We’ve ordered takeout from Esteban’s several times recently through the holiday season, when I’ve had my feel and fill of ham and turkey and wanted something different. Their salsa and green sauce is pretty darned good. We buy a quart of both to have some to snack on while we’re visiting around the holidays. I just wanted to post this update to say they’ve been fantastic with their to-go orders we’ve gotten from them as much as I’ve enjoyed dining in, so I’ve enjoyed takeout too. Thanks for keeping me from dying of ham overload, Estaban’s!

Yuck. I eat Mexican food from pretty much anywhere and I had to push my plate away it was so bad. The food was warm at best but served on a very hot plate and zero flavor. Service was sub par. Won’t be back.

Just an average Mexican restaurant that u can find on just about any corner in Houston. Nothing special to bring me back. Margaritas were just average. We had fajitas and chicken tacos. 2 stars is about all I can give. Wait staff did a very good job. Not much else to say except average.

I recently moved back to the area, and was excited to try Estabans to see if it lived up to what I remembered of it. It was as good as ever!

I ordered beef enchiladas without cheese, because I’m lactose intolerant, they put cheese on my enchiladas. When I called to complain, they hung up on me. I tried the food I ordered and it tastes like they use Wolf Brand Chili for the sauce. I will never again give this dump my business.

Best Tex-mex and service I’ve had in a very long time! If you try the Mazatlan plate, I assure you that you will not try another tex mex chain restaurant again. The food is always fast and fresh and the people there are over the top friendly :)

First time here, very friendly staff, food came really fast, and the food was good, kinda pricey. A group of 4 came out to be $ 54.00, but that is because someone in my party got the wrong thing and they changed him for both plates, so not really their fault, only negative thing I can say about this place is they don’t have military discount.

This restaurant has been a long time fav eatery here in League City. Great food and drinks that is always reasonably priced makes it stand out! Homemade flour and corn tortillas made to order makes this a true authentic Tex-Mex restaurant. I’m talking a person working there physically rolling out the dough and masa to make it as fresh as can be! Good Rita’s and tender fajitas is an item you never can go wrong with! Thanks to all the staff and the owners for making this one of our favorite restaurants to visit regularly!

Ordered the Esteban’s Nachos with both beef and chicken fajita meat. Each of the chips had one big CHUNK of a cubed piece of meat on top of beans and cheese. The beef was typical fajita seasoning, the chicken was bland — both were tough. The queso tasted like it came out of a jar and was heated up. Chips and salsa(both red and green) were the highlight of the meal. Service consisted of a waiter that took our order, 15 – 20 mins later(note the order above) dropped the plate on the table and announced«here you go, enjoy your meal» then he walked away. Never checked on us or asked if we needed anything. He showed up to take an order at the table next to us and we had to ask for the bill(we never saw him until he showed up at that table). Let’s just call him the MIA-waiter. But I have to mention the place was nice and it was clean. That and the salsa is what gave this place two stars rather than one. However that isn’t enough to try it again. Will not return — would not recommend.

This is my go to place for Mexican food for lunch. The Nueve lunch special is heaven!!! And they are very reasonable priced. I don’t love their salsa, but the chips and green sauce are good. Everything seems fresh and is very tasty. Decent flour tortillas.

Red Sauce was warm turn off 1, Green sauce looked like baby puke turn off 2, ordered a sampler some things were fried to hard and the nachos were soggy chips with meat/cheese, But the service was superb its a family friendly place that’s why it received 2 stars, my companion’s meal of tamales were just blah as biting on a old shoe :-(and he’s a dog

My favorite local place for great Mexican Food. Tonite I had the Chili Cheese Enchaladas with onions but, tonite I had my waitress substitute beef instead of the cheese filling. It was fabulous as usual! We also ordered a large order of Guacamole without any lettuce for our appetizer. The wife ordered one of her favorites, the Ixtapa Combo platter with two cheese enchiladas, a tamale, Crispy beef taco, queso chip, and the Charro beans. It was all good and we had sweet tea with our dinner. I would of had the house Margarita if I hadn’t of had to work the next morning! As usual the wait staff was great and the atmosphere good!

Had a family member’s birthday there recently. The fajitas were excellent. It was catered in the building back behind the actual restaurant. Good stuff.

The pablano fajitas were tasty but not very spicy. The tortilla soup was good. The beans and rice lacked seasoning. Best thing was the made — to — order spicy salsa. Full of flavor and a good heat level. The sopapillas were delicious but you really can’t go wrong with fried bread and honey. Service was fantastic.

Swear to god, public school education is not effective at all. Every time I come here I get a high school kid waiter and they are in a race to the bottom to provide the worst service and generally be an ignorasaurus. I’m in the practice of not calling out waiters for their bad service but the worst one I had last time was a heavy blonde kid with glasses. He couldn’t do the math when he carded me for my margarita drink, then started arguing with me, then refused to serve me. I got really hot but instead of eliminating him from the gene pool I helped him with his math. Maybe he was just sheepish I embarrassed him, or maybe he just is that incompetent, but we had terrible service the rest of the night. It’s a real shame because they have the best tex-mex food outside of the loop that I have found. The place has a little history too, it’s not in a strip mall. It survived Ike. The margarita is so-so but this is not really a place to go to get hammered. You come here for the food quality. The food is infinitely better than the other tex-mex options in the surrounding areas. As far as the food goes, there is no one best dish here, everything is good. The salsa is not that hot. Besides the awful waitstaff that is my only complaint. Because it is good food I will keep coming back here. But be warned: if you get a high school waiter ask to move to another section. There is a woman in her 40s(forget her name but you will know her when you see her) and she provides outstanding service — get a table in her section.
