The salsa had good flavor and spice. The cabbage/pico de gallo was good as well. I had a Cadillac margarita which I thought was quite good until I tried my wife’s Michelada, which was AMAZING. The enchiladas and tacos are average. The service was AWESOME! Everyone was genuinely friendly and attentive, without hoovering. And the prices are more than reasonable. I highly recommend if you are in the area, and not in the mood for sausage or spätzle.

Los Comperos is definitely a family run joint and they have a pretty good selection of food on their menu. A large dining area upstairs and perhaps just a little bit of updating needed but no matter. Prices run the gamut here but I would say it’s moderately priced. I ordered the mole enchiladas and they came out suspiciously fast. I mean there’s not much to make this dish as I would assume the rice and beans were already done along with the sauce. But at least some time to cook the chicken? We literally both got our dishes in what felt like under 10 minutes so I really hope they didn’t use the microwave to nuke our food. With that, I will say the food wasn’t that great at all. The portions were large so that was the bright side of things but I’ve definitely had better Mexican food elsewhere. I guess you can’t expect much though being in Leavenworth you probably should be eating something a little more Germanic.

Fiancé and I could not decide on what to eat for dinner, we had Unilocal searched but really couldn’t pin point what sounded good, we walked down a road and came across this place and we were delighted to end our search here! First chips and salsa on point! Love love the salsa and guacamole. Staff was very friendly, and extremely attentive. We will be coming back on our next roll through town!

What a hidden gem! I know everyone comes to Leavenworth for Front St and Bratwurst.. but if you don’t stop by here, you’re missing out. A bit off of the beaten trail and with salsa to set even the most tolerant of mouths afire, this place is top notch. Minus one star for service that left a bit of room for improvement, but really, I didn’t even care.

This was my first time actually visiting Leavenworth in the 20 years Ive lived here in Washington. So we got hungry from shopping all day and had to get something to eat. Now, I know leavanworth is a German style town but I am Hispanic and I was in the mood for some good Mexican food. I found los Comperos on here and decided to give a shot. I didn’t have high expectations knowing this was a Mexican restaurant in a German town. Needless to say my expectations were surpassed, you have to walk up some stairs to the actual restaurant but once you get up there you can smell the delicious food aroma of carne asada and Mexican food haha. Now, it was the first day of the Christmas tree lighting, so it was very busy around 3:30. My girlfriend and I were greeted by the very friendly hostess and she said there was a 10 min wait and she stayed true to her word. We were seated and our server was the hostess because it was very busy. The tables were clean and the atmosphere was almost like I was in my grandma’s house and loved the smell of it inside. I ordered the burrito with beans and rice with a side of guacamole. It was super good and had plenty of flavor, the beans were perfect and the rice was hot and super flavorful; needless to say everything tasted very, very authentic. Even my Pepsi I ordered tasted real good! The salsa they had was on point and not too spicy but there cabbage salsa was good as well that went perfect with our chips. Best Mexican restaurant I’ve been too thus far, very surprising coming from a restaurant in leavanworth. Definitely will stop by again when traveling to Leavenworth. Seriously, 5 stars.

It was good. Nothing too exciting. Not the best nor the worst. The food was a little on the salty side, but I’d rather have salty than bland. The prices are reasonable. The wait staff seemed attentive and polite. May or may not be back.

Delicious food! Great service and nice atmosphere! It’s a little out of the way… upstairs off of 8th St… but well worth the search and the climb.

Every time we go to Leavenworth we eat here. It is some of the best Mexican in the state. The Carne Asada is great and the salsa, oh so good!

We really like Los Camperos and usually make a point of eating there every time we are in Leavenworth. The food is good and the portions are large. I also really enjoy the cabbage salsa that they offer. The servers are all very nice and it seems to be family owned and mostly the same folks working there each time we come in. We dined there last weekend and my husband commented that the chicken fajitas were the best he’d ever had, they were cooked to perfection. All of my kids commented on how fresh the tortillas were. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

Leavenworth is really a double edged sword for me. It’s a quaint little Bavarian town full of charm. It’s also slowly become a tourist trap — overpriced everything, hard to get a seat at any of the quality restaurants and tons of tourists who treat the Bavarian atmosphere as a commodity rather than organically enjoy it. Los Camparos is also a double edged sword. One one side of things I really love the authentic food here. The steak tacos are absolutely to die for. Unfortunately it would take $ 30 worth of them to really fill me up. The portion sizes are not proportional at all to the size of the main entrees. Sure, they will load you up on beans and rice, but what I really want is more of that sweet sweet marinated steak topped with delicious salsa and cilantro. The atmosphere at the restaurant is a fine balance of casual and authentic with that little bit of Bavarian charm that shines through. The staff is friendly and service is usually prompt despite being one of the more hot spot destinations in Leavenworth. If I was rating Los Camparos on food alone they would be get 4 ½ stars. But ‘tab shock’ is a real thing and we’re always surprised how two people can rack up a rather pricey tab just for dinner so quickly.

