Decided to give this place a try. Sometimes the tummy wants what the tummy wants. So after reading these lovely reviews I decided to try the chicken pad Thai and a summer roll. The pad Thai was delicious, not too much sauce, a great huge portion and had lots of peanuts. I wish it had more bean sprouts and chicken in it however. The Summer roll was so fresh! So simple and great portions. I gave it a 4 star since it was a bit pricey, and I still would have wanted more chicken and more veggies. But overall a great place. I ordered to go so I can’t give a review over service.

What are you waiting for? Get here now! Seriously this was very good food. We showed up on a Friday and got the last table. The wait for the food was long but we’ll worth it with presentation and quality. Great date place. We had crunchy(egg) rolls as an appetizer with Tomkah(sp?) which was a coconut based soup with mushrooms and chicken. Fantastic! Thai tea to drink(try some). We then we’re served our entrees of an eggplant and tofu with roasted veggies(decent not my fav) roasted duck(I didn’t like duck until then crispy skin, juicy, in a sweet sauce which goes great on rice) and then a spicy shrimp and rice dish in a tomato basil sauce(yum!). I didn’t get the bill because my buddy bought it but after looking at the prices it’s gonna be a little on the high side for a Lawton restaurant. However, it was very good and well worth it!

This is awesome place to eat. Food was authentic. The lady was so nice and have positive attitude toward customers even she was super busy and frustrated. I would give them 6 stars if they have more staff on the floor. If you are in hurry or rush, you might be disappointed for the speed of service.

Wow! This is my new favorite place to eat. My husband and I went for lunch and had the Musaman Curry and shrimp Pad Thai. Each plate came with coconut bisque and a spring roll. Everything was amazing. My husband also tried the Thai tea and wow it was great too. I don’t have anything bad that can be said!

My number one favorite restaurant in Lawton. The food is always outstanding, they use a lot of fresh and good ingredients, they don’t skimp on portions or quality.

The food was awesome and the service was great! The ladies were nice and took care of my group of 8 with no problem. I had the summer rolls which were good but it was obvious the salad inside was just store bought prepackaged salad shoved inside of a wrap. Regardless, it tasted fine with the peanut sauce. The curry was very good too… portion size amazing. I had leftovers that I was supposed to eat the next day but ended up eating the same night. My only complaint was that there was probably only one guy working the kitchen. It took far too long for the food to come out, however it was worth it so I’m still giving 4 stars. Will be back someday.

The Bangkok fish was amazing along with the curry and phở! The presentation was beautiful! Simply a work of delicious art. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also very complimentary to its food. I recommend eating here. A hidden gem in little Lawton Oklahoma.

Clean and friendly – don’t let the outside fool you, if you can find it(truly a hidden gem). Went with good friends from Thailand and they enjoyed it too.

I was leary of this place but what the heck! Upon arriving we were greeted and seated immediately. The wife and I had no clue what to order and the waitress was very helpful and helped us on what to order. The appetizer and the entrees were out of this world good! We are definitely coming back! Pad Tai and fried shrimp wrapped in noodles!

Some of the best Thai food I’ve food since I’ve been back from Thailand. I really enjoy the owners and management are very friendly and kind. Even the décor of the has hints of the French occupation of Thailand pretty spot on. So if your in Lawton and you love Thai give this place a chance. Also they give you enough to feed a Army!

The people are nice… This restaurant has a new owner and wow can you tell the difference. The servings are huge and the food is great. For lunch you start with a small sweet and sour soup and a crunchy spring roll. For the main course what ever you order the serving is enough for two or three people. Well def come back again

Everything here was amazing. Had some Thai dumplings to start. Perfect. Had duck, green curry, and some drunken noodle. All came out perfect. Did spice level three and definitely could’ve gone hotter. The medium spice was not too much to handle at all. Will be coming back here every time I’m in Duncan. 24 miles is definitely worth it.

Meh. My boyfriend and my mouth was burning after we finished our take out meal, spice level 3. Apparently they changed the type of chilies. The one they used is spicier, so when we ordered a spice level of 3 they added the same amount of more hot chill. That resulted in us crying and perspirating at our barely touched food. We washed down our Friday dinner w milk. I ended up calling the restaurant because I was really sad out a $ 21 +tip take out meal that we can’t even eat because they put too many chilies. the manager wouldn’t get on the phone. My boyfriend always leaves a nice tip, I’m disappointed. I like spice but not burning your mouth off spice, so just ask first…

Impressive! Great place in the middle of no where! Food is perfect and authentic. The service is fast and courteous. Pad Thai tofu was good and lots on the plate! Tom Kha was sweet and creamy very tasty! Summer rolls were very good missing the tofu but tasty with the peanut sauce. Pad see ew was very flavorful, however the noodles were all broken. Tasty thou! The Thai tea is perfect

