This place is always spot on. The lighting and wood finishes make for a romantic yet welcoming atmosphere. This time, I tried the Winter’s Bloom cocktail. Complete with an edible hibiscus flower. From Sunday brunch to cocktails with girlfriends to romantic dinner for two, Pig and Finch has it all! Great food on a fresh, rotating menu; great cocktails and friendly service!

Came to Pig and Finch for a laid back celebration with friends and it was perfect setting for the occasion. Yes, the area it’s in has that uppity/ultra-suburban feel but I enjoyed the classy interior. I had their Pig Martini which is basically a vodka martini made with their house made bacon-infused vodka. Unfortunately, this drink sounds better than it tastes; I couldn’t discern much pigginess at all and being a bacon lover that was a bit disappointing. Fortunately, they have a small(about 5 – 6?) but solid draft beer list and I was able to try a saison from Crane brewing(on HH price, too!) Oh, and if you’re going for HH, get the fried pickles. Those wonderfully crunchy, briney bits come in a heaping mound and after tasting mine my friends loved them so much they ended up ordering their own so none of us had to share. I’ll be back to Pig & Finch for sure!

This was a wonderful dining experience. My hubs had the oysters appetizer which he enjoyed. For our meals I had the bistro filet fromage although I subbed garlic butter for the maytag cheese butter. Hubs had the duck casselout which he proclaimed«the best thing I’ll eat all year». Desert was the sugared don’t holes, warm with a lemon duping sauce and sweet cream. Hubs had the butterscotch pot de crème. It was good. Wonderful service and an extra star for the 70’s sound track. Definitely worth a second visit

Fantastic place and comfortable ambiance in the Leawood area. Definitely a notch above the other restaurants in Park Place. My made-to-order burger was perfect and the fries and other side items were excellent. We also had the kale and squash salad and loved every bite. As far as food and menu selection go(which is pretty much all I care about), this is definitely one of the best restaurants in the area. My only qualm is, after excitedly ordering the beer that I wanted, the waitress came back to tell me they didn’t have it — and I really hate that. Anticipating the taste of a certain something, thinking its right on its way, any second now… and then–«Sorry pick something else» makes me cry on the inside a little.

This review is for restaurant week 2016. I came here around 11:35am on a Saturday and there were a handful of people here. The parking garage next to this restaurant had plenty of spaces. There was a section of the side of the restaurant that had a bar. I was seated near the entrance but not exactly in the large dining area. Their lunch menu was the same as their dinner menu on their website. I decided to order from the restaurant week menu. I asked my waitress which she would recommend between the San Marzano Tomato Soup or the Loaded Baked Potato Soup and she said the Loaded Baked Potato Soup. I ordered that, the Short Rib Mac & Cheese, and the Dark Chocolate Bread Pudding. I waited a few minutes before my food came. The Loaded Baked Potato Soup was delicious and everything complemented each other. I was looking forward to the Short Rib Mac & Cheese. However, I thought it was just okay because there was not a whole lot of short rib inside. The few pieces that were in there was not bad. Finally, the Dark Chocolate Bread Pudding was good and had the right amount of whipped cream to not make it very dry. I thought Pig & Finch was good and I’ll have to come back in the future to try their normal menu.

The Pig and Finch offers a solid menu in an upscale location that fits right in with the shops at Park Place. With its dim lighting, and candle lit tables it offers a low key atmosphere, good for a date. They have an ample bar with 260 seating, and several booths. The main dining room has a couple of long tables for large groups, several booths and tables, and a private area for activities. The kitchen is open in the back so you can see pretty much everything. Also, several pig and ping inspired art is scattered through the restaurant. On our first visit I tried their Pig and Finch burger and I was hooked, its one of the best burgers I’ve had. The ingredients really compliment each other and make for a great tasting burger, and my wife loves their French Onion soup. I’m also a fan of the pickles and veggies that come with the sandwiches, a little sweeter than regular pickles, but oh so good. Their chicken sandwich is very large, but the chicken was bit dry. Their grilled cheese was also good but the beef ragout in the grilled cheese coupled with the side of tomato soup was a bit much. Their fries are also not my favorite, a bit soggy and over cooked for my taste. Service is OK, while I’m not looking to be best friends with the staff, cracking a smile won’t kill anyone. They seem to be all about business. Service has always been prompt so I won’t hang up on this, but it could be friendlier.

