I decided to take the kids up to Snow Creek ski area for a ski lesson. We live about an hour from here and had an early lesson so we wanted to grab an inexpensive hotel room the night before. I have to say I was quite impressed with this place from the minute we walked in. The lobby has been recently remodeled in a swanky 70s style modern décor. The front desk gal was warm, friendly and professional. The rooms are clean and comfortable with mini fridge and microwave, coffee maker in each room, as well as a complimentary breakfast, which isn’t bad at all. We drove a few minutes down the road to have dinner at some Mexican place that was pretty good(I can’t remember the name of the place). We popped up in the morning, ate our complimentary breakfast and headed to Snow Creek. We pulled up in 20 minutes later. It was great! It was such a good experience that we came back up to do it again. This time friends from Houston are coming and bringing their kids who have never seen snow or been skiing before. We plan to gather in front of that great fireplace in the lobby for wine, cheese(which I brought from home), visiting and a game of charades, maybe. The front desk girl remembered us from last time and will probably join us, which would be perfectly cool with me. Love this place…

I stayed here overnight before an early morning flight out of Kansas City. The condition of the hotel and friendliness of the staff were excellent. The parking lot was well lit and conveniently near the highway. The updated bathroom and furniture in the room made it feel very modern. I’ll agree with the previous reviewer that the rooms were a little smaller than some, but it was just fine for me and my wife. I would have given it five stars, but given that I only stayed for one very short night and didn’t experience the ammenties or food, I’ll reserve that last star for a follow up stay. I’ll definetly consider this location the next time I am visiting KC or the Leavenworth.

Super staff and a great and varied breakfast are the main selling points for this new but small hotel near the main gate of Fort Leavenworth. Rooms were a bit cramped and there is not much in the area. Noise from the hallway and upstairs was noticeable. New as of September 2014 and once the shine wears off not sure what will keep you coming here other than previously mentioned staff, food, and proximity to base.
