Leisure Fitness

I went here to buy a treadmill when running outside this winter became impossible. Leisure fitness turned out to be one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time. Store manager Peter Maccarone was patient and thorough in describing the models, their pros and cons. I had my six year old daughter with me and another employee (Chris??) spent the entire visit entertaining her by playing shuffle board and letting her test out the yoga balls. She was laughing her head off and having a grand old time, freeing me up to make a careful decision about what to get.
Ultimately we went with the cheaper model (pro spirit) that isn’t the kind in every gym, but is just as trustworthy and has a few cool whistles and bells (built in fan? Yes, please!).
Of course when I went to pay my credit card was denied (all my cards had to be replaced after the Target card debacle). I had the money and Pete gave me no grief as I had to call my credit card company and get the problem resolved. He worked to set up the soonest and most convenient delivery date. Usually deliveries take about a week, but Pete knew of a recent delivery cancellation and made an effort to slot us into that spot so we could get the equipment in just two days.
I don’t have much basis for comparison, so maybe other places in the area have more selection, but we got a mid-​range treadmill at what my internet research suggested was a good price ($ 1300). Since December my wife and I have put a lot of miles on it and it’s going strong. As a side note: don’t use an extension cord, and don’t put a treadmill on an unheated porch. We learned these things the hard way when the machine pooped out, our first week after purchase, but customer service was good and as soon as we moved it indoors and it was just fine. We moved it on our own. YIKES, it was heavy, but doable!
Pete threw in a bunch of extras (work out gloves etc.) at the end, including a pair of mini gloves that fit my daughter. Now she loves to lift with us – her tiny 1lb weights.
I would definitely go back to Leisure Fitness because the prices fit my pocketbook and the service was terrific.

This place has a good selection of fitness equipment from floor equipment to treadmills and other cardio. The showroom is well organized. I’ve been in a couple of times and have found that there are reasonable prices to be gotten by buying their floor models. Store service has been helpful and they offer free delivery.
