I stopped in yesterday after having driven past this store for months. Staff took a bit to notice me, but the employee I dealt with was polite and helpful. Their apples are gorgeous, huge and fragrant. I bought six, three varieties so I’d have an idea how different the flavors could be. Several of their preserves looked nice, but without samples, I wasn’t willing to risk 7 or 8 bucks for a jar. I did buy some cider after being offered a sample. Sweet and smooth flavor. The prices will definitely keep me from becoming a regular, but any time I need beautiful apples, I’ll think of Hidden Valley first.

Could not believe how rude the staff was. Ended up leaving without purchasing anything and going elsewhere. Do NOT waste your time, definitely not worth it.

I had the worst experience here today with my family. We went to pick apples and were rudely told by the worker that no one under 5 could pick apples despite nothing stating this fact on their website and having picked there last year. The employee treated me like I was trash and rolled her eyes at me. They also did not honor our cincy savers since we did not have it printed out(nothing stated on the deal that it had to be printed out and every other place accepted it from our phone). I asked to speak with the owner about it and they were very rude. When I questioned them about it they walked away from me while speaking to me and stated«we don’t have time to deal with you or this issue». Needless to say we will never return. We went to irons fruit farm instead and had a great time. They were very affordable, had great customer service and actually gave free hay rides and rides for the kids. Hidden valley lost our business today due to poor customer service but we found a better place in irons fruit farm. Don’t waste your time at hidden valley!

Overpriced, rude staff, especially the owner, and a poor value. They don’t accept Cincysavers(Groupon-like) on your phone, only printed copies. ALL of the apples were spotted, though decent taste. $ 25 a ½ bushel vs. $ 15 a ½ bushel at competitor’s orchards. The staff screamed at my 3, 4, and 5 y/o for giggling in the store and said they’d eject them from the orchard for misbehaving. Also, unbeknownst to us, kids must be 5+ to enter the orchard. Ummmm, we’ve picked at a few locations and never heard such nonsense. Apple picking is a family affair everywhere but here. I only say this because it’s located in Warren County, the owners are staunch Democrats and Obama supporters. They have old campaign signs strewn about the orchard. Not that I care, but I know Warren is the most Republican county in the nation.

First time visiting here. My family of 4 picked apples, did a hayride, and got a couple of pumpkins(w/hayride). We had a great time, but I cannot say it was a value. The total cost was shy of $ 100. The real let down was the hayride and pumpkins — it’s just not worth the nearly $ 40 to not even walk in a pumpkin patch. The pumpkins were set up in a row on the side of the dirt road. They were small to make it worse. The apple picking was a reasonable value at $ 15 and the store was nice. I’d come back, but not for pumpkins.

I was drawn here by a Cincy Savers deal $ 20 for $ 40 worth of stuff. Had been looking for a good local cider place so tried it out. Went on a weekday to avoid the crowds. PROS: BEST Blueberry pie i’ve ever had from filling to crust! AMAZING homemade grape juice, again best i’ve had! GREAT Cider and produce(I purchased some gorgeous acorn squash). Friendly, helpful, and welcoming staff. Had a cider donut too which was yummy. CONS: Super disappointed in how expensive everything was! They had a really nice selection of apple, pumpkin butters jellies and jams but when I saw the price tag I sadly put them back. Everything I did buy was pricey actually. Couldnt believe how quick the $ 40 went. I’d love to keep coming back here even without the coupon because everything I bought was great, but not really affordable except as a once in a while treat.

Are the base prices at Hidden Valley Fruit Farm expensive? Yes. Do they charge for every experience? Yes. Do you have to do everything on the farm? NO! We explained to our children that we were there to go fruit picking, and to look at the farm. That is it. They knew they were not going to play in any of the play areas, and you know what? They had a wonderful time apple and grape picking. We did the U-Pick apples($ 25 for a ½ bushel,) and U-Pick grapes($ 20 for 1 peck.) Our ½ bushel of apples came to about 20lbs! The peck of grapes was about 10lbs! We made a game of finding the plumpest and juiciest fruit. Both children loved the experience, and neither complained about not getting to do the other things. On the drive home, they both talked about going back next year. The produce was in good shape. A few apples did have spots or holes. Not enough of the apples were damaged for it to be an issue. The farm stand/general store was cute and kitschy. Pre-picked produce in there was more expensive that the grocery store. It is much fresher. They also had some beautiful baked goods. We found a deal on Cincysavers that made the whole trip much more affordable. Our children got the experience, and we had a lovely time as a family.