OMG This place is amazing. This is not lunch or dinner — this is an experience! I had a business meeting and was asked to pick the place. I don’t typically get out for lunch so I grabbed my phone and looked to my fellow Unilocalers to help me choose. I wanted to try a new place and saw Pig & Finch. My colleague asked if I would eat Bone Marrow if he ordered. I’ve had the best Bone Marrow ever in San Francisco a few years ago… You know — one of those things that you say«this can’t get any better so why try?» Well thank you Pig & Finch because you rocked this one. It was perfection. I liked the way they served with the toasted bruschetta, roasted lemon wedges and capers. There was actually so much there that 2 of us couldn’t eat it all — it is rather rich. The Warm Butternut Squash Kale salad is awesome. It is plentiful and love the bitesize perfectly cooked butternut squash. Something so healthy shouldn’t taste so sinful!

First time yesterday dining here for restaurant week and my food was a solid 3.5. The kale salad was good & the salmon succotash was also very good. Salmon was cooked perfect. The chocolate bread pudding was pretty disappointing. My dining companion had the Mac & Cheese and she sent it back because it was way too salty and got the salmon instead. The servers were very nice and did a great job. I had a baby with me that needed changed at the end of the meal and there was no baby changing table in the bathroom. My husband has been here once without me and he wasn’t a fan of the food so not sure I would be back.

Went to Pig & Finch in Leawood for Restaurant week lunch. The potato soup was good but had frozen shredded potatoes in it. Not baked potatoes as stated. The short rib Mac n cheese had a surprising lack of short rib. I think I found a tiny shred in my portion. Not enough to call it short rib Mac n cheese for sure. The dark chocolate bread pudding was not bread pudding but more of a slightly soggie brownie with a hard crust. Not at all bread pudding. Overall impression — not impressed. I hear they have a good dinner menu. Maybe so but this was bad enough I may not want to go back for another try. Disappointing.

I really debated between giving this place 3 or 4 stars. I really wish half stars were an option, because I think this place would likely rank as a 3.5 star with me. I came with a group of coworkers, so there was a group of about six of us. I loved the atmosphere and feel of the restaurant. The décor is really nice, and this is a great lunch spot. Our service was pretty good(although, one of my coworkers sat without her meal for about 5 – 7 minutes after the rest of us were served, but the waiter was adorable with how he handled it). The food I would rate as a 3. We had the braised short rib mac and cheese and many of us felt it was overly salty. The potato and tomato soups were well liked by everyone. For desserts we were a table split between a chocolate bread pudding which did not go over well and lemon bars which we just ranked as ok. I would definitely be willing to give this place another shot for lunch, but it’s pretty far from home and I’m not sure that I would make a special trip over there for dinner, based on the food.

The service at the bar was very good and the atmosphere pleasant, but I expected more from the food. A bit uninspired.

Loved my visit here. I was in KC for a work trip and got to eat dinner at the bar. The bartender was such a dear, the atmosphere was amazing, and I chatted with the most darling couple at the bar as well. The pork shoulder was amazing, and it was so good paired with a spicy malbec! I really enjoyed the experience(even dining solo), the area was very nice with cute surrounding shops and a parking garage not too far away. I would love to return my next time in KC.

Oh Pig and Finch I dream about your kale salad! We stopped in here for an early dinner with our 2 kiddos and although the place isn’t a kid place they made us feel warm and welcome. The food was incredible and truly something I dream about Kale and BUtternut Salad Lamb Burger Burger Whiskey Flight AMAZING

Met friends for happy hour and were disappointed the HH price for a glass of cab was $ 9, so we went with the grapefruit rose at $ 5 which was good, but we were in the mood for a cab on a cold winter night. We ordered the hummus to start and it was the worst hummus we’d ever had. The atmosphere is nice and service was good, but for better wine and apps we left for another Park Place venue.

