Rusty’s Hair Salon & Day Spa

I’ve been going to Rusty’s Salon for 2 or 3 years now and am extremely happy with the service I receive, Janeth (beautician), Joy (massage therapist), Kandy (hairdresser) and Val (hair washer — best scalp massages EVER) are fantastic! I always look forward to my appointments and am confident I’m in expert hands. The atmosphere at Rustys is warm, inviting and friendly. I highly recommend Rusty’s if you’re looking for a new salon.

Joy is super friendly, she worked on the knots on my neck and I felt so relaxed afterwards. Just like many other spa places, they tried to sell me beauty products after the massage, but I did not feel obligated to buy them

I would give my experience here one star were it not for Joy, my massage therapist. She was wonderful and this review is no reflection on her. However, the facial I received was the worst of my life. I literally have chemical burns on my face. I complained of burning during treatment, but the aesthetician said my skin was dehydrated and that was the cause of the burning. She proceeded to slop on some kind of masque which burned more and ended up my nose, blocking my ability to breathe. I was supposed to go out to dinner with family tonight, but now it looks like I will be staying home to nurse my second degree burns. Horrible.

My hairdresser of seven years, who did hair on the side since she became a teacher, ditched me this year so I’ve been coming to see Bunny for a cut and highlight since May for a total of four visits so far in 2015. I love growing my hair out when it gets warm so under Bunny’s care my hair grew out to the longest it has ever been which was about two inches below my collarbone. Everyone loved that long hair look with the highlights bleaching blonder.
Anyway, my longish, fine hair was dry from the summer so I was more than ready to cut it all off and go a reddish copper last Saturday. Bunny consulted with me for a LONG TIME to pick out the right colors. She completely understood the look that I was going for. I initially disagreed about the base color but went with her suggestion to go browner so the highlights would pop. I got the best red hair coloring service EVER that I can remember. The cut was a choppy bob which I can style several different ways with a shaved strip on one side that can be easily hidden. Bunny is just as fearless as me so she has no problems creating an edgier look. The haircut and color is SUPER FLATTERING!!! I am estatic with how it turned out!!!
The icing on this cake is that the cut and color prices here are EXTREMELY REASONABLE!!! I’ve paid an obscene amount of money years ago at pricey salons in Sterling which eventually lead me to box color with good results for over four years. Bunny predicted that I would get addicted to seeing her for a cut and highlights, and she’s right! Also, the salon’s atmosphere is inviting, comfortable, and fun without a hint of snottiness. I feel so fortunate to have discovered this salon a year ago! Bunny is hilarious to boot!

I am a 60 yr old male and workout and run daily. My wife has been coming to Rusty’s salon for quite some time and one of the services she gets is a massage from Joy. Since Joy had been a nurse for over 20 years before becoming a massage therapist, we had her come in and speak to our employees about their health, especially as it related to sitting in front of a computer all day. I was so impressed that I decided to go in myself for a massage.
If you need a therapeutic massage, you won’t find a better person than Joy to give you one. Not only did she work on my knots and sore muscles, she explained the benefit of what she was doing for each area she worked on. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will go back again on a regular basis to keep things in shape.
If you need someone to come in and talk about how to properly work at their job, give her call… she even gives shoulder massages while she’s there.

LOVE Christine! I went from a brown-​blonde balyage ombré to a beautiful deep red. I was nervous at first, but couldn’t be happier with the results! Definitely going to be a regular!

Went in needing a color correction asap due to a mishap with another salon! Everyone here was so awesome and helpful! Was referred to Ruthie, she is the best — seriously. Took time to get a feel for what we could do to fix my color and make it something I would want. She fit me in right away and bam, new great hair color — amazing! Love this place!

Loved this place! They were able to work me in last minute and the service was excellent!

So, everyone out there, I just got the most incredible massage. Yesterday I fell on the ice and was full of lumps, bumps and bruises. All gone ! Thank you, Joy

I LOVE this salon. Great ambiance and everyone there is kind. Very clean comfortable relaxing place.
I highly recommend Terrie, she always does my hair and she is AMAZING. If you have longish hair, make sure you ask for her! I regularly get compliments on the cut, and it always grows out perfectly.

I have been searching for a salon since I moved to NOVA in 2008. I am happy to say that I have finally found «the one.» Rusty’s Hair Salon and Day Spa is clean, modern, and all-​around amazing. I was offered water, wine or champagne almost immediately after sitting in my stylist’s chair. And it wasn’t cheap wine — it was very high quality and delicious!
I highly recommend Terrie — she is a very talented stylist and colorist. I gave her a rough idea of what I was thinking in terms of cut and color and she knocked it out of the park! I have received so many compliments on my hair — even from strangers!
I also have to give a shout out to the lady who shampooed my hair — it was the most amazing shampoo and head massage I have ever received. Between the wine, the shampoo, and the lovely conversation with Terrie, I left feeling relaxed and went ahead and booked my next appointment.
If you are looking for a new stylist and salon, you can’t go wrong with Terrie and Rusty’s!

Although my color was excellent, I had perhaps my worst haircut ever here in July. Once the stylist was finished I pointed out that the two sides were’t even. She nicely shortened the appropriate side but it was still noticeably longer.
By that time I was afraid to suggest cutting further as I didn’t like the shape of the shorter side anyway as it looked hacked off.
So, I decided to let it remain very uneven rather than risk having both sides cut in an unbecoming shape that was also too short.
I was terribly disappointed as it seems like a lovely salon with a welcoming staff.

A friend and I found the salon on Unilocal when we were in Virginia for a wedding. We were looking to get our hair done for the evening. When we called we said one of us wanted a shampoo and blow out and the other wanted a shampoo and to have out hair curled. Though everyone was very nice the two stylist both seemed to think they didn’t have time to do what we had actually asked for even though we had specified when we booked the appointment and no one told is that wouldn’t be possible. My friend got a blow out and was happy with her results. I wanted my hair curled and since I was told there wasn’t really time I was put under the dryer and then my hair was partially dried with a defuser. I left with my hair still wet. I have naturally wavy hair and could have done that myself back at the hotel. She also pulled my hair off to the side and it fell out before I got back to the hotel. Also while my friend was waiting for me she got her nails done. Just a polish change. Because all she got was a polish change they told her she was not allowed to use the dryer and had to leave the salon with wet nails. The staff was all very nice but I would not suggest making any last minuet appointments. I would hope that if things had been better scheduled we would have had better results.

This is hands down the best salon in Leesburg. From the staff to Rusty himself, everything is great. The salon is GORGEOUS!!! The quality of the color and cut is amazing! Just go!
