I went in here to see if I could buy some Pan de Muerto for my students to celebrate Day of the Dead. The lady at the front was very helpful and they had a beautiful selection of Pan Muerto for $ 4 for a large one. Well worth it as it was beautiful and delicious!

This place is actually called La Victoria Bakery. I went there to buy some tamales as our family had been craving some. Although I live near this bakery, I have never ventured inside. Today, because of those cravings, I figured I would go see if they had tamales. I bought the green and red chili pork tamales. They were delicious. We will definitely be going back for more. The pan dulce was good as well.

I enjoyed two pupusas with the cole slaw and sauce plus a large piece of coconut cake for $ 5.00 total. It did take 20 minutes as Daric said. Staff was very nice and no problems with english for me. I’ll go back to try the tamales and tortas.

Not sure of the correct name or address of this place, but it’s in the front of the Herrington Place Shopping Center, right on the street so you can’t miss it if you go to this point on the map. The sign says Panaderia which I thought was the name of the place but that just means bakery in Spanish. I had two chicken tamales and three pupusas for under $ 10 total. Pupusas were made to order so it took about 20 minutes but they were the best pupusas I’ve ever had. Little cornmeal pockets stuffed with cheese and pork, then grilled golden brown and melty. Comes with a little orange sauce that looks spicy but it not bad and some Mexican coleslaw. Tamales also very good. Staff was very friendly and spoke decent English but I’m still unsure if they serve Tortas as the signage would indicate and were just out today or if they never have them… But I think their main business is the sweets. Cabinets full of wonderful looking and smelling muffins, donuts, mini-cakes, danishes, croissants, etc. I was too full to try any but will rectify that soon. There is no décor to speak of and only two small tables but everything was clean and the staff was singing along with the radio as they worked preparing countless desserts. This would be an excellent place to go as an alternative to Krispy Kreme if you wanted to get a little something for the office. I’ll be back for more papusas, but I’ll save some room for a cheese danish.
