Jack’s Cafe

This is definitely a comfortable place. Warm atmosphere. Friendly service. Diverse menu. The prices are reasonable. However, I can only assume many of the other reviews are loyal locals. While I have given you an honest review about everything but the food, I am also going to give it to you straight about the food.
Started with the nachos. Canned, liquid cheese, and under seasoned ground meat. Then the soup. I was ok with the nachos, but the soup was like a generic canned chicken noodle. Three small pieces of chicken, and noodles so overcooked they were mushy. I actually wasn’t going to say anything to my daughter, because I didn’t want to come across like a negative Nelly. But she was the one that brought up the soup. Then she told me how she wasn’t impressed with the nachos, and she’s never picky. My gyro was good. I liked the meat and sauce. Her turkey club was good, but the bread was thin like a slice of wonder bread. She said Texas toast would have made it much better.
All in all, it comes down to what you want. If you want a good amount of food for a descent price, then this is your place. If you want descent food, then not so much. We won’t go back.

They are awesome. I had a small issue and they fixed it, no problem. Staff are friendly. I’m definitely impressed with the level of quality from such a small town.

Good food. I had an omelet and my husband had the steak sandwich. Neither of us can say anything bad. Would definitely add this to my diners to eat at list!

I’m guessing this is where the farmers come for breakfast. Real ham fresh fruit great pancakes awesome biscuits and gravy had a great meal. Just got back from Florida and it was great to have a wonderful Midwest breakfast!

Very good food, wide range of choices. My husband had all you can eat walleye which was a lot off food, fresh and delicious. I had cheesesteak sandwich and fries; also really good. Awesome friendly waitress

Stayed at that holiday inn right by here and decided to try them out. They were crazy busy so we ordered to take out and it was really good. The soups were very tasty, the burgers, and sandwiches were very good. The service was great and price was just right.

I have ate here a handful of times, ordering something different each time and have never had a bad experience. The service is relatively fast and the food is always hot/​cold and fresh! Lots of locals frequent Jack’s so don’t feel bad if they don’t know your name. Make sure to try some of their wonderful pies. If your looking for a recommendation the Jack’s salad is great. Chicken, cheese, egg, tomato, cucumber and BACON! enjoy!

Jake’s Café– classic place providing comfort food with a smile and a good price point. Very friendly, local establishment. Very solid option. don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

We were on way south from Wisconsin and stopped for lunch. My husband ordered a steak sandwich and potato fries and was happily surprised to be served a juicy 8 inch steak on a crusty roll. He said it was delicious. We had the complimentary beef soup with our meals. The hamburger patty on my meal was especially thick and juicy. They do an excellent job cooking meat.

I would give this more than 5 stars if i could. My mom and i were driving around Dawson Lake around supper time and decided to find a place in LeRoy to eat. My mom had heard good things about this place so we pulled in the parking lot and its always a good sign when there are many cars in the lot at a late hour. I love liver and onions so i ordered it with bacon added. The waiter said it was a popular dish. The meals come with a basket of fresh bread which adds a lot to a meal for little cost to the restaurant. The salad was large and crisp with fresh greens and veggies and my american fries and green beans were delicious. This is the way chefs should season the green beans. Eventhough canned they didnt taste it. My mom got a huge dish of chicken stir fry. We couldnt believe all the food. She said it was the best stir fry she had ever gotten at a restaurant. There was a very slight sweet sauce mixed in the dish with plenty of vegetables and an abundance of chicken. My liver was also the best ever eaten, tender and flavorfull. I will be back many times in the future!!! Great service and atmosphere and food… what else can you ask for!

Came down from Chicago and stopped in at Jack’s between baseball games during a tournament — guess it must have been about 2pm on a Thursday. Ordered coffee and an omelette. The high school boys with me ordered buffalo wings, gyro, and a buffalo chicken wrap. Food was timely and well done, including crisp fries. Staff was friendly and attentive. Coffee was fresh and enjoyable.
This isn’t a fancy gourmet place, but well executed.
Hope to be back in Le Roy to stop here again.

Surprisingly good for a quick roadside stop. I had the Southwest wrap and was impressed with the taste. Service was quick and pleasant.

Jack’s Café has become the go-​to location for a nice stop when traveling across Illinois to Ohio. Our family frequently stops here for breakfast mid-​morning, and I have yet to visit it at a time when it is less-​than-​busy. While I have not yet had to wait for a table, there are always folks around.
When looking for a standard family-​owned restaurant, where we can enjoy a quick meal, Jack’s meets those needs. We consistently have fast service, the restrooms are always clean, and while the food isn’t the most amazing thing I’ve ever eaten, it tastes better than a Perkins or other chain restaurant experiences.
I’ve had omelets a number of times, and the ingredients taste fresh. Service is quick — we pulled off the interstate and had eaten and paid within 45 minutes. The menu tends towards American food, but we could all easily find something that appealed to us on the menu.
The folks who own Jack’s Café have an interesting story, and share pieces of their history near the entrance to the café. Check it out the next time you’re there. If you’re trying to support local businesses as you traverse the US, I’d recommend swinging through Jack’s as you drive by LeRoy.

Good service. Good food. No complaints. Definitely hit the spot tonight.

A great place for breakfast! My family and I have eaten at Jack’s many times and have never been disappointed. Best breakfast in LeRoy, IL by far…

For being a new dining place in Leroy I was not really impressed. We had breakfast there on a Saturday morning and the food was below average. It looked like they were lacking servers this early in the morning as well. I also felt uncomfortable with all the security cameras that were place throughout the dining room. I understand having them at the register & outside the business but I don’t think that’s really needed while you eat.
