This is a diamond in the rough. Food is delicious, especially if you enjoy it the southern way; fried. Staff are SUPER friendly and helpful. And some of the BEST homemade caramel cake!!! Don’t miss out!

For all of you having trouble finding this location from the map, you want to be at the junction of Hwys. 234 and 55. It’s right there on the NE corner.

I’m not giving NF five stars for its mullet or catfish. (I hadn’t eaten that much fried food in ten years and frankly felt like it was unsafe to drive afterwards for fear of passing out.)
However…let it be known… Nothing Fancy has better fried green tomatoes than the Whistle Stop Café.
I would drive out just for two (heaping, hot, amazing) plates in a hail storm with aliens invading.
Just a heads up, they don’t keep city hours — get there before 8:30 or go home hungry.
