El Campesino

The chips and salsa were ²⁄₅. Flavor good, mild heat. Salsa was the runniest I have ever seen. Very hard to eat. Lettuce took on the taste of refrigerator. Uck. Waiter kinda rude. I don’t think he likes people. Refried beans were diluted with… oil? Meh… The place is fast, cheap, unpersonable, food=so so. For the price ok. Will I be back. No thanks. Good luck!

This is standard cheap Mexican, don’t expect anything special. A few dishes are surprisingly bad but most are edible.
What can be said is that service us EXTREMELY fast, it’ll blow your socks off, but then again any dish you will order is meat on a tortilla or chips with a squirt of beans, guacamole, or some iceberg lettuce, so everything is essentially premade, but slopped together once you order it.
Good dishes are the fajitas which cone out hot and sizzling, or the spicy nachos.

I had a really bad experience. Well, probably the worse with a rude waiter. Our food took 45 minutes, and just to watch the waiter be extra, extra nice to everyone else. I asked how much longer for the fajita nachos we ordered would be, and he shrugged his shoulders and said he did not know. I asked him to ask please, and he stated he did not know!!! Acted like an ass! No sauce for nachos and he did not refill our water. At the point of walking out, our food appeared. He never came back.
We ate and went to pay, and had no ticket. The cashier went to get it, and the rude waiter appeared to ring us out. I walked outside. My fiancé got the change, and left it on the table. The rude waiter came outside, yelled for my fiancé to get his change. My fiancé said to keep it for his tip for being an ass, and the rude ass waiter threw it on the sidewalk. Wow, what a business. I was a business owner for years, and you should never, never act like this to anyone! I will never be back, and I know a lot of people. I will tell them of this crappy experience. I ordered a lot of take out from work, and I will never order again, ever!!!

I have to admit, I really enjoyed this place. I tried the carnitas, delicious. The nacho’s with beef fajita meat (don’t remember the exact name), delicious. Just a basic plate with a taco, enchilada, burrito, rice & beans, guess what… delicious. I find it hard to believe that in Hampton Roads Virginia it is almost impossible to find good Mexican food, yet here in little ol Lebanon you can get some damn good Mexican grub. Honestly, I don’t think you can go wrong with anything you order.
