Go for the beer, not the food. As hyped as the menu is, its just meh. I havent gotten anything yet that i would say is better than ok. The beer on the other hand is great. They have a really large selection. Plus its the only place in town to see live music. Its also one of the few places to watch a game.

I had just one of the Death Nectar wings, Zowie! A basket of buttered toad was my rescue… great wing, hot but great flavor. Beer selection was superb. Lots on tap, hopefully they start doing flights or samplers. Pizza was pretty good!

I love Grinders and Grinders West in KC and Grinders Stonewall in Lenexa. Grinders High Noon has the same great food. The pizza is thin crust and significantly sized per slice, lots of cool toppings and always have to get some tots and hot sauce no matter what else I’m having. Nice big barroom with stage, pool and interesting bar with lots of beer choices. My only question /issue is why all of that open space with the high ceilings is not filled with art, or mobiles, or something interesting. I know the owner is an artist and showman — fill up the canvas! A great start and a big improvement from what was the High Noon previously.

The location seems a little grimy. For the fact that it(re)opened not too long ago, the tables and chairs seem a bit old and wobbly. And unfortunately I have leaned into sticky or wet spots on the tables before. For the amount of staff(or just random people with Grinder’s T-Shirts and Home Depot aprons) they have walking or standing around, you’d think it’d be spotless. I wish there’d be a little more healthy choices on the menu. The salads are great but get boring after a while and the other things are pretty greasy. But of course, that is just my personal opinion.

I was not impressed with this place at all. We went with friends to watch a Royals game during the series. It was busy but we were seated fairly quickly, that is the only good thing I have to say. We ordered apps that were brought out 35 minutes later. They were ok, not worth the price in my opinion. The drinks were so expensive. I ordered a bud lite after hating a sex on the beach my husband ordered me. I opened it up and it was flat! I have never in my life had a flat beer. The waitress apparently didn’t believe me when I asked for a new one as she literally smelled the beer for a good 20 seconds. We ordered a small pizza, we got half cheese and half Italian sausage. I thought it was disgusting. It was chewy and Luke warm, the cheese wasn’t melted at all. The sausage was overly salty and very greasy. I ate half a piece and called it good. I will not be going back. You are much better off spending money at Ten Penny.

So this place grew on me substantially after being in Leavenworth for nearly two weeks. At first I thought it was pretty middle of the road, but after exploring what the rest of the bustling metropolis that is Leavenworth has to offer… this is actually the best bar in town. The on tap beer selection(for this town) is unparalleled. Gets pretty popping on Friday and Saturday night, live band. Given– the majority of the people in the bar will be +35 years old. Andrea and Shannon are two lovely bartenders. The kitchen is willing to work with you when it comes to adjustments on the menu. I have been stuck in this town for 11 days now, yet I keep coming back to this place amongst all the others.

Love the service! Goat cheese salad is my favorite. Multiple beers on tap and anything you want in can or bottle. Pizza is very good. Do not eat the turkey Philly cheese steak… kinda gross. Definitely try the tots with barbecue, you will not be disappointed. Overall awesome place.

The Philly cheese steak was GREAT!!! My wife had wings and said they were comparable to BIf fail wild wings. The margarita was a lil watered down, but the beer selection was Awesome!!! Great place for couples or a group of friends, I wouldn’t bring kids though. They stay open till 1 am.

Grinders bought out the High Noon Saloon. They made the inside more fancy, but the food is significantly worse. I have been twice and do not plan to return anytime soon.

Great food, good atmosphere and awesome staff. What more could you want? The food is good, but the pizza is unexpectedly amazing. The«Big Ass Burger» is one of my favorites. Takes two hands to tackle that monster.

Oh my goodness. Try the California BLT. Their bacon is coated in brown sugar and baked. Yes. Heaven. The best thing I have ever eaten. My kiddo got the child’s pizza. It was huge. I had a bite. Yum. Thin crust. There are 2 pool tables and a pretty awesome bar. Family friendly though.

