Always different with rotating taps, good cheese steak, just about every current beer available. A beer geeks candy store.

This is a great beer place packed with tasty craft beer and equally good food. If it weren’t for Unilocal I might have driven past here thinking it was just a run of the mill beer store. But once you walk in you see Union is more than meets the eye. The wide variety of craft beer extends deep to the back of the building. They’ve got six packs, big bottles, and growlers to go. Or you can stay, crack open your purchase, and watch whatever game they have on. Need beer fresh from the tap? They’ve got a sweet selection of 10 or so crafts ready to pour. No need to drink on an empty stomach, pick out something good to eat and you’re all set. I had the sweet chili wings– they were huge, meaty and delicious. I saw another review accusing of the owner of impartial treatment of a customer. During my visit, the owners were very friendly and talkative. The crowd was very diverse and the owner seemed to recognize everyone that came in and had something nice to say to all. I also found the dine in customers friendly and easily struck up conversations with everyone around me. A very positive environment! My beer selections were: Satans Bake Sale Mint Choclate Chip Porter(8.4%). Tasted like the girl scout cookies and went down easy Pizza Boy Honey Crisp(13%). Smooth enough for your girlfriend to drink, strong enough to put you to bed early. Careful if you’re driving. 4.5 /5 I’d give it a 5, but might be a little generous after one visit. If my second visit is as enjoyable as the first, I’ll definitely update to a 5.

If you a looking for craft beer in Lebanon County this is your one stop shop. It’s at a convenient location just outside downtown with plenty of parking. The food is not to be overlooked(great fried rice and cheesesteaks!) but this is a beer house. They have 100’s of different bottled beers available in mix and match six packs, bombers you can not find elsewhere, and 12 of the best rotating taps in the entire county. The owners get to know their customers and take care of them like family. If my grandmother was looking for beer this is the place i’d send her. Ask for Mak!

Union beer house used to be my go to for beer. Great location, reasonable prices good funnily run place. However, tonight I witnessed a racial dispute between the owner and a regular customer. I watched as the owner did not ID3 customers, even accepting a mans tattoo as a form of ID and then demanded an ID from the only black man in line. When the man pointed out the unequal treatment and provided examples of his past patronage of the union beer house, the owner ignored him and waited in everyone else. Once his wife came out and told the owner that the man was a regular the owner and wife got into an argument. I’m tolerant of many things but ignorance and unequal treatment isn’t one of them. I’ll take my business elsewhere now.

The Union Beer House replaced a childhood memory of eating at Country Garden six pack. My feelings are based off of food quality and the anger over the missing nostalgia from my childhoood. We went crazy and ordered about half the menu. Here’s a quick review of the half of the menu we ordered. Breaded Mushrooms: Don’t bother, they’re beer battered and bland. Chicken Gizzards: I’ve never had gizzards. The actual meat was pretty tough, but that’s kind of how I expected them to taste. They were aweseomely seasoned and had great flavor, I just didn’t feel like fighting to eat these treats. Steamed Dumplings: These were actually really good but you have to eat them before they get cool, otherwise they’re only okay and they can soak up a little too much of the soy sauce. Pork Egg Rolls: These were tasty, obviously home made and made in house. My wife and I were huge fans. Beer and Old Bay peel and eat shrimp: As a Californian now, I’ve been wondering why this is all over the east coast and nowhere to be found in California. My god these were excellent. Great broth, great flavor and cooked to perfection. We destroyed these like a two year old in a lego pile. I could eat these all day and night. They also have a massive selection of beer and rotating taps that you can get a growler filled at. If you fill it 11 times in a year, the 12th fill is on them. That’s kind of cool.