I like bringing my two year old son out here to see the animals, but I’ll never bring him back here for an «event» like an Easter egg hunt. Poorly planned, poorly executed, they were completely unprepared for the crowd they got and it ended in tears for a lot of kids, who didn’t find a single egg.

Very disappointed! The website said that they had apple and pumpkin picking but when we got there they said Apple picking was over and pumpkin picking doesn’t start for another few weeks. Ok understandable but something on the website would have been helpful. So we decided to go thru the corn maze. $ 8.00 per person later we followed the one sign to where the supposed start of the corn maze was. No one outside of the maze to collect tickets or to direct us so we just walked in. Less than 2 mins later we were out of the maze at the exit. No turns or signs in the maze to make it more exciting. Not worth the $ 8.00 we paid. We talked to someone inside and got half of our money back. Will never go back.

I enjoyed a day with my daughter here while the older kids were in school. We paid to pick apples and she had a great time. It does cost a bit more, but I figured the experience was worth it. We stopped at the covered bridge on the property and got some great photos. The apples aren’t huge, but we brought them home and made homemade applesauce. We had so much fun that we went back and did grapes when we were finished. It was the first time for both of us so the cashier taught us to do it without damaging the vines. Again, An Awesome experience for my 5 year old. I will go back

Overprice!!! Everything was way OVERPRICE. $ 2 per person to see chickens and smelly pigs in a filthy pen. Hay ride $ 7.50 per, maze $ 8.00, caramel apples $ 4.50. Could be something nice if they were not so pricy.

Great apples, corn maze, hay rides, live music, cider, pumpkins, cheese, etc. This place has a lot of character and charm. We usually go here in the fall to get apples.

Disappointing and overpriced. Went here with my family. They were having their fall festival days. Advertising hay rides, pumpkins, apple picking, bounce house for the kids, face painting and more. I was surprised to see charges for EVERYTHING. $ 2 for a few min. In the bounce house, $ 4 for a few min. On the hay ride, etc. These should have been free attractions! And for the prices they were charging for everything else, they could afford to give these away. A smallish Carmel apple was selling for $ 3.75, a bag of about 15 apples was $ 27.99 and a decorative«shock» of Indian corn consisting of three ears was a staggering $ 4! We tried to pick apples, $ 15 a peck(small bag) and were directed to the orchard where we were only allowed to pick from two rows. The«guard» who made sure we did not wander away from the allowable rows did not even know what variety the trees there were. We tried to find some apples to pick that were adequate to eat and sadly there were scarce few. Oh, there were apples in the trees, they were just puny little apples full of holes and spots. Not an apple you want to pick off the tree and sink your teeth into, these were more like cider apples, very unattractive. Sadly we left empty handed. I will say that the attendant did give me back my $ 30 when I came back from the«orchard» with my two empty peck bags. Despite the«no refunds» signs everywhere. I think she did not want me to make a fuss in front if the other 20 – 30 saps in line ready to pay their money for the rip off offerings there. Negative experience for the drive we made down there.

the autumns of my childhood were filled with big piles of leaves to jump in, brisk soccer games on Saturday mornings and weekend trips to the pumpkin patch. This is the pumpkin farm of my childhood. Literally. I went back to Hidden Valley after an 18 year absence. Hadn’t seen the barn in years, but its image was seered into my brain, and it looks exactly the same as I envisioned it. Full of a mélange of antiques, jams and chotchkes, you can meander through the barn to pick up a variety of apples, Heirloom tomatoes and other farm grown goodness. We sampled a cup of cider — refreshing and all natural, complete with zero preservatives. Whether you want to knaw your way through a caramel apple, or prefer an unusually flavored piece of licorice(piña colada and root beer among the interesting offerings), chances are you can find something here to trip your trigger. If you do decide to take a trip to Hidden Valley, I suggest you get there by some country backroad. The rolling hills are dotted with quaint homes and farmland, and sometimes it’s peaceful to forget about the hustle and bustle of life in the city.
