Stats Bar & Grill

Well well well. Coming from Chicago Illinois to Whatever Indiana our expectations were super low. So kinda hard to fail. But i must say the servers were very polite. And the food was decent. A little understaffed but it’s Whatever Indiana!!! So get over it. Hahaha! If I was driving by and staying at a shit hole hotel for $FREE99 again I would definitely come back. Maybe.

Well were do I start. We had not been into this building for years. At one time it was an old train depot. The interior is very small and very cramped. The tables are all old and run down. They have an outdoor party area with its own bar, sort of and what appears to be a pit for cooking
many safety hazards for me to even count.
The night was a fund raiser for a local charity under the name of a friend who had died. Not sure why this hole was picked but it was not the atmosphere. Granted it is a small town but the owner thinks VERY HIGHLY of himself. Everything started out fine and we had a very nice waitress. Then, the owner or manager must have showed up and we were treated to the greatest bait and switch I have seen in a bar for years.
First, the only two wait staff were forced to work behind the bar, even though it was busy. So no more waitress, you want a drink, go wait at the bar. Next, no more GLASSES ! Thats right, suddenly I was at a FRAT PARTY with cheap plastic cups. Not the big RED solo kind, but the small DIXIE kind. The drink prices did not change. I held on to my wives glass for her and I was getting bottled beer. Then the BEST, my friends ordered a round of shots and I kid you not they brought tiny souflee cups. I am talking THIMBLE SIZE plastic cups and charged them $ 5.00 for a tablespoon of liquor. We had had enough so I asked for my tab and was handed a generic cash register tape with the same charges over and over. No way to tell what was what !! I paid and we left.
I do not recomend you give this place a try. There are plenty of bars to visit just down the road. I only gave it one star because our waitress tried but had no control. Not to mention from what I could see the food was even lower quality. scary !
