact it might be my favorite american pale ever. get ready to eat when it comes to the food. I was out hiking in lehigh gorge for 8 hours and im still stuffed from my knauchwust and sauerkraut. The sausage was smoked perfectly(which is so rare) and paired nicely with the well prepared sauerkraut and mustatd which had a balanced acidity a floral notes — the hallmark of well prepared cabbage and something rare to find outside of europe. The pieogies were a mssterpiece of carb and fat. The key here is simple dishes executed well with well-paired flavors. Its great when you find someone who can do that right! Service was awesome and fast. Eat at this place! Make a special trip if you have to.

We went on a very busy day and the staff were definitely overwhelmed. Even though service was slow, the food was good and we didn’t spend too much. The atmosphere was enjoyable and apparently they have lots of activities that go on around those parts. Stop by.

Pierogis were delicious– but I was not pleased that we were charged $ 1.00 for sour cream, which not only did we not receive, but also we didn’t ask for. We picked them up to go and didn’t notice the charge on the receipt until we were home and they were closed.

Been there 4 times… specials are usually good and the pub food also good… beers vary on what your individual taste is but the service is slow and inattentive… last 2 times there in last month I waited nearly 20 minutes to get a beer and another 10 minutes to order… good thing I wasn’t on business or rushed… will go back but hoping for better service… my growler came home empty this time as a result

To say I was shocked by how good the beer and food was here is an understatement. When I pulled up and saw the tiny little wood building that houses the brewpub I had reservations. However when I sat down and started trying beers I was blown away. Along with Red Castle Brewing they also serve Insurrection Brewing beers; Insurrection specializes in liquor infused beers. It’s a great, and delicious, idea. Zealot, which is a strawberry beer infused with brandy, is very fruity but not sickeningly sweet, and has a high alcohol content to boot. Additionally on the Red Castle side I had the watermelon shandy and DaMoat, which is a hazelnut brown ale. The watermelon shandy was cool and refreshing, both citrusy and fruity. DaMoat was very interesting, almost fizzy on the tongue, and while it had notes of hazelnut and vanilla it was not super sweet. I would totally drink all three again and I am a bit sad I did not get to try more. The food is outrageously good. I love Polish food in general and they did not disappoint. This might sound crazy, but their kielbasa was literally some of the best I’ve ever had. And guess what? For six bucks you can take home a pound of their kielbasa! Almost everything they serve you can buy in bulk, and because the food is so delicious, I’m going to stock up next time I’m there. I went with a someone who is from Lithuania and has been to Poland, and even she was taken by the food; she said the food was totally legit European style food and that the interior did feel a lot like a pub in Eastern Europe would. I am head-over-heels for their haluski, which I had never had before. While noodles and cabbage must not sound all that great, believe me when I say it is the ultimate comfort food. Their halupki is also tasty, not the best I’ve ever had, but in good form. I’m dreaming of the next time I can get back to Red Castle, seriously. Are there breweries and Polish joints near me? Yeah, but I still feel like there’s something really special about this place. I did not have a single bad thing, and the service here was prompt and helpful. I can’t wait until I can get back up there, get some growlers of delicious beer and a ton of tasty food. Keep doing what you’re doing, Red Castle.

Oh, the pierogis! The potato is silky smooth, the sauerkraut tasty and not too tart. Did not try the buffalo.(?fried didn’t seem right). Shares the polish plate for tastes of salty yummy kielbasa and stuffed cabbage and that noodle cabbage comfort food. The breading on the onion rings is really good. Oh, the beer. Plenty of choices, smooth and tasty. Not at all cloudy like lesser home brews. Cool vibe.

I stopped here after a hike to the top of Glen Onoko. Jim Thorpe is always too crowded and expensive. This place is situated in a great location. The menu has simple fare(I’d recommend noting on the menu the items that come with mustard) and great beer. The interior tables are all uneven so bring some wooden shims. There are plentiful napkins on the tables to jam under the legs just in case. We had quite an experience thanks to some patrons sitting outside. As I pulled in, I could tell they were the kind of people that I didn’t want to sit near, so we entered the restaurant. Service was quick. We slipped in just before the late night menu started but the waitress, Rachael, gave us a choice between the two. My date was allergic to sesame seeds, so Rachael confirmed that the rolls didn’t have any for us before ordering. That’s a rarer allergy than most, but all caution was observed. While we had some fantastic drinks, I could see that the staff was having some problem. Shortly after, two women entered the building, Leane K.(a poor Unilocal!reviewer) being one of them. This woman began yelling at the top of her lungs at our waitress, who she had made to cry, and insisted that she«step outside». The manager managed to diffuse the situation with aplomb and Rachael tries to do her best to pick up the pieces after a virulent verbal assault filled with the threat of physical harm. Leane K. should have been cited with disorderly conduct but I guess her white trash ass got off with a warning. The rest of our meal was fantastic. Hope I get to return soon!

