This is a whole foods restaurant look alike. They have a sandwich bar and a salad bar and a chocolate bar and others to choose from. I had a broccoli pasta — excellent! Green beans almondine — excellent. Maple glazed carrot balls — also excellent. Then I got triple chocolate sea salt Sarajevo balls. This is a great place for different kinds of meals.

Kansas City needs more places like this. Recently having moved from Southern California this place has kept me from missing my old coffee/bakery stops. I recommend the coffee and crossaint

Amazing build your own salads. Great price too. $ 10.95 for a vegetarian BIG medium size salad. Artichoke hearts, edamame, capers, feta cheese and more. Delicious dressing. Pretzel baguette goes perfect on the side.

Have been a fan of D&D for as long as they have been serving up swaggy wares in Leawood. This really is the poshest grocery store in the metro with hard to find items and specialties. The real treat inside, however, is the salad and sandwich counter. Custom order your favorite salad or sandwich and watch the magic happen right in front of you. The wizards behind the counter whip up a meal that is sure to please. Prices are reasonable($ 8 — $ 12). Other items in the store are priced a little higher but you are paying for opulence.

Feels like the upper east side just landed in suburbia. Very high end groceries, expensive to say the least. Hard for me to find stuff to buy here given the prices. They do have some pretty items that could work as gifts. Not too much store traffic, i think the merchandising could use some upgrading to more modern brands. The place could be made to feel more accessible and less exclusive. But maybe thats what most people want when they come here.

Pretty overpriced in my opinion, but such a beautiful store. Went in to pick up some coffee and treats for a gift and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Wish I could afford to shop here more often, but a lot of the grocery items I can buy at Whole Foods or Target for quite a bit less.

I was shocked that Dean & Deluca had a 4 star average, and after reading the reviews it seems like the poor reviews were written by people who both cannot afford quality, and do not appreciate quality. If you come here expecting Manchego cheese for the price of velveeta, or fresh anchovies for the price of canned, or a GOURMET salad for the price of a Wendy’s salad, or a gourmet sandwich for the price of Subway, you will be disappointed. The food is incredible here and is priced appropriately.

If you brave the parking lot(definitely at the holidays) you will be richly rewarded with the treasures you’ll find at Dean & Deluca. Whenever I throw a party I always buy fancy schmancy cheese at D&D to serve my guests. The staff makes excellent recommendations and gives samples so don’t be intimidated by the cheese counter. I love the sandwich counter, and the dessert counter. If I don’t have time to run downtown to Christopher Elbow I can pick up a package here. I will definitely go back!

Plain and simple — EVERY decent size metropolitan area needs a Dean & Deluca. The cheese selection was top notch, the staff was beyond knowledgeable and the selection of coffees, breads, candy, etc was just amazing!

Yup, im addicted. Is it a bit overpriced? Yea, it sort of is. but I can’t stop going here. Their soups are great(my personal favorite is the Roasted Red Pepper Bisque), sandwich/salads have always been tasty, and really open to being customized, their sushi is fresh and tasty, though I feel like the rolls aren’t rolled very tight, they tend to fall apart a little. Don’t even get me started on the cheese variety. Its the mecca of cheese. Great gifts and snacks, and the employees have always been kind, and helpful.

Pretty fantastic sandwiches and salads. Also really great for some specialty items that can’t be found elsewhere. Think super high end olive oils and really stand out cheese. However since this one is in KS it can’t carry wine which is a big downer versus other Dean and Delucas,.

I absolutely love everything in this Dean & Deluca store! I work at Ericsson & we often order lunch from here by either visiting the store or calling 24 hours ahead for delivery. They never disappoint & the food is always FRESH! The only time they got our order wrong, it was very minor and try sent us gift cards to DOUBLE cover the cost of our order! Now that’s customer service!

