Sigh… I want to admit upfront that I am not a «chop shop nail salon» goer. So please keep this in mind when reading this. I needed a polish change on my toe nails and decided to get it done at this place because we were going to eat dinner a few doors down at Papi’s. I walk in to 4 –5 female employees huddled by the front desk having some type of convo. They acknowledge me as I’m coming the through the door. I tell them I need a polish change on my toes. I’m told to pick a color. I turn around from picking my color and am I asked am I ready by a woman. I say yes, she grabs and HOLDSMYHAND while walking me to the pedicure seat. I’m not a touchy person AND everything I’m thinking shows on my face! I was not feeling this at all! I get in the chair, she disappears for a moment, comes back and places towel down for me to put my feet on the cushion thingy. I put my feet there, she looks at my feet for 3.5 seconds and tells me «You need pedicure» Me: *annoyed face* «I got a pedicure a week and a half ago. They are too long, I want filed down and fresh polish.» The lady: «You sure, I think you need one» Me: *deep sigh* «I’m VERY sure»(Let me explain why this pissed me off… I soaked and buffed my feet a few hours before. I do this in between pedicures to keep my feet soft. I noticed issues with my polish, went ahead and pushed my cubical back & moisturized my feet. NOTHING about my feet except polish needed help!) The two employees doing services on both sides of me AND their clients are now in the convo. Looking at my feet and trying to see what will happen next. One of the employees even stated my feet looked good. This did not stop Ms Up-Sale of the Century though! She proceeds to lift her foot above my leg and show me the nail art on her feet! «You see this? You want art?» Me: «No, I don’t like or wear nail art»(Places I normally go do not even offer this! Plus I think nail art is for kids and hood folks!) Ms Up-Sale finally starts changing my polish. She ask me do I want a facial or waxing. I’m through with her and simply reply no. She decides to start talking to the client being worked on next to me, whom I assume was a regular there. She ask her has she thought more about getting a bikini wax there. The lady says it will hurt. I join in this convo sharing my experiences with waxing and how I don’t feel it hurts. This opens the door up for Ms. Up-Sale again! «When the last time you got waxed?» Me: «recently, I’m good» She continues to try to get me to wax with her! I finally say maybe another time to get her to hush! She tells me all the crap they do. When she is done with my polish change, she takes me to the front to pay. We get to the counter and she looks at me for another 3.5 seconds and tells me «You need a brow wax!» SERIOUSLY! Me: «I got my brows done on Tuesday» She puts on her glasses looks at me closely and says«Oh ok» She ask me something else and I finally tell her«I work for a spa. I get most of my services there.» At this point she gets some«act right». Goes to the back to get me change for a $ 20 and is extra polite and pleasant. I tip her and dang near run out of there! Even after all that the worse part of my trip is that they were using the pedicure blade implement on clients! That is illegal, YESILLEGAL, to use in businesses in GA!(I knew this before I ever worked in this industry btw) I am very disappointed with the up sale tactics used here and at other chop shops! But the use of razors on people’s feet is too much! Who knows how clean and sanitized they are with their services! My polish change looks great though but I will continue to pay more for better service and treatment!