The only reason I’m even giving this restaurant 1 star is because the food was delicious. However the service was the most awful experience I have ever encountered. I went to this place with a large group of friends, one of which had a severe dairy allergy and notified the waitress of the fact. The waitress seemed to have no idea of any allergy protocol and then proceeded to seem annoyed with having to the pass the message along to the cooking staff. It took 25 minutes to get drinks and sodas. Appetizers never happened. The food was great when it came out. Until our waitresses friend came out and told us to ‘eat her ass and never come back’ and called the police on us. Things obviously spiraled down. I have never in my life experience service like this. I have to say the manager handled everything very well despite the horrible service he was trying to manage. This was such a shame because the food was delicious. Poor Rob. If u ever have a waitress named Rachael. Please. Instruct them to eat YOUR ass. U might get better service.

Very good food matched up with solid beer selection. I got the BBQ burger and fries. The sauce was really good, two onion rings on top, very good burger grilled to perfection! Fries were not as good as the burger but hey you can’t win them all. My wife had the handmade peirogies that were some of the best we ever had. The staff was friendly to us and our dog, they made sure he had a nice big bowl of cold water on the covered porch. The beers were varied and quite tasty, one of the beers was blended with a blood orange vodka, very subtle but interesting addition to the malty flavors. The place was very close to a busy road which made the outside dining a little noisy. Overall a solid place to grab a beer and a burger. Next time I am passing by I will have to stop to try another item.

This place was awesome! Stopped in because they were a local brew pub/wine bar… a WINEBAR… but then the food was without a doubt why we will definitely be coming back(beer and wine was delicious also!) They have a great selection of traditional Polish foods, you name it they have it and it is the best I’ve had besides my nanas! Have a great selection of non-polish foods too. Great place to stop if your in the Jim Thorpe area.

I was really really really impressed with this place. Greg and I came here last night before going to Lowes. It was a long day at work and we just wanted something that was different. Being Polish myself I knew what the food should taste like and it did not disappoint. There are many different ways to make halupki’s and the owner made these just how my Nana makes them.(Greg got the polish platter & I got the castle burger) But in the beginning we got the Polish Hangover soup and it was heavenly!!! Ok so I am getting out of order… parking, not an issue. Snow was in the way but Helloooooo its winter. — Walked in was greeted right away from the owner or manager, told us we could choose where we sat, we chose the bar — Our waitress was nice, gave us samples of whatever we wanted. Holy crap they have wine on tap! I had the red concord tasting one and that was delicious. — The soup was brought out promptly in a crock with crackers. Had a lot of different meats and was creamy. Our waitress said it had a bit of a kick to it and I didn’t think so. I thought it had the perfect amount of spice. But it was that kind of soup that just fills you up and leaves a warm feeling in your belly. The perfect thing for a cold day ***Bonus the manager made an extra batch of loaded fries with chili, onions, bacon and cheese. He brought them out and asked if we wanted them. We agreed and holy crap they were delicious. Everyone should order them at least once in their life. — the meal came out and omg I was impressed. The fries were freshly cut and the burger was huge. The manager said«Its not hard to make fresh food, we don’t use frozen products» which was nice to hear. The only complaint that I had was that there was mustard on the kielbasa because it wasn’t on the menu that he was adding that. I wasn’t going to complain, so I wiped off as much as I could. The burger tasted great though and I would order it again in a heartbeat. Greg got the polish platter and ate as much as he could. We took home a large to go box. — the restaurant is unique, the roof reminds me of houses you would see in Alaska. Something I think the bar area could improve on are more comfortable bar seats. But other then that I will be back. ****I forgot to ask if they do catering, I hope they do. I’ll call later. Posting pics shortly

After finally going back in a day they were open past 3pm… Was worth the trip. The brewmaster was amazing. The beer, so so. Better than some other places I’ve been, and yes, I’d go back. Good wise, the loaded fries were awesome. I’d go again just for them alone.
