Better than fast food for sure. Lots of toppings allow you to have a different burger any time. The fries were delicious.

The best burgers by far. The only problem is when you finish eating you need a nap.

Worst service I have ever had at a 5 Guys. None of the workers acted like they wanted to be there. My burger was under cooked. My fries were very undercooked and soggy. I’m really upset that I paid 12 bucks for a meal I could have gotten better if I had just gone to a McDonald’s.

I don’t really have a TON to say just because of the fact that a lot of other reviews have covered the jist of what I have to say, BUT I think people have really forgot to mention how awesome the staff is here. They are super polite and attentive, and I wished that my meal could make me feel as good as they did. The burger was OK — definitely not the best nor the worst. It’s hard to really appreciate it when you’re used to other places like In-N-Out. I will say though that the food is super filling, so you can get your money’s worth when you come here. It’s a nice place to visit for something quick and on the go.

This Five Guys is better than all others I have been to. It is in my hometown and the people working there are so friendly. They really make it fun to go there. The burgers are made any way you want using ingredients on their menu. I love this place and I love their fries.

Great burger joint, and I recommend to anyone that enjoys a great tasting all American burger. However, the fries are soggy and I can understand that some people like that and some don’t. But I don’t go there for the fries! :) Get some Five Guys in your mouth, you won’t regret it and your taste buds will thank you! ;)

Great burgers. Just one tip: the«regular» size is a double, the«little» size is a single, and the«regular» fries are large, and the«large» are like family size!

It’s a pretty decent burger made the way you order it. Peanuts for the wait is a nice touch. Fries suck. I don’t care if cajun spices are on them. They’re always limp and soggy. The digital soda machine is a thing of beauty. Every soda i can think of is in there at one convenient spot. Of course, if it is actually refilled regularly which it usually isn’t.

My mom wanted«A good cheeseburger.» I needed to go to Lee’s Summit for an evening event. So I took her along with me. What else is to say? I love Five Guy’s. I’m a fan. The service at this location is top notch. I appreciated the time they took with my mom, explaining the toppings and drinks.(They have a touch screen drink machine). The ordering process was easy, with a short wait. I think she finally understands the reasoning for always ordering fries at Five Guys. The burgers, affordable, perfect size. Excellent topping choices. The food is much better than McDonalds. As other reviewers have mentioned, it’s not really fast food. They have a sign that says, «A step above fast food.» This is true. It’d be cool to have a Five Guys in Independence, but I can deal with it. Atleast we’re getting a Culvers.

I love the staff here. They way they yell«double patties» or whatever you are ordering. Its such a simple process on how their whole business works. And plus the food is excellent and plus a bag full of fries cannot be beat.

Before I start my review, I just wanted to say a quick thing about some of the existing reviews. Vegetarians/people who don’t eat burgers… I’m not quite sure why you’d go to a place with the word«burger» in the name and then complain that there aren’t any veggie options. Just seems sorta silly to me! As a meat-eater, I consistently enjoy Five Guys. I’ve been to two locations in the metro area, Lee’s Summit and Lenexa and both have speedy and friendly service. Though they have many topping options, I prefer simplicity so I usually get the double cheeseburger, raw onions, jalapeños, ketchup, mayo and mustard. Paired with an order of cajun fries and a coke and I’m set for a scrumptious meal. The kitchen/grilling area is fully exposed, so you can see exactly what they are doing from start-to-finish, nothing is left up to mystery, unlike other food chains. The menu is simple and to the point, the perfect solution to a decisive person as myself. It’s pricier than your typically fast-food joint, but well worth it, trust me!

Good burger for the buck! Make sure to go light on the jalapeños! You will thank me in the morning. Also get the Cajun spice on the side so you can have plain and seasoned fries.

Sometimes I get an intense craving for something very specific. Tonight it was Five Guy’s steaming hot and delicious french fries! I sped down 291 highway to get to these fries. The restaurant was pretty full at 5:30PM, but surprisingly quiet. Two burgers, a regular fry, and two waters cost $ 11.07.(I brought someone with me. I’m not that big of a pig…) I think the cashier could sense how much I wanted those fries. As I was digging trough my purse for the seven cents, he offered to cover it for me. I consider Five Guys to be fast food. What impressed me the most was that a girl came around during our meal and asked if everything was going well. I gave her a thumbs up, but what I really wanted to say was«MOREFRIESPLEASE! MOREFRIES!» My craving has been satisfied.

I don’t consider Five Guys to be quite«fast food,» given that your stuff is grilled to order, not sitting premade in a chute getting soggy. I don’t consider it to be gourmet sit down, either. But because it’s a step above Burger King, I’m cognizant that you pay a touch more. Still, it’s a tad steep for burgers, even decent burgers. For me, it’s as good of a burger as I can make at home on the grill, and a lot less effort, prep, and cleanup. Probably the freshest ingredients for toppings I’ve had at a restaurant of its ilk(I know, I know, this is everybody’s cue to insert incessant raving about how In-N-Out Burger is so much better/fresher/more awesome, but guess what? We don’t have In-N-Out Burger, here). I like that there aren’t extra charges for the numerous toppings, as well. I’m a fry-loving girl, and the fries here aren’t really my thing, which is okay for my waistline, given that the«regular» sized fries still come in a gigantic bucket. In theory, they should be great… hand-cut on site, skin on, etc. Maybe it’s the peanut oil… maybe it’s something else… they’re more steak fries than what I’m used to with burgers. I know I don’t like their cajun seasoned fries at all(weird, because I usually do like cajun spices, and generally love all things spicy), but I will nibble a few of the plain fries when shared with a dining companion or(best of all) dunked in malt vinegar. I LOVE places that have malt vinegar to go with your fries. This place is always clean, you don’t wait long for the food, and it’s a step up from your basic fast food. Works for me.

Absolutely love this place! The ambiance is a little«cool» but it is very interesting. When you walk in the door, the staff cheerfully greets you at the counter. When the greeter sees you coming, they yell back to the cooks, «2 in the door…» so they can get the burgers going quickly. It’s fun listening to them banter back and forth(in a friendly way) working together as a team. The burgers are definitely the backyard grill type! They are thick, juicy and well done. The fries are home made, and wonderfully greasy(the best kind). One order of fries is enough to feed at least 3 people though. My mom and I ordered a burger and fries each — we easily could have shared one order.

Now this is getting closer to what I call a great burger. Even though this is a chain I am impressed. Fresh meat, great add-ons, juicy-juicy-juicy! I had the Bacon Cheeseburger and not only was it huge but it was mighty tasty. Fries were AWESOME! Fresh potatoes, great seasoning and crispy. I am a huge fan. I will be back!

Three stars do not do the burgers justice. These aren’t pretty TV commercial burgers, they look like they were just pulled off the grill at home by somebody who knows his way around a hamburger. I like that, they care less about the pretty than the tasty, and boy the burgers have been tasty. The«little» burgers are single deckers, while the regular are doubles. You can get the burgers(or hot dogs) straight, with bacon, with cheese, or with bacon and cheese. Or for you non carnivores there is a veggie burger and the olé grilled cheese. Once you choose your dog/burger you choose your toppings. There is standard fare such as ketchup, mustard and pickles. But for the more daring there are sliced jalapenos, A1, hot sauce, grilled onions and more. If you like burgers check it out, just don’t expect much from the sides. The home cut fries are pretty decent hot but don’t travel well, and both regular and Cajun versions have too much salt(and other seasoning) in my opinion. Would have liked to see some onion rings.