Beer selection is great. A lot of regional craft beer, which is a plus. However, their«famous» pizza by the slice option was LACKING to say the least. The barkeep stated it was made to order. I ordered slice of cheese and a pepperoni slice. Luke warm… barely hit the oven. Killed my experience. 2 slices for $ 6… not getting that again. Beer ONLY4 me please ;-)

We were considering this restaurant for an upcoming event however due to very poor customer service we will take our business elsewhere. We were meeting friends so who we assumed was the host escorted us around. Once we determined our friends had not yet arrived he stopped us at a table and said he’d be back with menus. Within seconds a waitress approached us to tell us we needed to see the hostess. The first of what would be many crappy interactions with the staff. To make a long story short I’m not sure if the staff ever received any training bc our food, drinks, and bills were jacked up and whenever their mistakes were pointed out the response was very negative basically trying to blame the customer. This is also not a place for kids under the age of 6 as their kids food and cups are in adult sized portions.

We have been to Grinders several times and have been pleased with our service and the food. We have tried the pastrami, the burgers and the reuben which was our favorite! Thinly sliced meat with juicy flavor and awesome rye bread! The salads are good, the soup spicy and good and the pizza was great! We had the tandoori chicken pizza and it was wonderful.

I had to ask for my margarita to be fixed, as it tasted like water, the«bartender» put an extra shot in, still tasted like water. I even passed it around the table and everyone agreed. Then I took it to the bar, received some unjust sass from the bartender,“I know what I put in it,” she said. I asked for a Coke. I’ve been waiting on food for about 20 minutes, getting ready to just leave. Horrible. I will never return.

Decent place to grab some food and probably one of the best bar atmosphere places in town. Pizza is average. Philly steaks are great… highly recommend!

Newly opened a couple of weeks ago this is great. Menu is the same as Grinders at Crossroads, & the food is too! We had Phillies with onions, and banana peppers with cheese wiz, on a great Amorosi roll. Best Phillies this side of Phillie. Service was great, and so is the atmosphere, which is about the same as the old high noon, but removing the kitchen walls was a nice touch. Daily food and drink specials are a plus too. I recommend you give it a try!

So, decided to check-out the new Grinder’s High Noon in Leavenworth. Took my lovely bride for lunch today. Here are my observations: Location — Not much different than the original High Noon, vice the removal of the wall between the dining area and the kitchen. This move served to open-up the space even more, as well as go a bit trendier with being able to watch the preparation of the food. I would add that the California Pizza Kitchen has been doing this since the early 90’s, but it seems to have finally caught on. Atmosphere is nice, and a hint of classic rock wafting in from the bar area was relaxing and not annoying in the least. I should say here that we chose to eat in the dining area rather than the bar because we wanted few distractions while we ate and discussed the food. Next time, it will be in the bar. The place was near full at 12:45, but we were seated immediately. Menu/Selection — Liked the menus, held together with a ring and bottle opener. Unfortunately, the hostess also had to grab a paper«brunch» menu(They do breakfast items until 1pm, it seems), and a paper«brew» menu that looked like it came hot off a 1972 mimeograph machine(it wasn’t pretty). No problems with this, as I could just read the beer menu, and decided on a «Torn Label» IPA(mmmm, so good!). The food menu had a few surprises. Their appetizer list is robust, with prices averaging $ 7-$ 10. We opted for the guacamole(as we often do), and water to start. I was surprised to see their side dish list, which included surprises like Olive Salad, Smoked Gouda Potatoes, and Tomato & Cucumber Salad. My wife opted for the California BLT, and I just had to go with a Sausage Grinder. Here I will mention my only issue with the experience: no side came with the Grinder, while the sandwiches and burgers all came with sides. My wife had the homemade potato chips, and I ordered a side of tomato and cucumber salad. The menu is quite robust yet focused. From pizza and calzones, to burgers and hot wings, there really is something for everyone available, and I look forward to tasting more items on this menu. The Food — Everything was hot and very fresh. The guacamole was the closest to what I make at home I have ever tasted, sparsely seasoned to allow all of the avocado, onion, cilantro, and tomato flavors to shine. Kudos also for piping hot, nicely salted fresh tortilla chips. You can’t really fake those! When our main dishes arrived(very quickly, BTW), we swapped bites of our sandwiches. First, the California BLT is something I WILL get in the future! The bread is a fairly thick multi-grain wheat, but it was lightly toasted with butter, and held-up to a sandwich which can easily fall apart with the wrong bread. This one did not, and was the perfect vehicle for peppery bacon, sliced avocado, a nice mayo-based spread, and perfectly ripe tomato slices. The biggest surprise was what can only be described as a distinct BBQ sauce flavor. We couldn’t find any sauce, so we assume it’s part of the bacon. That is one secret I’d like to be let in on, because, for me, this was the best restaurant BLT I’ve ever tasted! If you are a fan of BLT’s, you MUST try this! The homemade chips that came with the sandwich are also something that can easily become a «must have» here, as they were perfectly cooked, and had a look and feel almost like cracklin’s. Hard to describe, but just know that these chips put other homemade chips to shame. My wife differs with me on this, but I’m fatter than she is, so my opinion holds more weight… literally. I had the Sausage grinder, and it was good. a couple small issues — the roll it was on seemed like it may have been a little stale, or left in a warmer a little too long. The ends of the roll kind of disintegrated in my hand. I would also have liked a little more spice in the meat. It was more like a traditional meatball mix than a good Italian sausage. The sauce is their basic red marinara, and the amount of cheese is good. The ‘mater and cuke salad was good, but lacked a touch of salt. The Service — having worked in the service industry, I know what it’s like when you are opening a new place. Only a couple of small foibles, but the service was fast, and our waitress, Jenn, did everything she could to make sure we were taken care of. The main issue I have here is that, when the bill came, Jenn just placed a check on our table. Now, I could be wrong, but this normally tells me that I need to pay at the front on the way out. I laid down her tip in cash, then we walked up to the front. I was promptly told that we were to pay at our table. Hmm… no little check folder with the little card slot. This needs some process work. Did I mention that, in the less than two minutes it took me to go to the front counter and find a sauce then return to the table to find Jenn to pay, our table had been cleared and was almost ready for the next customer. Yeah — they are FAST with the busing! Final Thoughts — Grinders is here to stay!

