Ozark Outdoors Riverfront Resort

Every member of the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We got a late start and were going to be late for our scheduled float trip. We called and the person who answered happily let us take the next available trip. We had a bit of trouble launching our boat and the staff member there was extremely patient and helpful as well. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at the Meramec Chalet. The cabin was very well equipped. Great layout, with 3 floors and plenty of room to stretch out. The place was spotless.

Amazing campground and staff! We stayed in the late night area and really enjoyed ourselves. Dave, the security guard was very helpful and made every opportunity to stop and say hi, he really made us feel comfortable. All of the staff spoke very highly of the owners and their hospitality. The campground was well staffed and everyone was very polite and helpful. Thank you for making our vacation a wonderful one, we will definitely be back!

This is the areas premium camp ground at premium prices. The grounds and facilities are well maintained. The shop is well stocked with nearly anything you could think of to forget. They have a great fish station that always seems to be cleaned. The real restrooms and showers are close. The showers require quarters. The many other campsites are also really close (for good or bad). They have two sections that help with this: a family section and a party section.
We have stayed here several years in a row. The spot we stayed on we were mixed about because while we
liked where it was, so did everyone else. So people walking through our campsite regularly (even on week days).
We really like their dog policies (they allow them on rafts as long as they are properly groomed).
The thing that sent us elsewhere this year were their raft prices. With a larger group we just couldn’t justify spending twice as much anymore.

If I could give it a negative star I would.
Where do I begin? First i paid for our reservation in full over the phone, over a month in advance, then checked my bank account and they double charged me. So over $ 500 was charged. I then had to fight to get it back they stated they didn’t double charge me, my bank got it back for me. The prices are way higher than other camp grounds in the area. Then this week I have been calling them since Monday about the weather we are getting. Today Friday they call and cancel on us and they wont give us a refund, they are stating there is no camping at all this weekend but if the river goes down at all tonight they will put us out on the river. How does that work you expect us to float but have no where for us to stay? sounds absurd They are claiming that changes weren’t made 8 days in advance. I’m sorry your whole town is flooded the rivers are flooded and there is no access to get to your campground, but since you didn’t cancel on us 8 days in advance you wont refund our money. The reason we were going to float to begin with was because we had a bunch of family in from Colorado and were doing my brother in laws 30^th birthday. They got their money and are being completely rude about giving it back.

This is by far the nicest campground within a few hours of St. Louis. Just got back from our 7^th annual float trip at Ozark Outdoors and we are never disappointed. Every year we return we are excited to see the new improvements to the property. The staff and owners of the property do everything they can to make you feel at home, and that, along with the beautiful riverfront views have made it our only destination for outdoor fun. Our group of 25 was spread across the campground so the young adults could be rowdy in the late night area and we could enjoy nature in the camper area. While we enjoy tent camping in the summer Ozark Outdoors also has cabins, chalets and hotel rooms for the colder weather or less adventurous.
For a real treat, try them out in the off season for a very quite and relaxing get away.

I’ve been to other camp/​float destinations in the area, and this is the first where I actually felt like my money was well spent.
First off, the place is really a resort of sorts. Upon arriving they have a huge lodge, with a store that you can buy food (and everything else you forgot to bring along the way) and other necessities. There are plentiful bathrooms that are actually clean. Next door there is a restaurant as well.
They really excel at quick and efficient check-​in. I had my reservations and paid in advance, so upon arrival, they checked our group in, and printed out tags for our vehicles. Same thing for floating — we showed up, and the bus was there and loading us in 5 minutes.
Ultimately, if you’re looking for the «party» atmosphere — lots of friendly people, drinks on drinks, etc; this is a great spot to do it. The campsites are close together so you can easily meet your neighbors, there’s music going all over the place, and I even saw a few fireworks. The river was the same; lots of rafts, music, people helping your group out when you get stuck. Overall, a solid weekend party. I will definitely be returning (hopefully this summer and not next!)

These guys are solid. Have been using them for years. They keep all your information in their computer and can pull you up with ease when you call. they have a well stocked store with supplies and food. Nice campground area with many sites on the water. Clean showerhouses (bring lots of quarters) with hot water and flush toilets. I have done everything from 4−5mi floats to a 23mi overnight. I have rented canoes and brought my own. Staff is very friendly and flexible.
For those complaining this place is crowded with lots of drunks, make sure you are staying in the family area. And if you still aren’t happy, just try visiting one of the many other places in the area to see how much better this place is!
