Great local Cuban Restaurant. Food, staff, entertainment– an excellent Friday night atmosphere!!! I have tried most dishes and all very tasty. I would recommend anyone looking for a Friday night outing to check out Papi’s on Duluth Hwy.

Vaca Frita is my favorite here. Full of flavor & the portions are fairly big. A little pricey but never the less delicious food.

First time here and the food was delicious! Our waiter was very helpful and kind. The table we sat at was a little dirty but other then that everything was enjoyable. Simple interior, it’s all about the food and people here. You can come on a date, with friends or family. there is delicious food for everybody’s taste!

Great food, and good drinks. Our server was a bit slow, but she always showed up to the table with a smile on her face. I would definitely recommend to anyone that likes Cuban food.

I sought out an authentic Latin Caribbean restaurant after a trip to Puerto Rico three years ago. Google led me to Papi’s and I was delighted to see a location close to home. I’ve had the mofungo, ropas viejo, and a few other options. My go to is definitely just black beans and white rice. I don’t know why beyond how flavorful the beans are but I can eat that and be satisfied. Papi’s is a cute Cuban restaurant and I’m surprised that there aren’t more Cuban spots in metro ATL. However I’m glad Papi’s is around.

Jerk chicken wrap is delectable. Great price for great food. This location may actually be better than my Midtown location which I’ve been going to for years.

Visited: 02/19/2016 We came after our movie at the AMC and decided Cuban that night! We ordered the Shrimp Scampi and the Chicken Entrée and thought it was delicious. I hadn’t been there in a while, though I have also been to other Papi’s locations. For me, Papi’s just doesn’t disappoint. I’ve had their Cuban sandwiches, burger, and shakes and have enjoyed everything! This is a place that I’d visit again and again. Oh, and if you enjoy live music and some dancing(they have it during the evening on the weekends). It is a lively restaurant that isn’t your typical dine in.

If you have never tried Cuban food, you must give Papi’s a try. I have been to the location in Midtown, Atlanta, GA, but I generally go to the location in Lawrenceville, GA, by work. It is a very spacious location with the most incredible food. They generally have some hearty and reasonably priced lunch specials. I love the Cuban sandwich, Jerk sandwich as well as the Arroz Con Pollo. Any of the Cuban meats are well worth it. The empanadas are amazing, as well. I have never had a bad meal there and you leave feeling stuffed. It is great for a small group, individuals and families. The service is always good, too.

Food, service, and restaurant atmosphere all awesome! Our server was engaging, the restaurant itself was bright and airy, the menu pretty basic, not too large or complicated. Husband and I ordered expandable sampler, Yucatan fries, medianoche sandwhich and pollo Vaca frita. The garlic sauce that accompanies the fries and empanadas is awesome, worth the trip alone by my taste. Not terribly pricy. Spent $ 35 and were beyond full!

Papua makes some really good food. But the dessert lately is pretty bad. The tres leche is really dry and it tastes like regular cake and now they add a pound of whip cream which kills the taste. When papis first opened it was truly Cuban but now it’s really Americanized, which is not a bad thing, but in this case it is. I hope you guys go back to the way you used to make food maybe switch back to the old cook.

Excellent food. Worth driving an hour. We had shrimp tostones and the pulled pork special. Mojito was just right too

Came here for lunch on a Friday and we were sat right away. I enjoyed the pictures on the wall it made me feel like I was in Cuba enjoying warmer weather. The server had a great smile throughout the entire service which made me feel welcome. I ordered the Churasco steak which was absolutely delicious. I didn’t leave anything off my plate. I am not a big fan of the beans though, I really hate when its in so much liquid. Overall I enjoyed my meal and I think I’d like to come and see the live band sometime.

Love this place, had my wedding reception here in 2012 and all my guess loved the food and service. And everytime we back in town or near any of their locations we have to grab a bite!

My first visit to Papi’s! I’m a Cuban food junkie so I was very excited to find a Cuban place nearby. Great location! Beautiful, clean, restaurant. Nice ambiance. Great place to impress on a date, business meeting, or whatever. The wait staff was VERY attentive. The manager was there and visited with us twice and even greeted us when we walked in. It was FREEZING outside on the day we visited. We order a bowl of chicken soup, for starters, to warm up. It took about 30 minutes to get soup… no idea why. The soup was sub par. The potatoes or whatever root they used had a strange texture like it had been frozen too long. The chicken was sparse. There were no other vegetables and an overabundance of noodles. The broth was tasty. Overall I’d say the soup was sub-par. It did come with warm buttered Cuban bread which was FANTASTIC. The menu needs professional help. It is designed to mislead and trick you into ordering more expensive meals. It shows you pictures of menu items that do not exist at all. For instance, we wanted to order the Papi’s Sandwich which is pictured on the menu. The Papi’s Sandwich is listed on the menu for $ 7. The image shows a beautiful sandwich with a side of rice and beans. However, when you order the sandwich you do not get what is in the picture. To get what is pictured you have to order a $ 2.50 side order of rice and beans. It’s misleading and confusing. It needs to be changed. Also the desert menu had no prices. They need to be less ambiguous about price and clear about what you get with your order. Currently the menu is clear as mud. My main course was chicken fricassee. It was very tasty. It came beautifully presented and everything was perfect. My friend got the chicken wrap, which was beautiful to look at, and surprisingly large. We both were pleased and well satisfied. The manager heard our complaints about the menu being misleading and offered us a FREE desert. We chose the Tres Leches. I hate to complain about something free, but I have to be honest. They need a new desert company or they need to get someone in there to make the desert at the location. The Tres Leches was dry. It wasn’t moist. There was not nearly enough crème. The whipped cream on top was thick and sticky instead of light and airy. The portion was great; definitely big enough to share, but it didn’t hit the mark when it came to flavor and authenticity. In conclusion, I really liked Papi’s I’ll be back, for sure. There is some work to be done, but all in all it’s a great place…

Fantastic experience. The décor was great. The service was phenomenal. Our server(William) truly wanted to be sure we enjoyed ourselves. He came to the table many times and took the time to discuss when they have live music. The Cuban sandwich is great. I got the Ray’s and my wife got the Papi’s. They have Blue Moon and Yuengling on draft which is a plus.

Came here on a Friday night because we had to wait for our movie to start. Great location, just across the street from the AMC and some favorable restaurants. Came here for drinks after eating a hearty meal and they sat us close to the patio, a door away from the hectic dance floor with blaring music. Not the most preferable seating but we weren’t that bothered. Service was friendly and didn’t mind us just sitting down for a couple drinks.

Food: $ 12.99 for the Masitas de Puerco(which is Fried pork meat with onions, Rice, side salad w/dressing, two tostones, and a small slice of cuban bread). The meal was good. Yes the fried pork was dry, but I rather have it dry than greasy. The rice was good. The bread was very hard so I did not eat it. I requested for some of their delicious green hot sauce($ 0.45) for a very, very small plastic container/side of it. Service: fast and smooth around 2:00pm on a Saturday. The restaurant was not busy/crowded so that made the service great. I have been coming to this Papis(Lawrenceville) for years and the service is a hit or miss depending on how busy they are. They usually get very busy/crowded for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. I’ve waited 1 hour &30 minutes before to be seated and an additional 45 minutes for my food before. Overall: I enjoy cuban/carribean food so I will always be back. I am a foodie. I recommend you to try this place out.
