I have been going to this particular store since it opened. There are many reasons I gave this store two stars, but the primary reason is their veteran’s discount policy. NOONEKNOWSIT! I’m sure you may have read that it’s 10% any time, but that’s not true, because it ONLY applies to CERTAIN items, and not one person in the whole store can tell you what those items are! If I can find an item at the local Ace or Gronis, I will go there and pay a little extra out of principle. I don’t like policies that are only known to the suits at corporate. Sure wish Lowe’s had moved here instead.

About the only location in Leavenworth to get home repair supplies other than some at Walmart. There’s an ACE Hardware and further down the road a lumberyard. I’ve so far patronized neither store. Home Depot is just too large and too convenient not to shop here. Besides it seems as if it’s always open. While I prefer Lowe’s, this is my local Home Depot and it seems if I’m not home or traveling then I’m here looking for something. Better service than Home Depot gained a reputation for as there’s usually someone around to answer my questions and help me select my purchase. The flooring center is pretty good but a lot of the staff float between departments so they are not expert on their stock. I prefer to use the phone app which if you type in the store will lead you to the aisle where the merchandise is located. Pretty handy!

Clean. When you can find staff they are very helpful. Lots of parking. Great location. Only downside is the garden area… it was a huge challenge to find help from someone who knew plants(the cashiers of the area do not). They paged for help and rarely was the service worth the wait. All other areas of the store were fantastic.

Home Depot reminds me of the post office and DMV, you have to go there because there is no other option. Creates a problem with no competition the costumer service becomes lazy. Leavenworth store has about 2 solid workers, one in kitchen design the other all over the place. More than once I have had to go to the front desk asking for some help when the workers are in there own world. «ain’t nobody got time for that!»

Imagine driving around the dirt roads of Kansas and you happen upon the County of Leavenworth, population 77,000. Eventually the dirt roads turn into paved roads, which is nice, but you realize that you’re still pretty far from any metropolitan complex. You’d probably expect that folks, while friendly, might not have as much to offer as «big city» types. And you’d be correct. This Home Depot is a «70k Store,» designed to provide for most of the home improvement needs of a population center that numbers 70,000 people. Basic lumber, plumbing, storage, lawn care, etc. is all one should expect. I’ve even been caught at looking for something online at that says is available at the store on Main Street, but quickly found out the website doesn’t really look at the available stock. If you want a Home Depot«superstore» you’re going to have to travel further into Kansas City. But, seeing as how you’re a smart person, researching your options, you probably already knew that. The Home Depot at Leavenworth… nice folk who’ll do what they can to help. Just don’t expect to find that new whiz-bang home improvement gadget while you’re there.

staff knows nothing about their own store, and even their inventory is wrong(saying they have items that they dont have). not coming back if i can avoid it.
