Wonderful community business! My son was looking for donations for his Boy Scout Eagle Project which will benefit the Central Texas(Leander) SPCA animal shelter, and Farmer’s Nursery went above and beyond helping us out. Not only did they donate plants and a tree, Kevin helped us design a good layout for the planter bed being constructed. Can’t thank him enough!

My husband and I always shop here for our vegetable garden. Farmer’s Nursery has the freshest plants and great prices! We stopped by recently and picked up artichoke, chives, and others, plus asparagus that was really taking off! I just love the flowers I picked up too.

I did get an email from Kevin and he has agreed to come out and fix it when he has time. I told him it was no rush and I’ll update this when it’s fixed.

Just got my sod delivered and installed today by Farmer’s and I have to say it is worth every penny! The delivered sod looks fantastic(better than my 2 month old front lawn) and the guys that did the installation were fast, courteous and cleaned everything up when they were done. I’m so happy with the way the backyard looks now I had to take a hour break and just sit out there and admire it. Thanks Farmer’s!

Had the owner come up to our house to look over the property and give us an estimate on a few things He seem like a nice guy. We never heard back from him and he never returned my multiple calls. I even stopped down a couple of times and left him a note asking him to call me. He never did. I think they are focused on commercial work, but that is no excuse for unprofessionalism.

Unimpressed. After reading the reviews we drove by Farmer’s. It’s close and convenient. We saw 2 or 3 people that I think worked there, but it was hard to tell because whenever I tried to go up to them for help, they would excuse themselves and wander off somewhere else. They didn’t seem busy… but didn’t seem to want to be bothered by customers. Eventually we gave up and left.

I built a pond and put in a stone patio from 2006 to 2007. Finsihed the hole one year, finished the project the next. Kathy and Farmer’s Nursery were indespensable. Located just a block from my Leander home, I became known to Kathy as «Sandy» by the time it was over because of all the trips I made to pick up sand and decomposed granite. Kathy also heads up the Leander Garden Club. I have bought many organic gardening supplies, organic vegetables and herbs, trees and native plants at Farmer’s. There is a demonstation plot for local grasses like several types of Zoysia. Many of my fruit trees are from Farmer’s.

As we all know, if you live in Leander or Cedar Park, your dirt isn’t really dirt, it’s a fine mix of caliche w/grass on top. My wife and I were in the market for a Texas Mountain Laurel, aka the Mescal bean plant. Home Despotism had a poor selection and whatya know… their people in the nursery didn’t know jack about plants to grow in zone 8b… a side note… it freezes here at least 2x a year. Anyways…we venture over to Farmer’s grass and they have 3 gallon Mountain Laurels that were only $ 2 more(a negligible difference) than the Home Despot. We also bought mulch for our beds and their«garden mix» dirt for my raised beds. Well to say the least, they have a great selection of shrubs and plants and the lady(Kathy?) there is quite knowledgable. We bought a nandina and jessamine and veggies and seeds. One time we were looking for salvia, and the man told us to try cuttings. Well ya know… if you can’t afford a plant, he gives you tips on how to propogate your own. Now that’s cool. Got shade? they have plants that like shade too. It’s not all fun in the sun at my place. Take that home despotism… Leander Local business(1) | Home Depot(0). They also have organic solutions for your lawn, garden… Sometimes, when Kathy isn’t there, the people aren’t as helpful. But all in all, this place is great if you want to shop local and get some knowledge along the way. Gardeners are always trying new things. So if you need dirt, bring your truck, i think they charge for delivery. They have a nice selection of trees and grass as well.

Not right ON183 it’s a little hard to find. In the market for a tree? You might keep this place in mind. You want to grow some veggies in this hard-clay CP soil? Then get some of their compost or a cubic yard of soil. That’s what I had them deliver for my raised beds in the fall and I’m still picking sweet lettuce that has overwintered well. And how ’bout those tomatoes? They got near as tall as me I tell you, they know how to mix their dirt in this plant nursery. They’ve got landscape plants and grasses that do well in Texas clime I bought some grapes: black Spanish so the trellis they can climb. The ambiance is not«gift shop» it is more like«working farm»; you almost expect a rooster to walk out behind a barn. The staff seem to know their stuff there and not just give you pretty talk straight shooters, ‘s what I call them oh, and they got mulch and rock.