Eh, it was ok. Service was fast and friendly and the food came quickly. While the portion on the Turkey Philly was plenty, it was quite dry. I may go back – not sure. I would recommend it, but your mileage may vary. Of course, there aren’t really any new places in Leavenworth, so you may want to give it a try.

I was lucky enough to experience one of their VIP pre-opening brunches, and it was amazing. I was never at the old high noon saloon, but this space is really cool and fresh. Go kart tires for light fixtures, and an airplane wing for a bar top, show the true creativity of their owner STRETCH. The bacon bloody Mary, the Mimosa, the biscuits & gravy and even our friends omelette were all amazing. I found the service to be refreshingly fun, and even remarked to our table guests — that they all seemed genuinely Joyeuse, and it even looked fun to be on their team. I’ve been a fan of the downtown grinders for more than 10 years, and always wondered how they could do such a great job in such a tiny space… Grinders high noon is HUGE– and I’m sure it will rock just as hard.

I was lucky enough to get a seat at the Grinder’s High Noon soft opening. The owner has done a superb job of renovating the facility, he maintained the feel of the historic building while modernizing the facility, added a new bar, function rooms, games, and refurbished the kitchen. The service as you’d expect for the first day was phenomenal, the servers and mangers were knowledgeable about the menu and offered up recommendations on the plethora of choices. We sampled the crab rangoons and chicken strips, both were served piping hot and well seasoned, some of the best crab rangoons I have ever tasted! I chose the«Fun Gi» Pizza, which had a white sauce and different types of mushrooms. To start the crust was perfect, something you’d find in a Northeastern Mom & Pop pizza joint, the sauce was well seasoned with a good amount of cheese, garlic and olive oil– it was awesome! We talked to the bar manager who explained how he’s in the process of brewing and bringing in more of a variety of beers to High Noon. We saw the owner a few times but as you’d expect he was extremely busy so I hope we get to meet him next time. Grinder’s High Noon is legit, a true culinary establishment that was much needed in the Leavenworth area. It opens up officially on 28OCT15 — GETINLINE!