It’s hard not to love this high-end $hop, despite the price tag of literally every single thing there. I’ve been out in this area a couple times lately and been here specifically for their magical salad bar. They have staff there to mix up your salad, and both times I’ve thought, «Hmm, that „medium“ size looks perfect» only to have salad for dayz. The medium here ends up being an insanely large brick of salad, so if you’re not coming off of a fast, go with the small. By the time you add chicken and whatnot to the medium it’s also nearly $ 15 which is pretty high for a salad. Gotta admit, I love all their candy they have around too. They’ve got gummy everything — gummy peaches, gummy frogs, gummy sharks, gummy LOBSTERS. It’s like a child’s paradise. Or mine. They also have high end coffees, olive oils, and anything you’d expect to find in an artisanal market place. Pretty much everything there is worth trying if it’s calling your name. Last but not least, they have a coffee bar in here. I tried their mango iced tea on a 100 degree day and it really hit the spot. Highly recommend choosing from one of their many awesome iced tea varieties if that’s your thing.

My son and I stopped here for a quick after camp snack and we were NOT disappointed. He had half an egg salad sandwich with jalapeños and I had the sashimi grade ahi tuna. We also picked up some Cinnabon inspired bread that was amazing! This is a great spot for a quick bite, espresso or specialized cooking supply. Yum!

Very unique specialty grocery store. You’ll find a lot of interesting items you wouldn’t expect to find other places. This trip, I tried the Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog and the Midnight Moon cheeses. Both are goat cheeses, the former creamy and luxurious and the latter smokey and sultry. An essential stop for any turophile. Next, the deli counter won’t disappoint. They have everything from goat cheese and dill dip [$ 8 or $ 9/LB] to seared Ahi and Prime Rib [$ 35-$ 60/LB]. Don’t miss the gourmet desserts counter. The root beer macaroons and 3 Women and an Oven German chocolate cake are divine. Also, the coffee bar is amazing as well. They have a lavender syrup, which sounds odd, but is delectable mixed with Mocha or Vanilla syrup in an iced or hot drink. This store will expand your culinary panache.

Dean & Deluca is a gourmet playground. Granted, it isn’t cheap, but the best things in life aren’t given away! This location was the first one I ever went to many moons ago. I have also visited the St. Helena, CA location several times as well as the one in NYC. Dean & Deluca has it all — hard to find gourmet ingredients, wonderful chocolates and sweet treats, prepared foods, my favorite ito en Jasmine Green tea, sushi, made-to-order gourmet sandwiches and salads, Jeni’s splendid ice cream at ridiculously high prices… I have shopped D&D online because the store also carries Kyotofu Japanese sweets(from NYC), yuzu items, and other cool things solely online. Eric R. and I had custom sandwiches made here prior to flying out of MCI and the wonderful meal was perfect to unwrap on a long flight.

I’m only posting this review for one item at the Dean & Deluca in Leawood, and that’s the Spicy Lobster Dip. This stuff will change your life. My mother-in-law brought it home to share one time I was visiting, and it’s been a primary reason to visit the in laws ever since! :) I usually dip crackers or bread into the dip, or use it as a spread with a turkey sandwich or something. The possibilities are endless; get creative. The price is something ridiculous, but it’s so worth it. Treat yourself and never look back.

Treat yo’ self. Literally the most bougie-a$$ place. EVER. While places like Whole Foods are upscale and crunchy, D&D flirts between the lines of lavish and total excess. But! You’re a hardworking individual who enjoys the finer things in life, so hey, treat yo’ self! D&D has a smattering of deli foods,(delish) packaged salads, sandwiches, etc. They also have bomb make-to-order sandwich and salad lines. My guilty pleasure here is the $ 47/pound Chilean Sea Bass. $ 47 a pound you say?! Just shut up and try it, and then we can talk. The cookies at the coffee bar are also outrageously expensive but stupid good. D&D, ftw(but for your bank account’s loss). Maybe it should be less of a «treat yo’ self» place and more of a «please come treat me here, mom» place.

This is good place to waste time. They love when people like me ask for samples. Im their favorite kind of people. They have the Glacé ice cream in case you cant make it across the street. Fancy cakes and pies, fancy sandwiches and deli stuffs, and coffees. I got a salted caramel christopher elbow something or another and it was super good. Ill buy my exotic foods elsewhere… but Ill stare at them whilst sipping fancy coffee here. oh and once i got a sandwich(catered to work by a rep) and it was like ham, apple and brie(rich people and their brie *so cute*) and it was an alright sandwich. the brownie was nothing special.
