These are timeshare condos that also get rented out. We enjoyed our stay and the room was clean. You won’t get any room service unless you stay 9 nights so plan on using the same towels unless you ask the front desk(they leave at 6PM daily). Also we were warned that our room keys can easily get erased if you put them near a cell phone or credit cards and the charge if after hours to let you in in $ 75. So ask for a third room key and out it in your vehicle as a backup. We had a room and the description stated balcony or patio and we had neither but luckily there was another room available and they move us. Price really is the 3 star.

The location to downtown is great and within walking distance of most everything Leavenworth has to offer. The surrounding scenery and views are breathtaking and majestic. Indescribable. The staff here is unwelcoming and uninviting. You can tell they are a timeshare where customer service doesn’t seem to be a top priority for any of the staff(other than housekeeping who seem very pleasant — but they are tip based). While the bed was very comfortable, the hotel décor and furnishings were out of date. Needs updating. Website had erroneous information on it. No hot tub in existence. Hot waffles is a nice touch but«Continental breakfast» is only a self-made waffle and plastic cup of fruit. Don’t plan to be wowed. Garage and parking are tight and difficult to maneuver. Not enough spaces for rooms. Not sure about overflow parking. If you have a room on the bar side, plan to be awake until they close. Patrons are loud and spend time on the patio facing the hotel. Yet if you are on the opposite side of the building, plan to wake up at 6:30a when the construction starts on the new spa. If I was a hotel, I would be on those entities for noise ordinance — but that would be extending a service. And that would be if the staff knew — as no one is on site after 6p. If you are a smoker — warning warning warning. The hotel will charge you a smoking fee if you smell like smoke coming into the building — even if you don’t smoke in the hotel nor your room. Non-negotiable if the charge is assessed.

I just checked in to the blackbird lodge and seriously, I’ve never been somewhere I’ve felt so unwelcome. The front doors lock at 6pm and the after hours phone personnel are cold at best. Stay somewhere else.

Nice rooms BUT… The fact that they have a STRICT policy that you cannot check in ATALL before 4:00 pm just completely bugged the heck out of me. If the room is ready… who cares!!! That just burned my cookies.

Very nice hotel but if you get a room by one of the few bars that stay open all night you are out of luck.

Decent hotel. One huge drawback is that the parking lot is currently three blocks away. The rooms are nothing special but fine. I wish they had a hot tub.

Dropped the kid off at the grandparents and brought my wife to Leavenworth to re-experience Germany… we lived there for a year. We stayed at the Blackbird Lodge, and WILL stay here next time we visit as well.

So what in the name of god, happened to this place?! This use to be my #1 choice to stay when visiting Leavenworth. The views of the mountains and rivers from the balconies are awe-inspiring. The architecture is as authentic as one can get in Leavenworth. The concierge-hostess was attractive and knowledgeable. Rooms were clean. Towels smelled like a wild flower garden, crisp, fresh and soft. Breakfast came promptly and was served on a huge tray through a Euro-style nook cupboard right into your own room(you new it was time to get up because the smell of freshly cooked bacon filled the bedroom). But then something happened. I have no idea what, something just did. Awhile back some genius [Vacation Internationale Timeshares] decided to make condos out of the pension(yeah, it use to be called ‘Blackbird Pension’ I think), then it all went funky. Their web site use to be attractive and inviting, now it’s ugly, lame and gives you an advertisement to their other hotel in friggin London, UK of all places; AND a link that sends you to some web site that you have to search, like for an hour, just so you can see their rates. And their rates are not cheap. I look forward to the day when they return to their old selves. What an outright shame.
