Hastings good, comics good, prices good, … This store offers a plethora of movies and books. This is your one stop shop for all your nerd needs, I mean that in a good way it has all sorts of collectibles from all genres of entertainment

This place is still open? I had a friend who worked here for a while and they treated her like garbage. Good thing she left since she found a better job right after.

Who knew this place had so much! I’ve driven by this place a million times over the past year we’ve been living here, and I finally decided to go in. The outside looks like nothing, but you go inside and it’s like a big Barnes & Nobles or Borders Books! They have just about everything in the way of books, magazines, movies, even toys, games, and some craft kits too!

Hastings is by far my hangout in Lawton… with the wide arrangement of books, cds, movies, comics, games it satisfies all your entertainment needs.
I don’t normally buy movies here, but I do love to rent, rent, rent !! There have only been a few times that I have gone into the store with my mind set on a movie and it wasn’t there to rent, they normally keep a very good ratio of new movies to old .the deal at Hastings is… if you return the movie the next day you get a $ 2 dollar credit on your next rental, pretty awesome !! Also if you have a Blu-​Ray player the section in the store has been steadily growing the past year, its by far the largest in town. Now i know the last review i read said something about the dual discs not being included in the DVD rentals… now i had to ask my self when was the last time that i really watched the bonus features dvd on any movie or even wanted to watch bonus features… and i couldn’t really think that i have ever… are bonus features important in a rental ?
The video game section is very well stocked… every gaming system is available, and if your looking to catch a deal buy used, you normally can get the same game for half off, much like a Game Stop .
Overall great store… some of the prices on movies and books could be a little bit cheaper but I really go for the movies.

Hastings has the largest selection and widest variety of movies for rent. Like most video stores they lots of new releases and catalog titles on DVD for rent. The store also stocks a lot of foreign films, art house movies and other independent features.
Hastings was also the first video store in the Lawton area to offer movies on Blu-​ray for rent. The same was true when DVD arrived in the late 1990s. Hastings’ Blu-​ray selection is growing rapidly and is significantly larger and more varied than what Hollywood Video and Blockbuster carry. The only downside is the store’s Blu-​ray rentals are more expensive, $ 5.99 for a 7-​day BD rental. Your account will be credited $ 2 if you bring back the movie the next day. Hollywood Video charges $ 5.49 for 5-​day Blu-​ray rentals.
The store sells new and used DVDs, new and used CDs, and it may have both new and used video games for sell too (but I haven’t checked for sure on that). Hastings has a large selection of books, magazines and even out of town newspapers.
I would give the store a higher rating, but I have to penalize it for a couple of mistakes. First, prices for new DVDs, Blu-​ray movies and CDs are often higher than other retailers. Same goes for books. This ends up sending more people to online retailers like Amazon.
And here’s the thing that really gets on my nerves. While I love the variety Hastings provides in its DVD rental section, they totally blow it on releases featuring more than one disc. Why? All of their DVD rentals are put into small cases designed for only one disc. When a 2-​disc release comes into the store, they cram both discs onto the spindle in that single disc case. This practice often ruins discs right away. If scratches don’t happen immediately, just give the movie a rental or two and it will be done. You can pick up just about any movie with 2-​discs and see the second disc loose inside the case.
I have bugged Hastings’ management about this packaging problem repeatedly and they will not do anything about it. Even after all of these years the store is still continuing this destructive practice. Not many movies on Blu-​ray have multiple discs (yet), but Hastings will have worse problems on their hands if they try cramming 2 Blu-​ray discs into a single disc case. Even something as minor as a finger print may cause a Blu-​ray disc to refuse to load in the player. Minor scratches will flat out ruin a movie on Blu-​ray.