Nothing but good things to say about this place. I have eaten there twice, maybe 3 times. Duck cassoulet was exquisite. Salmon. The trout. All masterpieces. I went there for my birthday and they gave me a chocolate and mousse raspberry dish with mint leaf and candle. The setting is very intimate, yet welcoming. Excellent place. Excellent food. Don’t really like the bone marrow pork chops though. Cooked too long. But it was immediately corrected with a different dish. Overall great experience, and worth the money.

Stopped over while in Leawood on business. Had probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten in my existence… the Cuban. It was phenomenal here. Maybe I was just starving. Maybe it was perfect timing. But I’m still thinking about this sandwich after a couple weeks! Service was quick and efficient. Sat outside during a gorgeous fall day. Everything on point for that visit for sure! Parking in that area stinks but I am not holding it against Pig & Finch!

Really yummy and fresh foods, along with great wait staff. I have had the salmon salad and the pork shoulder, both of which came out impressively moist, tender, and full of flavors. Wait staff will take the time to talk you through the menu. On several occasions, I’ve done bar seating for drinks only. If there isn’t a drink that you see on the menu, tell the bar tender, because they’ll whip up something that’s similar in taste.

About ¾ of the way through our meal, my fiancé found a chicken bone as he bit into his BLT. Yes, a BLT. Wrong animal… why on earth was a chicken bone inside his sandwich? I had a burger. Yet again, wrong animal. What made this experience even worse, is when the manager came out, she told us that the sandwich prep area is all in one area… therefore, while they were making his BLT, evidently, some scrapplings of a chicken got pushed aside and part of the bone ended up on his sandwich. We’re talking about a 1 inch length bone, not just something he «mistakenly» could overlook. Sick. The service was stellar but this just knocked it down to a 1. Our meal was comped but nothing else was offered. I’m sure if a Leawood housewife came in and it happened to her, she would have raised hell. No offer of giftcards or anything of the sort — not that we’d be back.

Amazing gastropub with young and fresh vibe, located on a charming plaza with lots of shopping options and a beautiful fountain! My boss was concerned I would not have as many great food options while staying at Overland Park, but boy he was wrong! The culinary scene is shifting and more exciting places are popping up! Pig & Finch is definitely one them. Located on a delightful plaza, this gastropub advances its culinary creations & expanding our tastebuds’ horizons. The pub is full of new exciting liquors; eager to please bartenders would mix an exotic drink you would never regret tasting. I’ve chosen a more relaxing path, amusing myself with a nice glass of chilly Chardonnay and a delightful potato gnocchi dish topped with wild mushrooms, green peas, and freshly shaved cheese. The meal tasted great: gnocchi were fresh, peas were grilled, nice creamy mushrooms were a perfect addition to the white sauce surrounded the gnocchi. There were only 3 things I’d like to be improved: I’d like to see an even sear on my gnocchi, I’d like to have a bit more mushrooms, and this meal could easily benefit from being a bit lighter letting the gentle taste of peas to shine brighter. However, this place has a variety of great dishes which if like to explore. Overall, good experience and worth checking out.

So I’ve been wanting to try Pig & Finch for a while now. I’ve gotta say we loved it! We were quickly seated in the bar which was very cozy with rich dark wood, and promptly offered a drink. From start to finish our service was wonderful; a few times my husband caught the waiter looking at our table from afar to see if there was anything we needed. My husband ordered a drink that he really did NOT like(he isn’t the type to complain if he doesn’t like a meal/drink), but the waiter noticed he was not drinking it and asked why. long story short he brought my husband out a new one and didn’t charge us for the 1st one. It’s little things like that which keep us coming back! I loved everything about our dinner, from the music in the restaurant to the service, to the drinks and food! We will definitely be back!
