Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point

We love farm country! We have a membership to Thanksgiving Point so we go often. When you first walk into the building to pay there are a few small activities for the kids. I wish there were more. There is a small gift shop and my kids tend to go into there and ask for toys. I wish there were a few more engaging activities so they didn’t go straight to the store. Luckily the people who work in there are always super nice and are understanding when my kids play with the stuff in there. Outside they have lots of great farm animals. The pens that the animals are in are a little small but they are always clean. The animals come right up to the gate so you can pet them. My kids always love the pony rides and the wagon ride. Those are included in your admission so make sure you take advantage of them if you go. Also there is a building down by where you wait for the wagon ride and if you go in there you will find lots of fun activities for the kids. There are some tunnels you can crawl through like you are an ant and a few other fun things the kids like. It’s also a good place to go sit if it’s too hot or too cold outside. We usually spend about an hour and a half there. It is a fun quick thing to do to get you out of the house.

One of my favorite places to take my toddler and 5 year old. They can feed animals, ride ponies, and take a tractor ride. They also offer other activities throughout the week too.

I don’t know anyone who isn’t crazy about Thanksgiving Point and all the venues they offer for families. Farm Country is very entertaining for about 1.5 hours. Kids enjoy seeing the wide variety of animals, the pony and wagon ride, and feeding the goats vending machine oats.

This is an expensive waste of time. We thought we were going to a real farm, but it was like some suburban idea of what a farm should be– for people who have no idea because they never leave the city. Our three year old daughter wanted to meet some farm animals, so we drove down from Ogden to spend the day based on what we saw on their website. All the animals were trapped in pens and cages and you couldn’t interact with them other than to stick a finger through a cage or two. The «hayride» was more like a tractor pull– no hay, and it rides around a parking lot and some dumpsters before heading back. We have been to REAL farms and thought this was one, but it was a complete waste of our time, our gas and our money. We were thought there in about 45 minutes and paid $ 30 for our family thinking we’d make a day of it. We will *never* go back and would never recommend this to anyone as a legitimate farm of any kind. If you’ve ever been to a REAL working farm, you’d know that the animals aren’t trapped in cages, you feed them real food and not pellets and you can walk around the farm, learn things, do hands on activities and spend the day. This was just awful and the waste of money was ridiculous.

For the amount you have to pay its not that big and not that interesting…
The wait for the wagon ride was way too long for my little kids and they only found 4 animal stations interesting.
Our favorite things were the soil-​to-​market classroom and the chicks at the entrance. The rest of it consisted of some animals penned up in a cage with no educators for the kids. Maybe it’s all most kids need but to me the whole place was overpriced.

Easter Eggstream is terrible. Plan on long lines. No consideration if you pre-​buy tickets and have them at will call. Tickets window only had one window open. Plenty of people who could help sitting around. Super crowded. My 1 year old got 3 eggs that had prizes that were major choking hazard. Parents were mean. Not worth the ticket. Will not plan on coming to this again! And cupbob (spicy) not the best choice for only apparent food vendor.

Our kids LOVE this place. We have been here a few times and the joy of coming here has not diminished. There are quite a few animals to see and pet. You can pay a little extra for a pony ride. This place lets you get up and close to the animals. The grounds are well kept and it’s just a cute little place to spend a but if time. This is on our list of places to come when we are in the SLC area.

Honestly if you have a TP membership this place is perfect. It’s small but a great way to spend a few hours. The animals are so cute and I hear its pretty empty most days. We had fun and will definitely be going back.
If I didn’t have a membership, I think I would be underwhelmed but I did think it was more affordable than this is the place or other petting zoos.

Great place to go, especially if you have a Thanksgiving Point membership. My daughter loves to run around and see all the animals, as well as ride the ponies over and over and over.
Bring some quarters to buy food to feed the horses, donkeys and cows.

They were rated as having the best mocha in town — I believe it. Their mocha was ‘decadent’ as their description says — I had 2 shots of espresso in mine, and it tasted like a chocolate-​y (but not that overly sweet or overwhelming) mixture with the strongness of the espresso. Mmm. Have it with their pricy chocolate-​dipped Rice Krispie treat, and it’s quite a divine dessert. They have a 2-​hour limit on their ‘free’ wireless with purchase, but if you ask nicely (and tip well), the staff will be more proned in giving you another replacement wireless card. Parking can be a pain, but if you go there on Sundays, there are some spots you can grab about a block away past the bridge (and free).

If you avoid 2 buck Tuesday then this place gets 5 stars! The kids loved spending the morning here. There are plenty of animals to feed, indoor areas to play and explore, pony rides, and a wagon ride. Make sure you brings quarters to feed the animals and maybe a baggie or small cup to hold the food so it doesn’t all end up on the ground before you get to them!

Kids love this place. There are goats, horses, chickens, turkeys, cows, donkeys, and other animals. Kids can ride the horses and the entire family can go for a wagon ride.

My kids LOVE this place. They will ask out of the blue– «Mom, can we go to The Farm? Please!!». There are so many different farm type animals for them see and sometimes pet (if they come close to the fence). They love the pony ride and the wagon ride. My daughter has recently decided that we need to move to a farm– that’s how much she loves it. I think it’s a little pricey though for a visit. Even the grown ups have to pay even though we don’t get a pony ride. LOL

Alright, I hated this experience personally but it is GREAT for the kids. I’m just not into farm animals and such, if you know what I mean. But the kids loved seeing the animals, and the facility is quite nice (including the café area).
Good value for a couple hours of entertaining your children.

Farm Country is a great family outing. It offers wagon rides, pony rides, petting areas, places to feed a host of farm animals (including sheep, goats, lamas, chickens, turkeys, horses and cows), and a place to learn how milk a cow. Barnyard boo is a fun, small kid oriented activity near Halloween — a must hit in October if you have small kids. It’s among the reasons we have a seasons pass to Thanksgiving Point.
