Having worked with Dion for more than seven years, I can certainly attest to his ability as a coach, both for his staff and his colleagues. In his role as Associate Vice President for University Advancement at University of Houston-​Clear Lake, Dion worked with faculty and staff to procure funding for their respective projects. Prior to seeking funds, Dion would first coach university faculty and staff to help them realize their short, mid-​term and long-​term visions for their specific programs. He would then effectively identify unique partnership opportunities that would serve to realize these visions while at the same time furthering the missions of the individual, corporate or foundation funder. Always asking «why before how,» Dion would apply similar coaching strategies in meetings with his staff, to help them establish and realize their own goals.
Dion is perceptive and engaging, and has a unique ability to help those individuals who he coaches to focus on their goals while seeking creative ways to attain them.

I really like Dion as a person, photographer, and poet! The only reason I didn’t give him a 5 is because I don’t have any experience with him as a coach. If I did, I suspect that I would be easily able to rate him as a 5; he’s a 5-​star kind of guy!
