Just go the best haircut of my life. I have long thick Hawaiian hair. Jacob knew exactly what to do with it and did an amazing job. I’m actually looking forward to my next haircut.

I’ve been seeing Elizabeth for awhile now for cuts, color and brows, truly I couldn’t be happier with the service she provides. We fully discuss everything before she even begins, and she isn’t shy about telling me if she think something won’t work in the way I’m envisioning. Even for a simple brow wax Elizabeth takes the time to really look at the shape, the natural growth pattern, my face and all those things someone should think about before they ever even put wax on your face yet many people do not.
I’m also very impressed with her color matching skills. Several times in my life I’ve asked a stylist to match my natural color but they never seem to get it right, the color always ends up being darker or more ash-​like. Last night I gave Elizabeth this request and she delivered perfectly, I’ve compared the dyed pieces to natural and I can’t tell a difference! That girl is amazing!
As for the shop it’s always clean, everyone is friendly and helpful, and their prices are reasonable for the level of service.
The only thing I’d say is that you do need to plan your appointments out. It may be different with other stylist but I know with Elizabeth there is no calling and getting right in. One time she did manage to squeeze me in for a quick eyebrow wax but there was another time when she was completely booked for the next few days. This isn’t an issue for me (my fault for not planning ahead) so I wouldn’t rate them down because of it, but it could be important to some.

I have been going to Innovations (on and off) for almost 10 years. I say «on and off» because I have moved out of town, but still go every time I’m back visiting family. Amanda is absolutely the best. No one can cut hair like her. She listens and adjusts based on what you’re saying, unlike so many stylists who think they know best and try to talk you out of your own knowledge of your hair.
When I was younger, I’d come in and just say «do what you want», letting her cut/​style my hair in whatever way was fashionable that month (within the parameters of my hair length and texture). She is a wizard with hair at any length. She did my hair when it was down to my waist, she did the 11″ cut when I donated to locks of love, and she’s done a variety of cuts with bangs, texture, angles, layers, and so on. She also does fabulous hair-​styling: she did my hair for my prom and when I was a bridesmaid in my brother’s wedding. (I told you, it’s been 10 years.)
She’s wonderful, and the rest of the staff has always been friendly and professional. They seem to enjoy each others company, and compliment each other and their clients on hair cuts. The salon is clean, comfortable, and has fairly priced services. It’s a nice environment and great to know I can always count on it when I’m in Lee’s Summit.
Call them, ask for Amanda. You won’t be sorry.

I cannot get over how great my hair looks and feels! Everyone there was extremely friendly and my stylist Donna took her time-​explained all my options and got to work making me look and feel beautiful! I will not go anywhere else!

Staff was minimally professional, salon was dirty (hair all over the floor and in the hairdresser’s equipment drawers) and noisy. I asked for red highlights over my brown hair that had roots and gray showing through. Halfway through the foils, I asked how she was going to do the roots and she said she wasn’t doing the roots — that was extra (I had a groupon). What hairdresser would not address the fact that my roots and gray would show through with just highlights? I left with stains all around my face/​hairline. The cut was fine, but the color I had to go have fixed somewhere else. Would definitely not go back.

This merchant needs to update their website. Pricing for the 60 minute massage is $ 55 and up… granted it says «and up» but they dont even offer a $ 55 massage. They only have 1 massage therapist… and her prices are $ 62 for a massage. Well — if thats the case, then please update your website!
I had a groupon for $ 55 worth of services (so, i was thinking I could get a massage with the groupon… and the sole reason I got the groupon in the first place!) Well, I called and made the appt, and asked some questions and that was when I learned that the 60 min. massage was actually more than the pricing listed on their website :(Groupon was good about it though, and let me cancel the cert and I was able to get my money back.

I started seeing Nicolette at the recommendation of a friend who had gone to see her after reading many positive reviews on Citysearch. She gave me a fantastic haircut and style, probably one of the best I have had in awhile. She is super friendly, upbeat and a good conversationalist. I have thick hair and she does a great job of texturizing it so it’s manageable. She is also a superb colorist. The salon is usually busy and the front desk staff is friendly. Oh, and they have wine if you want it :) They use high quality products like Bumble & Bumble and Moroccan oil.
I am excited to get in to their massage therapist (who is currently booked out for a month). The décor in the salon needs a bit of an update in my opinion, but if you get a good haircut, who cares.
They have a nice loyalty program which helps you get free services in the future.

Elizabeth does a great job. She actually takes the time to discuss things with me and remembers what we did last time. She has been very helpful in preparing me for my wedding this week!
