Artswork is FULL of gifts, accessories, clothing, artwork, and home and garden décor. Most of the items are hand crafted from artists from around the country. There are some fair trade items as well(yes!). There is a cat that roams around the shop that is pretty cute too! There are plenty of unique items to purchase or just take a peek at.

When I am Le Claire, this is always on my list of «must dos.» Deb carries an incredible array of handcrafted items and I NEVER leave empty handed. It is wonderful to find a retailer who really puts her money where her mouth is by supporting artisans and their craft. I always leave inspired.

This is my favorite shop on Cody St. The women who work here(especially Julie and Deb) are so kind and helpful. You can shop for wall art, pottery, a beautiful and vast array of jewelry, unique and fun clothing and accessories, and even furniture! There is a cute little cat that roams the store, which makes me adore this shop even more. In the summertime, they have items for sale out on the back patio which overlooks the loading area for boats dipping into the river. It’s fun to check out! I highly recommend stopping here for holiday gifts, personal gifts or just to kill some time!

Artswork was started in 1997 by Deb Willaredt and is located on the ‘main” street or Cody Road in LeClaire, Iowa. They source items from artisans all across the US and Canada. So you will be able to find interesting, generally not mass produced items including handmade clothing, jewelry and pottery. Artswork also carries several women’s co-operative items from Fair Trade such as weavings from Guatemala or knitting from Bolivia, and beaded bracelets from Somalia. The bracelets are my personal favorite.
