Lehi’s John Hutchings Museum of Natural History

Way cooler than I expected. My wife is a geology nut; how did we not know about this mineral collection? It is huge. Stuffed bird collection is petty big. Good for scout groups too.

Now, don’t think that it gets five stars for being like the Smithsonian. In comparison to great museums, this is nothing. I give it five stars because what it did with the space and resources it has.
Situated in a parking lot next to a gym, you could probably drive by this place without even looking twice. Seriously, this is a «don’t judge a book by its cover» museum.
There is a little bit of everything here. They had displays for animals, dinosaurs, rocks and gems, and even a history of Utah. There was a stuffed eagle in one corner that my baby didn’t exactly want to look at, but I made her =) I’m mean, I know.
To enjoy this place, you have to have the mindset of going to a place with a lot of charm and love. I think it’s a great representation of the state of Utah and worth visiting if you have a little spare time.
