I too have long curly hair and I was skeptical of Snips after reading a previous review. I chose Snips because it was close and the barber shop next door had worse reviews. After carefully explaining to the lady that I just wanted to trim the back which was getting dangerously close to mullet-like proportions, she set to work with the scissors. Not only did my precious tufts survive, they were left much more tame and manageable.
Don’t let the giant poster-sized menus of out-dated (if they were ever dated to begin with) coifs scare you — if you’re lucky you might get to see someone order a number 18. However, SNIPS cannot be held liable for such a breach of style. They do great work.

My son and I went in for haircuts and both stylist ignored my request. For my son I asked that they keep his scruffy curly hair, he ended up with a standard short in the back parted on the side boy cut. It’s hard to tell a 5 year old that he will get his curls back in a few months.
I told my stylist that she need to leave my thick hair longer on the sides or it would just stick out. After cutting it short and texturizing she coated it in gel to keep it from sticking up.
2 stars because it was clean and our hair didn’t look awful.

Fantastic. My husband got a trim and I got a cut and color. Knowledgeable and they fixed what the last guy did wrong. Will be coming back.
