I travel for work a lot and I really needed a good massage. However, this being a military base town I am very wary about going for a massage in places that stay open late. I can’t afford any blemishes on my record, so I didn’t want to take any chances. There’s not a lot on the net about this place, but it seems like Lawton is pro-active on keeping prostitution and shady parlors out of town. That being said, I called and found they are still in business. I went in and asked for the 1 hour massage and was led to a clean room where I disrobed to my boxers and slid under the sheet on the table. Eva is not a twenty-something, or probably even a thirty-something, and her English is not great, but she started in on my shoulders and she knew how to do a massage. She did go around to the foot of the table and slid my boxers down and off, but she kept me covered and stayed professional throughout the massage, working gradually deeper and deeper. You don’t want anybody to start deep as the pain would not be tolerable. She recognized when she hit a knot in my back and worked it methodically until it was gone. She did start dry and soft, then added lotion as the massage progressed. Before having me turn over, she left for a second and came back with a hot damp towel and wiped the excess lotion away. While on my back, she started with a nice facial and scalp massage and by the time she got to my feet I was floating. Not once did she ever expose me, touch me inappropriately, nor hint at any extras. When the massage was through she brought me a peppermint and a cup of water and left me to get clothed. Maybe this isn’t what you’re looking for in an asian massage, but if you want it above-board and legit, this place is great. They also have a shower table where you can get and exfoliating sea salt scrub before the massage and I’m thinking I’ll add this the next time I return. If you’re hungry afterwards, they’re right next to the Red Lobster on Cache Road. Thumbs up all the way… left one star off cause there’s always a little room for improvement. BTW…the rate was $ 60 for an hour and I gave a $ 10 cash tip. They accept MC/Visa.

I called to make a massage appointment at China Rose. I do not criticize people who struggle w/English. However, after I got off the phone, I had no idea if I actually had an appointment and if I did if it was in 15 minutes. I think at least one person at a business should be able to speak a minimal amount of English. I was in a bind with a headache and muscle spasms in my shoulder and neck. China Rose was the only place I could get into w/no notice. I was leery after noticing their business hours are until 10p. Uh… I have lived around more than 1 or 2 military installations. I took the leap based on the other Unilocal review. When I arrived, I pointed to the menu what I wanted — an hour long«Chinese Massage». The room appeared sanitary(see pic) and the temperature comfortable. I simply motioned to my neck and shoulder. It was a «different» massage. No real massage«lotion», so the initial massaging actually hurt. She did work on my neck and shoulder for a good portion of the treatment. Hot rocks were included at no additional fee. My neck and shoulder did feel much better and my headache dissipated. ***Update*** I have returned to China Rose multiple times over the past two years. I usually get the same lady(do not know her name), but she really digs in to my problem areas(neck and shoulder). I have to say, this place has been an acquired«taste». I have grown to like it more and more. I have never had a «walk-in» massage place where I can arrive as late as 9p. For me, I have to go after work and never know when I will need a massage. I get massages due to pain(not for relaxation), so it is difficult for me to schedule in advance. Do not expect a «spa-like» atmosphere or you will be greatly disappointed. Personally, I care about the quality of massage — not the ambiance!