Ate here with a buddy of mine for lunch on a Sunday. It took us a few u-turns to find the place since, even though on the main road, it’s in a small nondescript yellow building hiding in the shadows of a larger building. Their restaurant sign was also very small and slightly hard to see from the road. Other than these little hiccups, everything was fine. The menu is fairly extensive. Hot dishes, noodle dishes, curry dishes, and even a few Vietnamese dishes. There is NO drink menu though. No drinks were listed on the main menu nor did they have a separate drink menu. Not to much of a concern though, all one has to do is ask the waiter/waitress. The restaurant’s décor was a little nonexistent. It was kind of an unintentional intimate setting with little lighting except from the windows and dark carpet and dark wall. None of this really bothered me though. Ordering was not difficult once you finally decide what to get. My friend had the Fruity Duck and I ordered the Pad Prik King with chicken, while we both shared a dish of Lotus Dumplings. The waiting staff will ask about how spicy you want the dish on a scale of 1 — 4. 1 being mild and 4 being extremely spicy. I got mine at a 2 and I will warn you to not underestimate the 2. One must understand that Thai food can be spicy and then it can be extremely spicy. The dumpling were a little bland but the sauce that came with it saved the dish’s taste. The menu state that all dishes come with rice unless it is a noodle dish and they do. The dishes came out with a little bit of a wait though, approximately 15 to 20 minutes after the dumplings. The dishes also came out essentially when they were done cooking it. My buddy got his plate about 4 – 5 minutes before I got mine. Both dishes had an abundance of food. I will state that I don’t think I got enough rice by my own opinion and I also don’t like that extra rice cost extra. The dishes looked and tasted excellent. My friend really liked his and I really liked mine. My spice rating of 2 took me by surprise and I was glad I did not go with a 3 or 4. Even though I was a little«tingling» as the menu stated it was still flavorful. My friend and I both believe that the pricing on the dishes are also excellent in that you get both quality and quantity. I would highly recommend this place to those that like Thai food and especially anyone that likes good food. This place was a great find.

This place is a cut above regarding service and atmosphere, although the flavors lack a little. Decent for Oklahoma; especially good for Lawton. Lunch comes with soup and small appetizer of the day. Otherwise, the tulip dumplings were tasteless, and the Tom Kha Gai soup wasn’t much better. The Panang curry was loaded with fresh goodies and thankfully reached the average mark for flavor. Brown rice is available for $ 2, but I could tell it was reheated and overcooked. Willing to try again.

This place is fantastic. They are brand new(opened in February) and serve authentic Thai and Cambodian cuisine. My wife and I tried the Tulip Dumplings, pad Thai, and a shrimp/tilapia dish, all of which were exceptional. I am definitely going to try the duck next time. We spoke to the owner a little while we were there. He was very nice and was more than willing to give you recommendations on their food. It’s a little hard to find and Unilocal shows it in the wrong spot on a map. It’s on the west side of Sheridan right across the street from Bank of America. Go to this restaurant and support a new local establishment! It’s delicious and you will literally kick yourself for not going sooner.

Thai Bistro is the second Thai restaurant to open in Lawton. I applaud the owner’s desire to bring something new to this traditional town. Thai Bistro has an extensive menu. Far beyond the standard dishes that have been available at Thai Express for the last few years, the Bistro offers a full assortment of plates for every palate. Thanks to this restaurant I’ve been able to have some of my favorite dishes for the first time in years, and it was a perfect reminder of what I’ve been missing. The first time I visited Thai Bistro was with my darling boy. He ordered Red Curry with shrimp and a side of sticky rice. His shrimp was overcooked and the curry lacked a certain punch, but it was the second day that the restaurant had been open, and he was sooooo tickled to have sticky rice that he simply pushed the curry aside and agreed to return. His second visit was more of the same, as the shrimp was again overcooked, and so was the chicken we’d asked to be added. Unfortunately they were out of sticky rice for this visit, and he went home hungry. He has asked that I bring him an order of sticky rice every time I visit, but has decided that his loyalty will stay firmly on the other end of Sheridan road. The curry at Thai Express is a more complex flavor and is closer to the Thai food we both find familiar. The curry at Thai Bistro is more subtle. I know that it will be enjoyed by many people in Lawton, but it simply lacks the layering of flavors that my son and I expect in a Thai curry.(In case it was missed, sticky rice is quite possibly the boy’s favorite food, and is sadly missing as a standard offering in most of the Thai restaurants we find.) Luckily(for me, sorry son!) my love of Thai food goes well beyond curry, so there are plenty of things on the menu for me to enjoy. The green papaya salad(Sum Tum) made my taste buds tingle, and the glass noodle salad(Yum Woon Sen) made them sing out for more. Both of these salads are fresh, light, and filled with flavor. Glass noodle salad is one of my all time favorite dishes, and I was over the moon with happiness when I spotted it on the menu here. The Pad See-Ew was also very good. The noodles were fried nicely and had just the right amount of sauce. So far the appetizers have not truly pleased me, and I will probably skip them from this point forward. The portions for the main dishes are generous enough to not need a starter, so they will be easy to avoid. I’ve only had one soup so far, and look forward to trying the others along with a few of their desserts. They offer everything from Sticky Rice with Mango to Crème Brûlée, so will have something for everyone. As of this writing(two weeks after opening) the service is still a bit spotty. Considering that this is a new restaurant and seems to be family run with an untrained staff, this is to be expected. I know that things will improve with time. I promise to give them as much practice on me as is possible. Even with the issues in timing the servers have all been pleasant and apologetic. I’ve even managed to grab a few moments to discuss ingredients and techniques with the owner, who mans the register and was happy to carry my compliments to the chef. One of the nicest things about Thai Express is the interior. This space had been a Chinese restaurant, so the new owners were able to keep a portion of the décor and simply add their own touches. The booths are a bit worn, but feature sweet bamboo placemats. The center tables are covered in white tablecloths, giving the entire restaurant a slightly upscale(for Lawton) feel. The best thing about this new restaurant is that their strengths are in places that simply don’t exist elsewhere in town. Those of us who love the food at Thai Express can dine at Thai Bistro with little conflict. I know that Lawton is big enough to support two Thai restaurants, and there is enough variance in both taste and atmosphere that they can easily fill the needs all possible patrons.