Good Mexican restaurant if you’re looking for something you’d find in a typical hometown. We were seated promptly and offered mild salsa in addition to their regular since I had a younger child with me. It had a very strong tomato sauce taste that I didn’t care for but their house salsa hit the spot with a good kick of spice. The fresh salsa they also brought was refreshing and different– like pico de gallo with cabbage — it was really good! Dinner was brought out really quickly and when we finished my daughter was delighted to get sopapillas! Great little spot to dine. Would go here again if Mexican was calling our names in the Bavarian Village!

Norte americano comidas de Mexicano at its worst. I should have known from the greasy stairs and lardy airs what to expect. 100 percent resturaunt-supply gruel. The service is great and kind and helpful, just don’t eat the food.

The best Michelada I’ve had. Spicy and so flavorful. Also the food is great(especially the Super Burrito) and healthy proportions.

4 words. LOVETHEIRCABBAGESALSA! Yep, free chips, red salsa AND cabbage salsa, too! So good. I am rejoicing because the other Mexican Restaurant in town(South) charges for chips and salsa(lame). Service has always been friendly and fast. It’s your typical good family Mexican food with melted cheese on the food(so order your combo plate without cheese if you’re lactose intolerant). This place always satisfies my craving when I want Mexican food. Go for a long hike or mountain bike ride and enjoy the calories. :)

Okay so we went to the other Mexican restaurant first. They had a 2.5 hour wait time and an unfriendly host team. We then walked a block away and ended up here, boy am I glad we did! They were super busy but still on the ball, we did not have a reservation but were still sat immediately. I have eaten Mexican food from Florida to Tijuana and this is one of my best experiences ever. My wife and children also agree. Come here for a great meal and you just can’t lose. Thanks for making my night.

I’ve been to and eaten in Leavenworth at least a dozen times at a dozen different restaurants. I must say I am surprised I’ve never eaten here. I was inclined to go to South but Leavenworth being a bit of a tourist trap rip-off as-is, I decided to try to find something not as much of being«the in place» to eat and more reasonable. Los Comperos hit the bullseye. This is your standard family Mexican restaurant, executed well at a reasonable price especially for Leavenworth. Unless I’m in the mood for German food, this will be no new«go to» place to eat in Leavenworth. Service was friendly and to say attentive is probably an understatement. So attentive, the pace of the meal felt a bit hurried like«get ‘em in, feed ‘em and get ‘em out» Everything was very good, not gourmet of couse, but very satisfying. There are better deals on the menu than others. A giant beef burrito with sour cream, guac, and the whole works was $ 11 where chicken fajitas was $ 17 which was really loaded with peppers and onions more so than chicken breast but well seasoned. Two mole enchiladas $ 11. All the seafood options were $ 17 up, which, for Leavenworth ain’t too bad. Pleasant dining area, nothing fancy but comfy. Great place for large families. A very solid 4+ stars. Proved you don’t have to pay out the nose in Leavenworth for good food.

I normally judge a Mexican restaurant’s food by the quality of beans. While this was about average, I was however impressed with the service and very pleased with the food as a whole. A well run establishment, we received our food quickly and the food was enjoyable. Located on the second floor above a more expensive Italian café it is a good choice for someone who is looking for a quieter experience for average prices. Also the strawberry lemonade was awesome.

Spending the Christmas holiday on Leavenworth, Los Camperos was pretty much the only place place that was opened around noon. I was hungry and told my husband let’s give this place a try. The moment we walked in it looked like they were running on half staff. Being the very one or two places open around lunch time they were trying to keep up. I picked a chile relleno and a chicken burrito combo and my husband ordered also a chile relleno and a queso tamale(everything was swimming in red sauce). Here’s where it went down hill: — they served us old rice.(yes it was old, dried out and crispy) — they got the tamale order wrong(my husband order queso ‘cheese’, he got beef. however, the owner was kind enough to remake it and apologized for the mistake). — service was SLOW.(I think it was just the owners and a younger man running the floor with half of the dining room being filled) Later that evening I wasn’t feeling well about around midnight I began to feel extremely queasy. From about midnight to four in the morning I was praying to the porcelain gods(take a minute to think about it), to make it stop. I got food poisoning. It was the worst feeling I have ever had due to the meal I had earlier. I was stuck in bed the next day trying to recover, so yea I’m not going back. They officially ruined mexican food for me for awhile.
